"Nobody has yet to come out," Chinese Communist Party Insider Reveals

NEW YORK (FDI)--The Falun Dafa Information Center received shocking, detailed information on Wednesday from a Chinese Communist Party insider documenting a concentration camp set up in Shenyang city, Liaoning province, expressly for Falun Gong practitioners. The news comes on the heels of the Department of State's 2005 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices, released Wednesday; the report documents continued, systematic abuses of the Falun Gong in China. (full report)

Information about the camp was relayed via audio recording from a former intelligence agent of the Chinese communist regime. It is the first time news of the secret camp's existence was disclosed to outsiders. The camp is said to hold over 6,000 Falun Gong adherents at any given time, and "nobody has yet to come out" from it alive. According to the source, it contains a crematorium, and an unusually large number of doctors work there--reflecting the camp's practice of killing prisoners for their organs, which are then sold for profit.

"Falun [Gong] practitioners are killed for their organs, which are sent off to various medical facilities. Organ sales is now a highly profitable business in China...
The source tried to convey the horror of what is happening in the concentration camp: "Why was a crematorium built, and why are so many doctors housed there? ... The answer is something unimaginable. You must be clear that a cremator for bodies is different than a burner used for sanitation purposes."

Located in the Sujiatun district of Shenyang city, the camp, dubbed the Sujiatun Concentration Camp, is surrounded by walls three meters high, topped with electrified barbed wire. It is heavily fortified and said to be highly secret; locals know close to nothing about it. Those held inside are Falun Gong adherents from China's three northeastern provinces as well as central China; many are said to have been transferred there from various labor camps. CCP authorities involved with the camp have "learned many things from North Korea," according to the source.

"This is deeply, terribly disturbing, and confirms our worst fears: that CCP authorities remain intent on 'eradicating' Falun Gong, and in their desperation will go to any lengths," stated FDI spokesperson Mr. Erping Zhang. "We need to be clear that the persecution has not gone away--it has merely become darker and more hidden."

The Chinese communist regime source spoke at length about the unlawful "harvesting" of organs in the Sujiatun facility. "If Falun Gong practitioners are sent to Sujiatun," he said, "they have no chance of coming out ... The CCP won't let a prisoner consume food forever. So what are they up to, then? ... the Falun Gong practitioners are killed for their organs, which are sent off to various medical facilities. Organ sales is now a highly profitable business in China."

"They can't find enough bodies through executions, and no bodies are more readily available for this business than those of the [Falun Gong] practitioners," he stated.

Warning signs have surfaced in recent months.

Last June CCP authorities reportedly held a "crisis meeting" in which China's deputy minister of Public Security, Liu Jing, was assigned the job of "stamping out" Falun Gong "before the Olympic Games in 2008," according to the Paris-based Intelligence Online. Several reports have stated that authorities wish to use the Olympics as a pretext to deepen their assault on the Falun Gong.

This past January Chinese officials similarly announced a "new campaign" that would "sabotage activities of cult organizations" as part of a "complex struggle against enemies," according to a Reuters report. Past campaigns to "strike hard" have resulted in upwards of 10,000-plus executions in a single year, say human rights groups.

Word of concentration camps for Falun Gong practitioners has circulated for several years. An October 1, 2000, report by Agence France Presse told of two concentration camps having been recently built, both specifically for Falun Gong detainees. The camps were said to have been built in northwest and northeast China, and been capable of each holding up to 50,000 persons.

An October 6, 2000, report on Minghui.net stated that a concentration camp, expressly for the Falun Gong, had been built in the remote northwestern province of Xinjiang. Chinese sources report seeing Falun Gong adherents shipped off on trains to the Xinjiang camp. Little to no information on the secretive camp has emerged. No one to date is known to have come back from the camp.

Stated Mr. Zhang, "International media and governments around the world must pay attention to this and take active measures to investigate the concentration camp and put a stop to this barbarity and madness. We are calling for all possible support from international organizations. There must be accountability in China. If this is the price people are paying for our silence, it is chillingly tragic."

The Atrocities at the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp

People commonly use the term "hell on earth" when referring to detention centers, labor camps, prisons and the other kind of facilities that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) uses to violently "reform" Falun Gong practitioners. However, there's no earthly word to describe how vicious the Gaoyang Labor Camp is. The following is an account of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Xia's horrifying experience and other atrocities at the Gaoyang Labor Camp.

Ms. Li started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. On July 29, 2003, some policemen from Wuyi County suddenly surrounded her house. They entered her yard by climbing over the wall. After that, they forcibly dragged Li Xia into a police vehicle. She was only wearing a short-sleeved shirt, shorts and slippers then. She was directly taken to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp.

She was body-searched and right after that people attempted to force her to write a guarantee statement. She refused. The police then shocked her for half an hour with electric batons. The prison guards then drafted a guarantee statement for her and physically forced her hand to sign the paper. At 7:00 p.m. when the prison guards changed shift, they ordered the inmates to report to roll call. Li Xia refused to do so. Hence, she was dragged into a small room on the second floor where evildoers again shocked her with electric batons. Soon after that she was further tortured. The prison guards used the so-called, "Tying the ropes" torture twice. This all happened on her first day in the labor camp.

The next day the police sent Zhang Yuzhen to "reform" her, but after five or six days, Li Xia still refused to give in. The police then used three or four electric batons at once to shock her for so long that it felt like a lifetime to Li Xia. Her whole body turned blue and purple, her arms were swollen, and a layer of skin peeled off. Three years have passed since then, but the scars on her arms as a result of "tying the ropes" (1) remain clear. The police then forced her to watch a video called, "Mom, Love Me Again," intending to break her emotionally, but to no avail. The day after that, police officers Zhao Yuan and Niu Lijun hit her face with books and stabbed her body with pens, all the while verbally abusing her saying, "We will torture you till you die." Besides verbally abusing her they also slandered Falun Gong. Under such brutal persecution, Li Xia wrote the four statements (similar to the three statements). Later, she wrote a solemn statement to declare them invalid.

In November, 2003, the head police officer of a regiment, Wei Hongling, and Fan Yaju, as well as the head police officials from all classes ordered the willingly "reformed" and unwillingly "reformed" practitioners to fill out certain forms. Except the few who actually gave up their belief, all the others wrote something positive about Falun Gong. The evildoers were enraged. They dragged three practitioners out for torture. Those who could not endure the torture were forced to write a "guarantee statement" again. The evildoers then gathered all Falun Gong practitioners into a big classroom and ordered the practitioners who wrote the statements to read them out loud in front of the group.

On November 5, 2003, Li Xia was led to the second floor where someone attempted to force her to write a guarantee statement again. She refused. The prison guards verbally abused her and took off her shoes to shock her feet with eight electric batons at the same time. One of the guards, Zhao Yanping was six months pregnant, but she still grabbed two electric batons to shock Li Xia. Ms. Li endured the electric shock torture from seven or eight guards at the same time for over two hours.

The evening of November 7, Li Xia was led to the room the guards used to beat people. Guard Wei Hongling's husband brought a bed board wrapped with iron rings. The prison doctor Wang Guoyou told the prison guards to shock practitioners on their acupuncture points and grabbed Li Xia by the hair and hit her face several times. Li Xia started to see stars and felt very dizzy. They shocked her back, feet, legs and arms. Furthermore, they used two batons and shocked both sides of her neck at the same time. The severe pain was extremely hard for Li Xia to endure. She gritted her teeth to keep from crying out in pain. At that moment Wei Hongling demanded to know if Li Xia would write the statement. She replied, "Anything coerced will not work." Wei told Li Xia that she would have to write one, even if it was done against her will. Li Xia said, "Even if I have to die, I will not write it." They still would not give up, but shocked her for three more hours. Guard You Yanxiao said to Li Xia mockingly, "It's not that we want to shock you. You have too much karma."

After returning to the class, her classmates saw that her body was covered with red spots; her face was blue and purple, her hands were covered with blisters, her wrists were swollen and bleeding after being handcuffed, and a layer of skin had peeled off from her arms and feet. Nevertheless, they still forced her to work in the field.

Not only Li Xia suffered from such brutal abuse and persecution. Many other Falun Gong practitioners were also tortured so severely that some were carried back afterwards. Some were sent to the emergency room. It was all because they refused to give up their belief and would not write the four statements or the guarantee statement. Such physical torture and mental suffering were overwhelming. Non-practitioner inmates said, "One would be lucky to leave this place alive." Living in such a hell on earth is inconceivable if not seen with one's own eyes. It is hard to imagine. Zhang Xiuying, Meng Junluo, Liu Shuqin, and Li Cuiping and others were forced to bite their tongues to protest the cruel and forcible "reform."

One day in October 2005, the guards started a cell search. Li Cuiping had not eaten anything for a few days. When she refused to be body searched, Li Xuejun, Wei Hongling and some other prison guards shocked her with electric batons for a long time. Not until Li could no longer bear it and bit her tongue to the point of bleeding, did the guards cease.

Zhao Shuying was tortured for months. She was in poor physical condition and unable to take care of herself. The guards still attacked her and tried to search her body, which made her pass out and lose control of her bowels. The prison guards and Gaoyang Hospital personnel colluded and claimed that Ms. Zhao was not sick but was just pretending. They carried her to the first floor and shocked her. Currently, Ms. Zhao is nauseous, dizzy, and whenever she eats she vomits. She is very weak and emotionally devastated. She cannot take care of herself at all.

Chengde Falun Gong practitioner Xie Ping's parents are members of the CCP. Their minds have been deeply poisoned. In order to "reform" their daughter they even collaborated with the police. They invited a "reformed" former practitioner named Zhang Xiuqin to come for several days and attempt to "reform" Xie Ping. During this time the police would not let Xie Ping go back to her cell, but locked her in a big classroom. Police separated her three times a day from others for abuse and torment. Xie Ping's mental health was severely devastated. The former practitioner Zhang Xiuqing also volunteered to help "reform" the other practitioners. Xie Ping warned Zhang that good and bad all receive their due. Zhang said she was not afraid of bad consequences. Although Xie Ping's parents and the police tried all kinds of tactics, they were unable to shake Xie Ping's belief in Falun Gong.

The Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp sets up its own court and randomly reduces or increases jail terms at will.

The Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp store sells items for prices much higher than those on the open market. They extorted money from criminal inmates and practitioners for personal gain.

Most of the detainees at the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp are 50 or 60-year-old women. Some of them are Falun Gong practitioners, among which are those who were wrongfully treated but were detained in the labor camp after appealing. Some of the detainees are handicapped, and many are sick. They suffer from different kinds of illnesses such as heart problems, venereal diseases, hepatitis, bronchitis and others. Almost no one was physically healthy. By law, labor camps should not accept such physically ill people. The Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp officials intentionally break the law. They treat Falun Gong practitioners particularly cruelly. They do not regard practitioners. Practitioners are made to live in such a dreadful place.

The Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp guards who have participated in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners include the following: Li Xuejun, Wei Hongling, Fan Yaju, Niu Lijun, You Yanxiao, Lu Yaqin, Shi Jiangxia, Liu Huili, Li Jixing, Wang Guoyou, Wang Zhitai, Zhao Yuan, Zhao Yaping, Fang Bao and others.

    Note:

    (1) "Tying the rope," a type of brutal torture, refers to putting a thin nylon rope around the back of a person's neck, and then wrapping it around both shoulders down to each arm loop by loop, and then over each hand. The rope is tightened to its limit and it cuts into the flesh. Both arms are forced behind the back and raised to the extreme, and then both thumbs are tied with a rope and locked to the rope that it goes around the back of the neck. The person tortured in this way is then forced to kneel down on the floor. The rope is released about one hour later, and then the person is tied up like this again a second time, then a third time...See photo illustration on /emh/articles/2004/9/18/52553.html

Ms. Xu Ailian Suffers Mental Breakdown from Torture at Baimalong Forced Labor Camp, Zhuzhou City

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Ailian from Xiangtan County, Henan Province was tortured until she had a mental breakdown at Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City, Henan Province. Unlawful personnel and criminals at Baimalong Forced Labor Camp tortured her with methods such as piercing her fingers with nails and mixing drugs into her food.

Ms. Xu Ailian is a resident of Shefu Township in Xiangtan County. She began practicing Falun Gong in 1996. Both she and her husband were steadfast in practicing Falun Gong. After the persecution of Falun Gong began under Jiang Zemin's regime, they were also persecuted. In 2000, her husband, Liang Xinan, was illegally sentenced. In January 2004, when Xu Ailian was handing out truth-clarification materials, she was reported, and the police arrested her. She was then sentenced to one year in at the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp.

Police officers at Baimalong Forced Labor Camp instigated criminals to pierce Xu Ailian's fingers with iron nails. They inserted a toothbrush between her fingers and then squeezed her hands very tightly to induce excruciating pain. They also mixed nerve-damaging drugs into her food. Xu Ailian resisted the persecution and she shouted loudly, "Falun Dafa is good!" She finally made it through. In February 2005, she was released.

In April 2005, two months after Xu Ailian was released, the police came to arrest her again, and illegally sentenced her to another year in a forced labor camp. She was detained at Baimalong Forced Labor Camp again. There, she was persecuted until she suffered a mental collapse. In October 2005, the forced labor camp was afraid of taking any responsibility for her condition so the person in charge had to ask her family to take her home.

The Deputy President of Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp (Zhao Guibao) and the Head of the Health Department (Lu Yongquan) are a couple that used to be doctors in the forced labor camp. They were promoted after persecuting Falun Gong. They tortured, force-fed and injected Falun Gong practitioners with drugs. They were involved with many of the crimes against practitioners that happened in the forced labor camp. When the police officer at Baimalong Forced Labor Camp force-fed the Falun Gong practitioners who went on hunger strike to resist persecution, they added toxic drugs which damage the central nervous system, and as a result, Falun Gong practitioners developed mental disorders, lost their memory, went blind or suffered vertigo when they stood up or walked. After Zhang Yulan from Yonghe Township, Liuyang City was persecuted until she suffered a mental collapse, on April 30, 2005, she passed away.

Xu Ailian is currently isolated and detained at the Nursing Home at Shefu Town Center.

Teeth Pried Open with a Crowbar, a Teacher is Brutally Force Fed

Since I started practicing Falun Gong in 1999, my diseases have vanished and I have not been sick again. How could my personal experience be denied? Falun Gong is wonderful for individuals, families, work units, and even a whole country.

Falun Gong not only has magical effects for healing and fitness, but also teaches people to be noble and improves morality and realm of thought, because Falun Gong teaches people to be good. For example, I do not fight for personal gain. Instead, I bear my burdens and responsibilities. I go to work early and get off late. In the office, I volunteer to clean up and prepare hot water. Although these are tiny things, I have been consistently doing them for a long time. I would not have such righteous thoughts if I did not practice Falun Gong

When my boss arranges the work schedule, other teachers all want to be my partner because Falun Gong practitioners are willing to take burdens in the job, are benevolent to others, and have good relationships with anyone. During my work time, I do not do my personal things. I often volunteer to use the time after school to help students with their classes. Students and parents really like it. Because I am very responsible with my work, it has moved many parents' hearts. Some parents want to give me gifts over and over again, but I politely refuse. I tell them that it is a teacher's duty to teach students well and I should not ask for anything back from parents. My co-workers and parents all comment: "You are really a nice person. There are very few people like you who have good thoughts."

But from July 2000 to May 2003, I was persecuted by the 610 Office both mentally and physically, and was also deprived of my job and basic rights for almost 3 years. The school terminated my salary for 35 months, just because I practiced Falun Gong and wanted to be a truthful, compassionate and tolerant person. I suffered a lot of pressure.

I practiced Falun Gong and did not do any bad thing, nor did I violate the law. I went to Beijing to appeal to the government, to tell them the facts about Falun Gong. I become a law-abiding person, much more so than before, and did not overstep the law in any situation. Despite this, I was illegally detained 3 times in the past few years. I was brutally persecuted, and was greatly insulted.

Twice I was thrown into jail. The first time I was detained one month, the second time I was detained about 10 months. Police used an iron rod to beat me, and my hands were handcuffed and my feet put in shackles. In addition, 8 strong prison guards handcuffed my hands, chained my feet, and force-fed me brutally. During the force-feeding, I was held down to an iron bed. Some guards held my hands and some my feet. Some held my head, some pinched my nose to block my breath, some pinched my neck repeatedly, some held my chest, and some used a crowbar to pry open my teeth. All my teeth were pried loose. The flesh in my mouth was torn and turned inside out. They then used the crowbar to force my mouth open horizontally, and then shoved it to the back of my throat to hold down my tongue. The pain was beyond description.

On November 25, 2003, while I was teaching a class, the 610 Office police arrested me right in front of the class. This greatly hurt all my students and caused chaos for quite some time.

They arrested me in an attempt to force me to undergo brainwashing. Police locked me up in a room and 3 to 4 people repeatedly tried to brainwash me using all kinds of lies, day and night. At night I was not allowed to sleep. They forced me to stand, beat me, and applied various methods to persecute me. Their goal was to force me to give up my belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance." They wanted to "transform" me but how could they do it? I am a good person. What would they "transform" me into? Isn't it good for society to have more good people?

Over the past several years, the Chinese Communist regime slandered Falun Gong on a large scale. As the lies are revealed, however, people are awakening. Many high-ranking officials and police who still have conscience, no longer participate in persecuting Falun Gong. On the contrary, they sympathize with Falun Gong.

The principle that good is rewarded with good and evil provokes karmic retribution is a heavenly principle. Numerous people have experienced good rewards and their misfortune turned to good when they treated Falun Gong well. There are countless examples of people suffering karmic retribution when they persecuted Falun Gong. For example, Falun Gong practitioners persuaded two directors of Huanggang City 610 Office, Zhang Shiming and Wang Kewu, many times to do good deeds but they did not listen. They persecuted Falun Gong for several years. They have since died and were only just in their 40s or 50s.

Falun Gong continues to spread in the world. I sincerely wish everyone a good future.

Practitioners in Daqing Prison Hunger Strike to Protest Persecution

Falun Gong practitioners illegally detained in Daqing Prison in Heilongjiang province were on a hunger strike for 17 days from January 27, 2006 to February 11, 2006. Practitioners Zhang Zhi, Guan Zhaoqi, Wang Yudong, Li Ronghong, Zhao Yuan, Zhang Xingye and Pu Fanwei are now unable to get out of bed; they are very weak. Pu Fanwei is in a coma, and Zhang Zhi is in serious condition.

We urgently appeal to the international community and all people with a sense of justice to support these practitioners.

An inhumane group persecution is taking place in Daqing Prison. Since July 1999, at least 46 practitioners there have been persecuted to death. The authorities continue to commit crimes upon crimes. Prison Director Wang Yongxiang, who came to the prison in October of last year, is especially cruel and merciless. He personally directs the persecution there.

On January 26, 2006, Wang Yongxiang publicly beat practitioners Jiang Derong, Jia Shenghui, Sun Jianbin, Wang Yudong, and Jin Sheng, and locked them all up in solitary confinement to torture them.

After learning of this ill treatment, other practitioners began a hunger strike on January 27 to protest. Director Wang Yongxiang instigated the prison hospital Chief Gao Qing and Deputy Chief Huang Zhiwei to force-feed these practitioners with salt water once a day. He also ordered each ward to send practitioners to the prison hospital for forced intravenous injections.

On February 8, policemen and inmates from the first ward sent practitioner Jin Sheng to the prison hospital. Deputy Chief of the hospital Huang Zhiwei ordered several inmates to strap Jin Sheng down in a bed and thrust in a tube to force-feed him. Jin Sheng did not cooperate with the force-feeding and pointed out that this is just another form of persecution. However, the inmates force-fed him with violence. Due to the violent insertion of the tube, his nose was covered in blood and he coughed up blood in his mouth until the inmates stopped in fear. Jin Sheng continued to try to persuade the perpetrators not to participate in the persecution. Huang Zhiwei not only did not listen to Jin Sheng but personally inserted the tubes even more aggressively. He also ordered the inmates to mix salt in the milk powder to fill his stomach.

Practitioners who participated in the hunger strike include Pu Fanwei, Jin Sheng, Wang Yudong, Zhang Zhi, Guan Zhaoqi, Zhang Zidong, Jiang Derong, Li Ronghong, Zhong Zhaoqin, Zou Guoyan, Wang Junfeng, Deng Qingshan, Yao bin, Li Chao, Li Zhanbin, Zhai Zhibin, Zhao Yuan and Zhang Xingye.

The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Shihezi City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region

Since July 20, 1999, Falun Gong practitioners in Shihezi City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, have experienced severe persecution from the 610 Office and from local police. They have used a variety of means to persecute practitioners including ransacking their homes, arrest, brainwashing, detainment, forced labor, and long-term prison sentences. Presently, dozens of Falun Gong practitioners including Liu Huijuan, Wang Xi, Wu Shimin, Lian Xiuli, Chen Zhong, and others are still being maltreated in prison.

During the past several years, the forced-labor warrants for Falun Gong practitioners have been issued by Qiu Yanxiang, the deputy director of the Shihezi City Police Department. He was promoted to deputy secretary of the Political & Law Committee owing to his "contributions" to persecuting Falun Gong. None of the Falun Gong practitioners signed these warrants.

Additionally, the National Security Team of Shihezi City has illegally tracked Falun Gong practitioners for years, monitored their telephones, and frequently took Falun Gong practitioners away for interrogation without reason. They have no sense of the rule of law and think they can do whatever they want.

For example, a gang of policemen from Shihezi Police Department tried to intimidate Liu Huijuan. They told her that she would not be released until she wrote the three statements and openly smeared Teacher's name. She did not give in, and therefore she was sentenced to prison just because she spoke the truth about the Chinese Communist regime and why it persecutes Falun Gong practitioners.

The National Security Team led by Xu Ningdong, Li Daozhong, Wang Heping and Yang Zhijie torture Falun Gong practitioners using handcuffs and electric batons. They are so ferocious that they did not even show mercy to an practitioner in his seventies. They tortured him by handcuffing him behind his back and shocking him, and depriving him of sleep in order to force him to renounce Falun Gong. Finally, the elderly practitioner was taken to a forced labor camp for brainwashing and further persecution.

The "610 Office" of Shihezi City consisted of the Secretary of the Political & Law Committee Zhang Zushu and other staff including Wen Jianbang, Li Handong and Xue Yaojin. They forced Falun Gong practitioners to take part in the brainwashing session and restrained their personal freedom through house arrests. Falun Gong practitioners were under surveillance and were forced to watch the fabricated news aired by CCTV for brainwashing.

The "610 Office" made a lot of money from the brainwashing sessions. Each practitioner was forced to hand in 8400 yuan from his or her workplace or themselves, from which "610 Office" would keep 1000 yuan.

Wang Xi, a college teacher at Shihezi Commercial College who is presently detained in the 9th prison ward, the No.2 Jail of Xinjiang, was brutally tortured by the guards because she shouted "Falun Dafa is good!" Over the course of two years, she was handcuffed between the upper and lower tiers of a bunk bed; she was only permitted to go to bed after 2:00 a.m., and she was handcuffed again after 4:00 a.m. She was seriously injured both physically and psychologically owing to the long-term torture.

Another Falun Gong practitioner named Zhao Haijun had to become destitute and homeless because of the persecution. Recently, his wife Zhou Haixia was also arrested, which forced her to leave their two-year-old son unattended.

Guo Jingtai, a teacher at the Shihezi Tonglian Corporation affiliate school, was persecuted to the point of suffering a mental collapse by the "610 Office" since January 2003. Thereafter he suffered from an undiagnosed illness. He finally passed away on July 19, 2005.

Niu Mengling and Wu Shimin, a married couple, both were fired from East City Thermoelectricity Factory of Shihezi City for practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Niu searches for jobs with her young child. However, the police did not show any mercy towards her. Instead, they keep tracking, monitoring and harassing her. On November 26, 2004, police officials Cao Cundong and Song Li from the National Security Team ransacked her house without a warrant and attempted to take her away. Ms. Niu fled to her younger brother's home on the sixth floor of the same building, where she was forced out of the window and died as a result of the fall. Afterwards, the two policemen distorted the facts and said that Ms. Niu committed suicide as result of practicing Falun Gong.

A Seventy-Year-Old Woman from Sichuan Province Is Sentenced to Three Years in a Forced Labor Camp for Practicing Falun Gong

Ms. Hu Minghua is a 70-year-old resident of Zigong City, Sichuan Province. In order to rescue people who were deceived by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), she told them the facts about Falun Gong and how the CCP persecutes Falun Gong and its practitioners. She was detained in the Zizhong Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp twice. In March 2005 Ms. Hu went to Da'an District to distribute truth-clarifying material, and someone reported her. She was arrested and detained in the Wuyuncun Detention Center and was subjected to brainwashing, but Ms. Hu's belief in Falun Gong couldn't be shaken. In early October 2005 Ms. Hu Minghua was secretly sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp as a political prisoner.

Before Ms. Hu practiced Falun Gong, she suffered from nephritis, diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases and rheumatoid arthritis. She was confrontational and haggled over every penny she spent. After she started practicing Falun Gong in 1997 she became a different person; one who is healthy, kind, sincere, modest, and always willing to help others.

In March 2005 Ms. Hu went to Da'an District to distribute truth-clarifying material. Someone reported her to the police and she was arrested. She was then detained at the Wuyuncun Detention Center, where they attempted to forcibly brainwash her. The guards repeatedly played TV programs slandering Falun Gong and its founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi, and ordered some inmates to watch Ms. Hu in shifts, keeping her under surveillance 24 hours a day. The guards tried all kinds of ways to intimidate and entice her into signing a Repentance Statement, but she firmly believes in Teacher and Falun Gong, and she knows there is nothing wrong with practicing Falun Gong and telling people the facts, so none of their tricks worked on her.

While Ms. Hu was detained at the Wuyuncun Detention Center, the guards used psychological and physical torture to persecute her. The guards intentionally housed her with inmates infected with pulmonary tuberculosis, which led to her becoming infected as well. Details on this are still unknown.

More than half a year's physical and mental torture couldn't shake Ms. Hu's belief, so the police fabricated evidence on which to accuse Ms. Hu. In early October 2005, when 70-year-old Ms. Hu was sick and couldn't defend herself, the court branded her a political prisoner and sentenced her to three years of forced labor.

According to the CCP's laws, defendants have the right to appeal within 15 days of sentencing. Ms. Hu, however, was very weak and had no strength at all due to the torture she'd endured, so she couldn't even manage to ask her family to appeal for her. The police didn't want her family to know about her sentence or her health, so they waited until the appeal period had passed (around October 21), and notified her daughter to send some clothes for her the day before she was to be sent to prison. Her daughter arrived that afternoon. Ms. Hu needed help to walk to her daughter. Seeing her once healthy mother too weak to walk by herself, her daughter was sad and mournful, but dared not say anything.

The next morning, Ms. Hu was transferred to the Chuanxi Prison for Women in Hong'an Town, Chengdu City. She was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis, one of the contagions closely monitored by the World Health Organization. It's beyond ordinary people's imagination to believe that the CCP would use such a dirty trick to persecute a 70-year-old woman for practicing "Truthfulness - Compassion - Forbearance" and secretly sentence her as a political prisoner on false evidence.

After Ms. He was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis, she was isolated for treatment for two months. During that time her family wasn't allowed to visit her. Again, inmates were ordered to monitor her, and the guards repeatedly played TV programs slandering Falun Gong and its founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi. Meanwhile, they tried to convince her that they were giving her preferential treatment by giving her imported medicine. They even spoke about prison as though it were paradise, where she wouldn't need to worry about food or housing.

How evil it is! This is the trick that the CCP has been playing all along in order to rule and control the Chinese people. While they are brutally persecuting a person, they suddenly shift gears, pretending to be kind and nice to the person to make the victim grateful for their kindness. Their only purpose is to "transform" the good people who practice "Truthfulness - Compassion - Forbearance" into their slaves.

The Facts about the Persecution of Practitioners from Zhaoqing College in Guangdong Province

Practitioners from Zhaoqing College in Guangdong Province (formerly Zhaoqing Xijiang University) were sentenced to forced labor by the 610 Office of Zhaoqing City because they appealed to the government for justice for Falun Gong and clarified the truth about the persecution. They are being detained and persecuted in the Guangdong Sanshui Forced Labor Camp. Below are some facts about this persecution:

Ms. Fang Yi, in her mid-40's, was an outstanding physics teacher. Since 1999, the police have harassed, persecuted, and followed her. She has been detained and sent to brainwashing centers many times. Around June or July of 2003, the college officials, in cooperation with local 610 officials, fired her and sent her to the Guangdong Sanshui Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Fang's current situation is unknown.

Mr. Huang Songdian is a 29-year-old from Jieyang City, Guangdong Province. He graduated from the Chemistry Department of Zhaoqing Xijiang University in July 1999. As a student, he had an outstanding academic record. He is kind and honest and was loved by his teachers and classmates. Mr. Huang was sentenced to forced labor because he appealed for the right to practice Falun Gong. He was released from Guangdong Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in 2002. On December 30, 2004, Mr. Huang and Mr. Tang Zhiheng were arrested by the police in his neighborhood. On December 31, the police handcuffed him and took him in to the police station to book him. Mr. Huang was sentenced to three years of forced labor.

Mr. Tang Zhiheng, 29, also graduated from the Zhaoqing Xijiang University Chemistry Department. Mr. Tang was sentenced to forced labor because he, too, appealed for the right to practice Falun Gong. He was released from the First Forced Labor Camp of Guangzhou City in January 2003. In 2004, Mr. Tang, Mr. Lin Yanguang, and Mr. Huang Songdian started a leather product business in a market close to the Guangzhou City Train Station. They later set up a supply center for truth-clarification materials that operated for some time. On December 30, 2004, the police arrested them. Mr. Tang was sentenced to four years of forced labor and is currently detained in Guangdong Sanshui Forced Labor Camp.

In addition, Ms. Li Ruqin, a practitioner from Zhaoqing, who used to be the volunteer director of the Zhaoqing Falun Gong Assistance Center and the Principal of Baihua Elementary School in Zhaoqing City, was arrested in April 2004. She was later transferred to Guangdong Sanshui Forced Labor Camp. It is known that Ms. Li has been thrown into male prisoners' cells during her detention.

Falun Gong Practitioner Wu Jianghai Persecuted into Mental Disorder at Suzhou Prison

Tang Liming and four others used various means to torture Falun Gong practitioners at Suzhou Prison in Anhui Province. Practitioner Wu Jianghai suffered from a mental disorder because of the persecution, and practitioner Xu Kun's leg was broken during a vicious beating by prison guards.

A special base was set up to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in Suzhou Prison. The five people involved in the persecution were Tang Liming, Xia Liangmin, Liu, Huang, and Yao. To meet the requirements of their supervisors' inspection, they wrote slogans on red paper slandering Falun Gong, and posted them on the walls throughout Suzhou Prison. When they discovered the slogans were removed, they persecuted Falun Gong practitioners with violent attacks.

Because Wu Jianghai persisted in his Falun Gong practice, prison guards handcuffed him behind his back and confined him to a tiny cell. In June he was tortured with exposure to the baking sun. They also made use of criminal prisoners, who had been sentenced to death or lifetime imprisonment, to ruthlessly beat Wu Jianghai. They used rubber batons, electric batons and various cruel means to torture him, and he was then carried back to his cell by two people. He became incontinent from this brutal torture. Wu Jianghai was later locked in a small cell again for several months, and endured further torture. When he suffered a third round of torture, he finally became mentally disordered. He has been this way for several months now.

Falun Gong practitioner Xu Kun was beaten by prison guards with rubber and electric batons. In the freezing winter they poured cold water on his naked body and blew fans on him. His leg was broken in a vicious beating by prison guards. Another practitioner from Hefei was plump and healthy when he entered the prison. He was tortured by prison guards until he was so thin and disfigured that other practitioners hardly recognized him. Yet he still said, "Don't be afraid. The evil is nothing."

Special small cells were set up in the persecution base, through which Falun Gong practitioners are monitored, even while using the restroom. At the base, a practitioners' every move and every word is under the evil's surveillance. Falun Gong practitioners who held hunger strikes to protest the persecution were chained to big boards and brutally force-fed. Practitioner Xie Jiaqi, over 60-years-old, was handcuffed behind his back. Guards tortured him continuously for several days and deprived him of sleep.

The guards at the so-called "transformation base" in Suzhou Prison started a "100 day campaign." From July through September 2005, they used extremely despicable means to persecute Falun Gong practitioners who maintain their belief in "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance." Because practitioner Wu Jiang refused to cooperate with their so-called "transformation," the monitoring group consisting of prison guards and criminals beat him and tortured him. They tied a rope to his testicles for several days with no reprieve. Practitioner Ji Chuanjun suffered internal injuries from beatings to his chest, making it difficult to breathe and walk. Prison guards beat practitioner Du Changwei with seven electric batons simultaneously, shocking his body and inside his mouth. Prison guards locked practitioner Yang Manyi in a small cell several times, then tied him to a chair and chained his feet, beating him from behind with electric batons to force him to go up and down stairs. They also tortured practitioner Cao Xiongbin by placing him in a confined cell for a long time.

Listed above are just a few of the many cases of the brutal and illegal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by prison personnel.

The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Tianshui City, Gansu Province

    1. Partial details of practitioners who died as a result of persecution

Wang Shenggui, a monk from the Yuquan Taoist Temple, Tianshui City passed away in detention

Officials discovered Mr. Wang, age 35, in possession of a copy of Zhuan Falun at the end of 2000. He was detained for months and went on a protest hunger strike for over 40 days. He passed away at the Min County Detention Center. Following are details:

Wang Shenggui, a monk from the Yuquan Taoist Temple, Tianshui, Gansu Province, began practicing Falun Gong in 1999. In December 2000, there was a theft at the Yuquan Taoist Temple. Policemen searched the temple and found Wang Shenggui in possession of a copy of Zhuan Falun. They detained Mr. Wang for over three months, in violation of the Chinese Constitution, at a drug rehabilitation center located in the Qincheng District, Tianshui City. Meanwhile, the police tried to force him to write the guarantee statement, but Wang Shenggui refused and his firm determination to practice in Falun Gong did not waver. On March 9, 2001, he was sent back to his hometown in Min County where he was again detained, this time for over four months. To protest the persecution, Wang Shenggui started a hunger strike. The officials at the Min County Detention Center ignored the hunger strike and refused to release Mr. Wang. After a hunger strike that lasted for over 40 days, Wang Shenggui passed away in July in the same year. The detention center officials lied to his family saying, "Wang Shenggui died of sickness and the hospital was unable to save him."

Policemen beat Huang Zhili to death

Practitioner Huang Zhili from Tianshui City was the victim of police beatings that left him with severe injuries from which he later died. Mr. Huang, age 53, was a practitioner from Mawusi Village (Shilipu Town, Tianshui City Gangu County). He went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. After his return, a villager reported him to the police. Local police illegally arrested Mr. Huang in 2001. He was unlawfully detained. During the interrogation, the police attempted to force Huang Zhili to give up his practice. The police beat him brutally and he was tortured to the brink of death. The police were afraid of taking responsibility for Mr. Huang's condition, and drove him back home in a police vehicle. The injuries were too severe however, and he missed critical treatment time. Two days later, Huang Zhili passed away at home.

Ms. Chen Guilan, a senior engineer of the Nuclear Industry 213 Team, was tortured to death

Falun Gong practitioner Chen Guilan was from the Beidao District, Tianshui City, Gansu Province. She was a senior engineer at the Nuclear Industry 213 Team. In September 2001, Communist regime agent Feng Jitang from the Beidao District Police Department deceived Ms. Chen into going to the police department. When she had just stepped inside the gate, the police immediately arrested her and pushed her into a police car. They sent her right away to the Lanzhou City Women's Forced Labor Camp in Gansu Province. Several days later, Ms. Chen died in the camp from gross physical abuse. The police told her family on October 1 to pick up the body. They told her family that she died of heart disease. When Chen Guilan's husband went to see the body, he saw that a large area of one of her legs was black and purple and showed blood. It was obvious that Ms. Chen died from torture.

Liu Wenyu, a retired employee from the Railroad Hospital in Tianshui City died as a result of persecution

Liu Wenyu, age 53, was a retired employee of the Railroad Hospital. She started practicing Falun Gong in October 1998. At the end of December 1999 she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The local police detained her for two weeks and fined her 4,000 yuan. In December 2000, Ms. Liu went to Tiananmen Square alone, saying to people, " Falun Dafa is good." Officials delivered her back to Tianshui City where she was sent to the Anning District Forced Labor Camp in Lanzhou City for two years. Liu Wenyu refused to cooperate with the unreasonable demands of the persecutors. She went on a hunger strike in protest, and they brutally force-fed her. The feeding tube caused excessive stomach bleeding. Ms. Liu endured many additional tortures. When she returned home from the labor camp, Beidao District agents went to her home and continued to harass her. As a result of the unrelenting persecution, Ms. Liu passed away in February 2004.

Liu Zhirong died at the 3rd Prison, Tianshui City

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Zhirong was a teacher at the Tuanjie Elementary School in the Xifeng District, Qingyang City, Gansu Province. He was tortured to death before January 14, 2006, by a murderous 1st Prison guard. The prison cremated Mr. Liu's body without prior notification of his family. The funeral parlor in Qingyang City, Mr. Liu's hometown, received the urn from the prison officials. The authorities claimed that he died of "suicide."

Liu Zhirong, age 42, went to Beijing to clarify the truth with Xu Feng and other practitioners on December 4, 1999. When he returned, the police unlawfully arrested and incarcerated him in a detention center for over 70 days. Zheng Xiang, a policeman from the National Security Section, the Xifeng District Police Department, beat him cruelly. On April 10, 2000, Zheng Xiang tricked Liu Zhirong into coming to the police station. He put Mr. Liu into a drug rehabilitation center to continue the persecution. Mr. Liu was later taken to a "public trial." He was paraded in the streets and humiliated. Liu Zhirong was put into a labor camp for one year, in violation of the Chinese Constitution. On April 25, he was delivered to the 1st Pingantai Forced Labor Camp in Lanzhou City and was released on July 1, 2001.

On April 28, 2002, Zheng Xiang led a group of policemen and rushed to the Tuanjie Elementary School. They tried to coerce Liu Zhirong into fingerprinting a document they had brought. Liu Zhirong refused. The policemen surrounded him in the schoolyard. They kicked him, stomped on him, and hit him violently with their police batons. Accompanied by their yelling and defamatory remarks they pushed Mr. Liu into a police vehicle. Teachers and students saw the policemen's brutality. Later, the police went to Liu Zhirong's home and ransacked his place. They broke several locks during the search, turning Mr. Liu's home upside down. In the afternoon of April 30, the police sent Liu Zhirong to a detention center. Mr. Liu said that he was not a criminal and refused to enter through the gate. The police then beat him and dragged him forcibly into his cell. Mr. Liu went on a hunger strike and became very weak, but the police didn't release him. Instead, they put him in a labor camp for three years. They then transferred Liu Zhirong to a rehabilitation center for further persecution. Liu Zhirong struggled against the abuse. The perpetrators beat him and carried him into his cell.

By the end of October 2002, Liu Zhirong had been illegally sentenced to 15 years in prison. At the end of October 2003, he was transferred to the Dashaping Prison in Lanzhou City, where he was confined and continuously abused under the persecution. In December 25 of the same year, he was transferred again, to Dingxi Prison in Gansu Province. At the end of 2005, Liu Zhirong, Xu Feng and six other illegally detained practitioners were sent to the 3rd Prison in Tianshui City. At noon on January 10, 2006, a prison guard from the 1st Prison District kicked the base of Mr. Liu's ear with his heavy boot. Mr. Liu Zhirong died from the blow.

    2. Dozens of Falun Gong practitioners have been detained, sentenced to forced labor and prison

In December 1999, practitioners Chen Gang, Zhou Yaming, Dong Peilan, Zou Changhai and others, about 20 Falun Gong practitioners in all, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. All were detained upon their return. During the 2000 Chinese New Year, more than 60 practitioners were detained because they joined Falun Gong group study. Each was fined from 500 to 3,000 yuan; the median fine was 2,000 yuan. Practitioners Li Fuzhi, Wang Yongming, Chen Gang, Zhou Yaming, Dong Peilan, and Zou Changhai and others were locked up in a detention center for a month. After that, they were sentenced to forced labor for a year and taken to the Honggu District Forced Labor Camp in Lanzhou City, to be further persecuted.

In December 2000, the following practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong: Li Jingjie, Zhi Kaiyan, He Xifeng, Wang Zhenzhu, Pang Bifang, Zhou Xiaolan, Wang Lixia, Liu Xiaoming, Liu Xiaoqin, Han Meiying, Zhai Fengchi, He Guiqin, Zhang Aiqing, Jia Kuangyuan, Yao Hui, Chu Yuzhong, Liu Yuanjin and Yan Hujiu. They were placed in detention after their return to Tianshui City. They started a protest hunger strike, and the authorities accelerated their persecution. Wen Dahu, Politics and Security Section head from Tianshui City's Qincheng District Police Department, swore at the Falun Gong practitioners and also threatened, "If they don't eat with their mouths, we will make them eat with their bottoms." They inserted tubes into the rectums of four practitioners, filling the tube with salty chicken broth. The pain that the four practitioners suffered was so severe that even the inmates present could not watch any longer.

A month later, after suffering from the inhuman torture at the Qincheng District Detention Center, these practitioners were transferred to a drug rehabilitation center to attend brainwashing sessions. Because they insisted on practicing the Falun Gong exercises and stayed steadfast in Falun Gong, they were sentenced to prison terms, from one to three years. The female practitioners were transferred to the Anning District Second Forced Labor Camp in Lanzhou City, and the male practitioners were transferred to the Honggu District Pingantai Forced Labor Camp. None of the practitioners' families were notified before the transfer.

In April 2001, practitioner Guo Guangli was arrested at home and detained at a secret location. Since he refused to cooperate with the vicious forces, he was transferred to Honggu District Pingantai Labor Camp in Lanzhou City and was sentenced to three years of forced labor. On October 17, 2001, police from the local Mapaoquan Police Station arrested practitioner Li Cuihong at her teaching job. The police also claimed that they would send Li Cuihong to a labor camp. Her husband had been tortured by the evildoers and was already sentenced to one year of forced labor. He opted to leave home later on to avoid further persecution. But Li Cuihong was arrested. Their 10-year-old daughter was left alone at home.

Practitioner Huang Yuanyi from the Wushan District, Tianshui City, left his home because of persecution. The police then frequently went to his home to harass and threaten his father. They ordered his father to turn him in. His father felt hopeless and helpless and committed suicide by hanging himself. Yet, the Tianshi Daily accused Huang Yuanyi for not showing filial piety to his father, saying this was the reason his father died.

Mr. Yang Keqiang, 59 years old, a former employee of the Passenger Transportation Branch, Tianshui City Auto Transportation Headquarters, was tortured so severely that he showed signs of mental trauma. Yang Keqiang started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. He wanted to speak out in order to tell people the truth of Falun Gong and expose the wicked lies of the Communist regime. On May 8, 2002, Mr. Yang took a banner reading, "Falun Dafa is good," and hung it at the entrance of a municipal building. The Qincheng local police arrested him. That same day, some undercover police officers followed Yang Keqiang's wife home. They broke into their home and started to ransack it. His wife tried to stop them, but police officer Yang pushed her away. The force of his push made the police officer himself fall. By then another police officer arrived and grabbed Yang Keqiang's wife's arms roughly, held them behind her back and pressed them really hard. After Mrs. Yang rose from the ground, he kicked and beat her. If she tried to resist just a little, he would hit her hard. Her arms, chest, and other parts of her body ached so severely that it even hurt to breathe. They then arrested and detained her in the local police station for ten days. Yang Keqiang was held in the Luergou Detention Center and tortured for 33 days. The detention center extorted the Yang family out of 3,000 yuan. Office head Pei Guilin accepted the cash. After that, Mr. Yang was released. However, nobody knew what kind of tortures Mr. Yang had suffered in the detention center. As soon as he got home, he started to flail around, and rushed in and out. Whenever he saw a knife, sticks or guns, he would grab them. When he saw his wife, he would hit her and verbally abuse her. Even now, his mind is still confused, although he is able to work. His colleagues and friends comment that Yang Keqiang has changed into a totally different person as a result of the abuse he suffered.

In November 2002, before the beginning of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) 16th General Assembly, Tianshui City 610 Office agents made it mandatory for all students in the city's elementary schools to watch movies that slandered Falun Gong. They were intending to push the children into an abyss of lies.

On December 6, 2002, the Qincheng District Court secretly, and in violation of the Chinese Constitution, sentenced eight practitioners to prison terms as follows: held in the local prisons are practitioners Zhao Lanzhou (12-year term), Wang Yongming (11 years), Yang Jingchun (17 years), Shan Junbin (4 years), Wang Weiping (19 years), Gao Chaoming (6 years), Li Chunsheng (8 years). Imprisoned in the Lanzhou Dashaping Women's Prison out-of-town facilities are: Yin Xiaolan (11 years), Tang Qong (12 years), and Zhang Jinmei (20 years).

    3. The crimes of Feng Jitang and Wu Hongxia, officials from the Beidao District Police Department in Tianshui City

Zhou Jizu, former chief of the Political and Security Section at the Beidao District Police Department in Tianshui City, beat a woman practitioner who went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Gong. His beatings were so severe that the woman was covered in bruises and unable to walk. She could only crawl to the restroom. She was forbidden to drink clean water, but only the dirty water in a basin. A sixty-year-old practitioner from Mapaoquan Village was unconstitutionally detained because she shared experiences with other practitioners. Fifteen days later, the lawless authorities tried to extort 500 yuan from her. Since her family was extremely poor and couldn't afford to pay, officer Zhou Jizu handcuffed her to the police department's metal door and used a metal shovel to beat the practitioner. Zhou illegally locked up several dozen practitioners and sent many practitioners to forced labor camps. Zhou Jizu has now met with retribution for his extremely evil acts: he was dismissed from his position as chief, his mother died of disease, and his wife is bedridden from illness.

Feng Jitang, the new Political and Security Section chief of the Beidao District Police Department, along with another police officer, beat a female practitioner for a long time. It happened around noon, after they found Master Li's articles at that practitioner's home. The brutal beatings resulted in bumps and bruises covering her legs, to the extent that she couldn't stand or walk.

Feng Jitang and Wu Hongxia were the two most brutal officials from Beidao. Their hands are stained with the blood of Falun Gong practitioners. They caused many family tragedies. Since the persecution started on July 20, 1999 they have closely followed Jiang Zemin's Communist regime to insanely persecute practitioners. They often bound practitioners and hung them up, and then beat and otherwise tortured them. By conservative estimates, these two have personally sent more than 30 practitioners to forced labor camps. The practitioners they have beaten included the elderly in their sixties or seventies, elementary school students who were only about 11 years old, and those who were disabled. Practitioner Zhang Jinmei sustained a broken arm from their beatings.

On August 30, 2004, these police officers arrested a female practitioner from Huaniu Town, Beidao District. To get this practitioner to reveal and denounce other practitioners, officers Feng Jitang, Ding Mao, Liu Qi, and political head Gao subjected her to torture to get a "confession". They handcuffed her with her arms behind her back and beat her using thick sticks, making her roll on the ground in pain. Her whole body was covered with bruises. They detained this practitioner and tortured her for one week. They released her only after they realized they could not get any information from her.

A sixty-year-old humpbacked person was arrested and was locked up in the Beidao District Detention Center because he helped some practitioners who had difficulty making ends meet due to the persecution. Later on, Feng Jitang ordered this elderly person to be taken back to the Beidao District Police Department office. He was deprived of sleep for four days and was kept sitting on a wooden bench with his legs hanging in the air. Officer Wu Hongxia beat the elderly person with a broom, making his face distorted and his eyes bulge out. His eyesight was blurred and his face was so swollen that nobody could recognize him. When he was taken back to the cell, even the criminal cellmates cried. The elderly person was illegally detained for almost three months. Later, with his family's requests, officer Feng Jitang released him after having extorted 2,000 yuan from them. By then, this individual was already skin and bones.

Officers from the Beidao District Police Department arrested a woman teacher on December 15, 2003 from her home, because she had logged onto the Minghui website (Minghui is the Chinese language version of Clearwisdom). She was locked up in an office building and was deprived of sleep that night. Officers Wu Hongxia, Feng Jitang and others beat her and kicked her and slapped her face. Later on, Feng Jitang took out a very thick stick and beat her legs until they were completely covered with bruises and severely swollen. They then handcuffed her with her arms behind her back for over twenty minutes. The teacher was half dead from torture. Only after she had written the Guarantee Statement, against her will, did they set her free.

Someone who was ignorant of the truth denounced another woman teacher when she clarified the truth of Falun Gong to a passerby. This teacher was arrested that same day and taken to the police department. Feng Jitang and three other people holding wooden sticks beat her, breaking her skin and creating gaping wounds. She was covered in large wounds and was in unbearable pain.

Someone reported two practitioners from the countryside for clarifying the truth of the persecution. They decided to leave home, rather than be persecuted by evildoer Feng. They have been homeless since last summer. They could not tend to their farmland and missed the harvest. The mother of one of the practitioners was paralyzed and bedridden the whole year, someone had beaten the practitioner's wife and broken some of her ribs, resulting in hospitalization, his small child needed a caretaker, and his family had trouble buying enough to eat. However, as soon as he arrived home, Feng Jitang struck again and arrested the practitioner in the dead of night from his wife's sickbed. This happened as soon as Feng Jitang heard that the practitioner had returned home. But the criminal who beat his wife still remains at large. Feng didn't care at all about the practitioner's family's extreme difficulties and even extorted money from them. One of the family members was extorted out of 6,000 yuan, and another was extorted out of 9,000 yuan. Feng Jitang boasted, "If the money isn't the exact total, I definitely won't release you! I don't want it to be short of the amount, not even a single penny!"

Practitioner Chen Jiao was reported, seized and sent to the village government while she distributed Falun Gong truth clarifying materials. An officer surnamed Wang from the Beidao District Police Department used a thick wooden club to beat Ms. Chen for several hours, and tried to force her to tell them the source of the materials. Ms. Chen attempted to escape by jumping from the third floor of the village government building. She is now bedridden. The perpetrator felt guilty and hurriedly sent Ms. Chen to the hospital and escaped. When Ms. Chen's husband went to the police department and questioned why they beat his wife and tormented her to such an extent, Beidao Police Department officials denied the fact that they had beaten Ms. Cheng and denied the existence of a police officer named Wang.

Prior to July 20, 1999, an older practitioner once offered the exercise music and a place for practitioners to do the Falun Gong exercises. Feng Jitang compelled the old man to take part in the farce of turning in the Falun Gong books in at the Tianshui Television Station, to deceive kind people. Later on, Feng constantly put this older man under duress, tried to force him to write the "guarantee statement", make declarations against Falun Gong and report to the police department. Someone was assigned to monitor him 24 hours a day. Even when the old man went back to his hometown for a funeral ceremony, Feng also made people follow him. He ordered the older man to regularly report practitioners' "new activities." If there were no "new activities," he then questioned him under torture, an act the Chinese Constitution explicitly forbids. This elderly man couldn't bear the torture, became mentally distraught and started to fabricate testimony. When the old man's "confessions" didn't satisfied Feng, he then continued to torture him. Later they then extorted huge fines from him, from several thousand yuan to over ten thousand yuan. After his children paid, they released him, but admonished him to continue to nose around for "new things" and report regularly. Feng's greed and illicit conduct, which went on for several years made this man's family extremely poor and forced them into debt. Fear and physical torture made this older man frightened all day long. His children eventually couldn't find him anywhere one day and looked wherever they could think of. Because they were afraid to explain this situation to Feng Jitang, his children decided to leave and become homeless, to avoid Feng's additional coercion and ruthlessness.

The Beidao District Drug Rehabilitation Center illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners underwent a hunger strike to resist the evil slanderous propaganda and the persecution. Center head Zhu Wanmin ordered other police officers to bind the practitioners' hands and feet with ropes to a torture tool called a chain chair. They used a metal bar to pry the practitioners' mouths open and force-fed them. This cruel procedure frequently resulted in practitioners losing a few teeth. They were bound up like this for over ten hours and were forbidden to go to the restroom. Evildoing person Zhu Wanmin also once handcuffed a woman practitioner outside of the building for several hours in the severe winter. He once used a rubber tube to lash a male practitioner and hung the practitioner to the basketball frame for several hours. The practitioner was barely able to touch the ground with his toes and was in extreme pain.

In order to get more money, Zhu Wanmin even confined non-drug addicts in the rehabilitation center for at least six months, to bolster the number of detained people in order to get the allocated money from the Communist regime. Those detainees had to bribe the police department head and the rehabilitation center supervisor to get released earlier. They had to bribe them with at least several thousand yuan, or even ten thousand yuan or more.

Additional Persecution Latest News from China - February 20, 2006

My name is Li Shuxia, and I am from Dongchengfang Town of Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province. At around 8:00 a.m. on June 8, 2004, when I was working alone at home, four or five people suddenly broke into my home and asked me whether I was Li Shuxia. I told them, "Yes." Then they pushed me onto a chair and told me I was not allowed to move, although they did not show me any legal documents. They ransacked my house, pushed me into a vehicle, and took me to the town police department. They asked me who my supervisor was and whom I supervised, and who had contact with me. I told them we were practitioners and did not have any organization. They slapped my face many times. Afterwards, they handcuffed me and left me in a small room. They shocked my jaw and armpits with an electric baton and kicked and stomped on me until I fainted. But they thought I was just pretending to be unconscious and poked my face with needles. At night they took my husband and daughter to the police station and asked my daughter whether it was she who helped me get onto the Internet.
