According to a reliable source, Mr. Tian Yun has died while detained in Zhengzhou Prison in Xinmi City, Henan Province.

Mr. Tian Yun had once suffered from bad health and was often sick. He was also known as an ill-tempered individual. However, after he started practicing Falun Gong in 1998, he fundamentally changed. He started to respect his elders, care for his children, show kindness to his siblings, and work hard. He also enjoyed renewed good health. He became well known locally for his integrity and being a filial son. His family owned a grain mill, and he often let less fortunate people use the mill without charge.

He went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong around 2001. He was sent to a forced labor camp, but he never gave up his faith.

At around 8 a.m. on March 27, 2009, he was talking to people in public about Falun Gong and was arrested by the police. Hui County Court sentenced him to three years of imprisonment and detained him in Zhengzhou Prison, where he endured beatings, electric baton shocks, and deprivation of water. The guards tried to force him to write things to betray Falun Dafa and its founder, but he did not give in.

He has died as a result of the torture he'd endured, although the exact date of his death is currently unknown.
