3. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Female Falun Dafa Practitioners on Hunger Strike for Over 50 Days While Illegally Detained in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp, Their Lives are in Imminent Danger
Upon receiving one secret order after another from the Jiang Zemin regime, the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp has continuously been escalating its brutal persecution of Dafa practitioners. Their methods are becoming crueler. Dafa practitioners are on the verge of being murdered, and the situation has now reached a critical point.
Currently, there are five female Dafa practitioners in Wanjia Forced Labor Camp who have been on a hunger strike for over 50 days. The police have transferred them to the Labor Camp hospital for barbaric force-feeding. These five Dafa practitioners are: Hao Xiuzhi, Guo Mingxia, Ding Yanhong, He Miao, and Shang Yuxia. They began the hunger strike in order to demand release, on the grounds of being innocent. They refused the brutally carried out forced feeding. Male police officers and prison doctors Chang Fan, Jiang Chao, and female guards Yu Fangli, Han Xishan, Lin Yingzi, and Hu Bo, hit and kicked practitioners while they were on hunger strike. They held the women's heads to the ground, yanking their hair back while kicking them directly in the face. They continued this until the practitioners' faces were beaten to the point of disfigurement and blood gushed out of their mouths. Thugs beat them until the practitioners lost consciousness and then they started the force-feeding. Hao Xiuzhi and Guo Mingxia remained unconscious after force-feeding, and both their lives are in immediate danger. We call for emergency rescue!

Liu Junhua is an employee of the Sanjiang Food Company in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. He has been on a hunger strike for 32 days and is spitting out mouthfuls of blood. His life is in imminent danger.
Liu Junhua had been illegally sentenced to 1 year of forced labor for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in September 1999. On October 30, 2001, at the home of another Dafa practitioner in Mishan, the police arrested him without any reason or evidence. Liu protested against the politics and security section in Mishan by going on a hunger strike, demanding release on the grounds of innocence. Sixteen days later, Liu was sent to the emergency room of Mishan Lianfang Hospital for several days of treatment, but was not released. On the 22nd day of his hunger strike, Liu was taken back to Jiamusi City. Currently, Liu Junhua is being held in custody at the Jiamusi City Forced Labor Camp. He is too weak to walk. He spits out mouthful after mouthful of blood. The police officer in the forced labor camp inserted tubes into his nose to force feed him. After each force-feeding, Liu has to vomit for a long time. Prison doctors have diagnosed him with 3 ailments, but the labor camp has yet to release him.
Liu's 70-year-old parents have visited public security departments, the municipal public security bureau, the city government and the forced labor camp. However, they received no answers.
5. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Li Xiaoping and Others in Jinan Hunger Strike for Over 100 Days
Female practitioner Li Xiaoping was illegally arrested by the police in Lixia District in Jinan City on July 2. In the police station she refused to cooperate with the evil. She rushed to tear down the posters slandering Dafa in the police station. Later she was transferred to the Large Team No.1 of Shangdong Province Female Forced Labor Camp (No.20 Jiangshuiquan Road, Lixia District, Jinan City, Shandong Province; Phone 86-531-85555040) for illegal custody. In the forced labor camp, she has been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and to demand unconditional release. She started taking food from August 22 to September 2 but then began the hunger strike again. She has been on a hunger strike since then. She is extremely weak because of severe weight loss. Still, those inhuman prison guards continue to torture her by depriving her of sleep and winter clothes. Also on a hunger strike in the same forced labor camp, are Dafa practitioners Zhang Yanyuan and Liu Jian. Their hunger strike is said to have lasted over 100 days thus far, putting them in grave condition.
6. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Female Dafa Practitioner Chen Limei from Gongzhuling City Is on Her Last Breath Due to Torture in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province
Chen Limei, female, is from Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province. She is being illegally held in the Changchun Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. Her term was extended by 160 days for resisting the evil by holding onto her belief in "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance." In the forced labor camp, she has been severely tortured. Time in isolation cells, beatings with electric batons, and thugs striking her incessantly could not force her to give up her firm belief in Dafa. She is in a grave situation and is now in the Tiebei Prison Hospital. Sources say that she is "on her last breath."
7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] The Illegal Persecution of Zhang Yulan's Innocent Family Members
Dafa disciple Zhang Yulan was tortured to death in the Wanjia Labor Camp. At about three o'clock in the afternoon on June 20, 2001, five people from the local government and the Public Security Bureau of Mishan Town came to Zhang Yulan's home. Since there was no one in, they went to her neighbor's, inquiring about Zhang Yulan's birth date, education level and date that she started to practice Falun Gong. When the neighbor asked if Zhang Yulan was dead, they replied, "How do you know she died?" Her neighbor answered, "Otherwise, you wouldn't have asked for this information." As the five people came out of the neighbor's house, they came across Zhang Yulan's husband, Xing Baozhong.
That night, Xing Baozhong, together with his second daughter-in-law and his third son, were taken to the Wanjia Labor Camp in Harbin. His second son was taken there the next day. The police first took the three to a guesthouse using the excuse that they could have a good rest. Instead of them having a good rest, however, they were put under house arrest. In the afternoon, the police brought them to an unknown place far away to stay overnight. The next day, three policemen informed them that Zhang Yulan committed suicide on the June 20, 2001. The police also forced Zhang's family members to sign an agreement containing four terms by threatening that the family would be taking full responsibility for her death if they were not to sign. Details of the agreement remain unknown, however, one main condition is known. Her family members are not allowed to investigate the cause of her death. If they continue to investigate the death, the four were told they would be violating the law, and would be detained, or even put to death. The original copy of the agreement is under the control of the Mishan Public Security Bureau and the local government. After they signed the agreement, her body was shown to her family members. It was the police only and no one from the Wanjia Labor Camp handling this matter.
One month after her family members went back home, policemen from the Public Security Bureau pried open their locked door when there was nobody at home. They completely searched the house using the excuse that they were looking for Falun Gong books. At that point, the Xing's realized they had no choice but to leave home in order to avoid further persecution. After they left, the policemen again forced open the door and made another thorough search.
Before long, Zhang Yulan's second son Xing Defu was arrested and detained at the auto shop where he worked. Half a month later, he was sent to a labor camp. By the end of October, the police arrested and detained her third son Xing Delu without just cause. In addition, for no legal reason, the police confiscated his motorbike. It was later revealed that the actual reason was simply that they wanted to present Meng Qingqi, the director of the Politics & Security Section of the Public Security Bureau, with a "gift," in other words, to bribe him.
Worst of all, the police forcibly took the 200 Yuan kept with Xing Defu's six-year-old son. Currently Xing Delu is still unlawfully detained. The police have already forced him to pay them 13,000 Yuan [more than two years' income for an urban worker in China].
8. [Mainland China] State Terrorism Witnessed by a Non-Practitioner
I often receive materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. Today, I would like to tell Minghui Net about something I witnessed in late November of 2001. Two Falun Gong practitioners in our village, Yu Guicai and Zhao Guanglin, went to appeal to the government in Beijing to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. They were arrested and escorted back to the local government by the Beijing police. The local government then sent them to a detention center.
On November 21, 2001, the town supervisor Li Wenfeng, deputy director Sun Jiangming, and Party secretary Wang Qingxin, together with the director of the local police substation Wang Degang, director of the Armed Department Ye Bentian, and Liu Tiejun, Wang X etc. came to our village in four vehicles. They looked quite fierce in appearance. They imposed a punishment on Yu Guicai, the first of the two Falun Gong practitioners who went to Beijing. They confiscated 700 Yuan cash, two horses, and one carriage. Yu's family members tried to prevent them, however the town governor instructed the thugs he brought along with him to beat them with leather whips. Consequently, Yu Guicai's daughter was knocked to the ground and lost consciousness. A crowd of onlookers silently stifled the fury they were feeling. Some said in private that those officers were no different from the bandits from the past before the liberation.
That night, the group also went to Zhao Guanglin's home in Bawang Village. He is the second of the practitioners who went to Beijing. They confiscated over 1000 jin beans [equal to the annual income of a peasant in China] from him and over 1000 Yuan cash. They also searched his daughter's room, forcibly taking away two walkmans, two tapes, and two notebooks containing her diary.
The reason that I expose all of these happenings here is because Jiang Zemin and his gang have gone too far. He keeps saying that they will run the country according to the law and be advocates for the people. However, the fact is, common people have no channel to lodge a complaint when their property is plundered by the very people who are supposed to protect them. Moreover, the Falun Gong practitioners peacefully appeal to the government only for the right to practice the exercises and to improve their health. Even though Jiang Zemin has been persecuting them for over two years, they have never fought back and never displayed any bad conduct.
As an outsider, I'd like to appeal to the government to make a thorough investigation and solve this problem correctly. Jiang Zemin's regime should run the country according to the law so that we common people are sincerely assured that it is the country and not their own self-interest that they have at heart. Don't lose the support of the people.

9. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Warning to the "6-10 Office:" Stop the Reign of Terror
The state terrorist organization, the "6-10 Office," in Longkou City of Shandong Province ruthlessly persecutes Dafa disciples by forcibly sending them to brainwashing classes [Note: the "6-10" Office is a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branch]. Dafa disciple Yu Xiliu refused to follow the arrangements made by the evil forces. She escaped from the brainwashing class and became homeless to avoid further persecution. More than 20 practitioners were tortured into writing the "statement of guarantee"[renouncing Falun Dafa] against their wills. After they were released from the brainwashing classes, they immediately made solemn declarations that the statements they were tortured into writing were invalid and they would continue to practice Falun Dafa. They left their homes and once again joined in the current of Fa-rectification. Thus the "6-10 Office" scheme simply did not work.
Dafa disciple Lu Renjuan and Lu Yanna were forced to leave their homes to avoid illegal arrest and torture. They are now on a wanted list that has been circulating around the country. In order to capture Lu Renjuan and Lu Yanna, the "6-10 Office" has illegally searched their homes several times. Each time they confiscated more of their property. They even illegally jailed and brutally tortured Lu Renjuan's elder sister, Dafa disciple Lu Renying, and her younger sister several times in prison and in the brainwashing class. Under such intense pressure, Lu Renjuan's 70-year-old grief-stricken mother passed away. Before her death, she was quite clear in her mind that Falun Dafa is good and that Truth-Compassion-Tolerance is also good. At present, eleven people from three generations in her family are still firmly cultivating Falun Dafa.
We strongly urge the "6-10 Office" in Longkou City to stop persecuting Dafa disciples, and to stop all of its crimes committed because of Jiang Zemin's Reign of Terror. Otherwise, heavenly principles will not forgive these sins!
10. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] The Horror Behind the Scenes at the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp
Policemen in Shijiazhuang Labor Camp violate both national law the regulations of the labor camp. In order to make Dafa disciples give up their belief in "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance," the policemen use inhuman and extreme torture methods on them: beating, physical punishment, tying with ropes, hung up with hands cuffed behind the back, kicking, shocking with electric batons, etc. The police tie up the practitioner with a thin rope, circle the rope around his neck, and tie his hands behind his back. Then they use all their force to tighten the rope. The rope becomes tighter and tighter around the body of the practitioner, making it more and more difficult for him to breath. The pain is so intense that the practitioner sometimes loses control of his bladder. There have been instances when the rope was tightened enough to break a practitioner's arm. The police also instruct local ruffians and criminals in the labor camp to torture, abuse, and insult Dafa practitioners. Practitioners are often beaten up. Their mouths and noses bleed, their faces are bruised and swollen, and it is hard for them to walk. The police in Team #3 of the labor camp are the most vicious of all. The torture they use on practitioners consists of continuous sleep deprivation day and night, forcing them to stand for a long time, "riding a plane" or the motorcycle position, [The body in this position looks like the shape of an airplane. The head is bent down until it cannot go down any further, while the hands are pulled up and held at the highest point. The victim is forced to remain in this position unchanged for a long time.] or squatting on the floor, beating them on the neck and back wrist, etc.
The director of Team #3 whose family name is Chen, together with other policemen in his charge, often get drunk while they are on duty. In a drunken stupor, they beat and abuse practitioners, and instruct the criminal inmates to persecute them as well. They are relentless even with older practitioners. They beat and kicked 58-year-old Xing Wuqiang, tied him with ropes twice, and hung him up with hands cuffed behind his back. Eventually they couldn't even open the handcuffs and had to cut them with a saw. They forced the 54-year-old Shenzhou practitioner, Li Zhenshui, to squat in the corner of his cell, to "ride the airplane" and did not allow him to sleep. Several criminals in detention including Wang Sihong, Xu Gang, and Kang Xinjian beat up Li Zhenshui. His face was bruised and swollen, and it was hard for him to move. Then the labor camp awarded a "special prize" to the criminal inmates. A reduction of their term by one month and a promotion to "assistant leaders" of the cell was offered to all criminals involved in beating Falun Gong practitioners.
We urge the policemen not to be an accomplice in Jiang's Reign of Terror any longer. Wake up to the danger of heavenly retribution while there is still time.
11. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] The Criminal Activities of the Lawless Officials Zhang Cheng and Wang Yili from the Education Center of Daqing Petroleum Administration Bureau
Since July 20, 1999, the lawless officials Zhang Cheng and Wang Yili from the Education Center of Daqing Petroleum Administration Bureau have used various contemptible means to persecute Dafa practitioners in the Education Center precinct. They have held more than ten different brainwashing sessions in an attempt to force practitioners to renounce Falun Dafa. In each session, they extorted money from Dafa practitioners, usually from 500 Yuan to 4,000 Yuan per person [Note: 500 Yuan is equal to an average Chinese worker's monthly salary]. In two of the sessions, each Dafa practitioner was forced to pay an average of 210 Yuan every day as "accommodation expenses," which included all the expenses related to paying for the Education Center cadres and the "guards" appointed by each school. Besides, they also extorted 5,000 to 10,000 Yuan from each Dafa practitioner as a so-called "deposit." Some practitioners were forcibly sent to the brainwashing classes many times. When it became apparent that they could not shake Dafa practitioners' righteous thoughts at all, these vicious people, Zhang Cheng and Wang Yili, resorted to bribing the Police Department and the Police Station officials, with money to involve them in the persecution of Dafa practitioners. They forcibly sent 5 or 6 steadfast Dafa practitioners to a forced labor camp. They also illegally sent two practitioners to a mental hospital for further persecution, yet this plan didn't succeed because the mental hospital refused to take the practitioners in.
Currently, all these Dafa practitioners have firmly walked out of the forced labor camp. Some practitioners, who once went down the wrong path, have reawakened and now steadfastly cultivate Dafa. The Educational Center officials have long not allowed the practitioners to work, nor have they paid them their salaries. Recently, Zhang Cheng even threatened the practitioners who asked him for the deposit that he illegally withheld. He claimed, "The sensitive [any national holiday or other day that the Jiang Zemin regime considers sensitive or where there are many people around to see how badly Falun Gong practitioners are treated by the authorities] day is approaching. Now you come here on your own. I'll [soon] hold [brainwashing] classes for you."

It was a sunny day on October 27 in Cangzhou, Hebei Province. The air temperature was normal the whole day, and the weather forecast called for clear weather. At dusk, however, an overwhelming number of black clouds suddenly appeared in the sky. A whistling cold wind rolled in ominously. Suddenly there was thunder and lightning and heavy rain. Having no rain gear, people all ran to take shelter from the rain. Deafening thunder rolled continuously from the sky. An elderly aged teacher said repeatedly, "Celestial phenomenon, celestial phenomenon. It's just like this whenever the dynasty changed. The society is really in disorder." The heavy rain lasted for more than half an hour. It is unusual in the north for it to rain so hard, with continuous thunder for half an hour in late fall. In fact, the real reason is because the vicious people from Cangzhou City No.2 Detention Center persecuted 23-year-old Dafa practitioner Yang Mei to death. (It has been reported that Yang Mei was tortured to death on October 20, and her body was cremated on October 25.) Heaven was infuriated. This is a warning to the vicious people.
Since Yang Mei died, the principal criminal in the persecution of Falun Gong in Cangzhou City, with a guilty conscience, has been in fear of receiving retribution. During the National Day Holiday, he assigned many plainclothes police to guard his home.
15. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] The Brutal Acts of the Police from Aimin Police Station in Mudanjiang City
Sun Xiuqin, female, 55 years old. On October 26, 2001, Sun was illegally taken away at Sandaoguan by rough police officers from Aimin Police Station in Mudanjiang City. The police officers took turns beating her with wooden clubs. Her buttocks were bleeding and turned a dark purple color. After that, these thugs took turns slapping her face. When their hands began to hurt, they then slapped her face with books until her face turned dark purplish and became swollen. Sun could not even open her eyes. Despite the injuries, these brutal police officers did not stop. Instead, they became more cruel. The police bent one of her arms towards the back from above the shoulder, the other from under, and tied both her hands with tight ropes. To tighten the rope further, they changed ropes three times, and placed beer bottles behind her back to raise her lower arm. When she still refused to give in, the evil police force-fed her twice with chili and mustard powders. The torture methods immobilized Sun's arms and resulted in several bodily injuries. She also suffered severe mental trauma and she became numb to the outside world. Even so, Sun is still detained in the Second Detention Center of Xinglong in Mudanjiang.
Liu Nan, female, 28 years old. On October 13, 2001, Liu was illegally taken away by the brutal police officers from Aimin Police Station in Mudanjiang City. Police officers pulled her hair, rammed her head against the wall, and then kicked and beat her until she lost consciousness. The wicked police officers then took advantage of her unconsciousness by insulting her with indecent language and despicable acts.

A few days ago, headed by Kan Shicang, the vicious people illegally searched Falun Dafa practitioner Kan's home. For the pass two years, the personnel of the "6-10 Office" of Mengying County closely followed the Jiang Zemin criminal group's orders to brutally suppress the Falun Dafa practitioners in the county. In only two years, over 40 practitioners were illegally sent to forced labor imprisonment. They also shamelessly introduced their "experiences of persecuting the practitioners" to nearby counties and cities and became infamous.
Some time ago, one of the main criminals of the "6-10 Office," Lei Yancheng, the vice general secretary of Political and Judiciary Committee of Mengying County, was fined 3000 Yuan for being caught while watching a pornographic video. But such a shameless thug was promoted to a county-level position and received the "Advanced Award" from the county government because of persecuting practitioners.

After July 20 1999, I had money extorted many times by Jiang Zemin's group of criminals because I validated Dafa and clarified the truth to the people. The extortions brought difficulties to our life and thus my husband couldn't understand me and was angry at me often. Once, I went returned home late from clarifying the truth. At this time, I saw you in white gown like those Buddhas in the temple. I had a feeling in my heart. It told me that I must find you because only you can save me." I told him, "This is our Teacher giving you a hint. You should start cultivation immediately."
He said he would listen to me while I was reading a Dafa book. He had a headache while listening to it. I knew it was the evil factors controlling him. One night, I was reading in the living room. He got up from the bed and wanted to walk out of the house. I turned to him and spoke to him seriously, "Go back to sleep." He immediately returned to bed. I understood it was a demon trying to interfere with my studying the Fa and rectifying the Fa. I made up my mind to clean it up thoroughly.
Two days later, my husband seemed to wake up. He said, "Let's read Zhuan Falun together." From then on, my husband started on the path of cultivation. Not surprisingly, the environment of our family has completely changed.
19. [China] Directly Facing the Past and Working Harder to Catch Up With the Fa Rectification
Practitioner Han Laifeng is a female resident of Ma'an township Yitong County. She was 48 years old. On February 23 2001, she was abducted and taken to a brainwashing class in the county party school. Due to her human attachments, she couldn't bear the evil torture and wrote the so-called "Letter of Guarantee," "Statement of Breaking Away" and also signed her name on a banner slandering Dafa. After she went back home and began to study the Fa, she found her attachment and realized she was on a wrong path. She was very regretful. She sent a solemn statement to the party school declaring that they should withdraw all previously written statements and letters. She began to clarify the truth to the people with her compassion and righteous thoughts.
One month later, the evil thugs detained her. In the detention center, she didn't comply with the evil. No matter how the evil tried to threaten and lure her, she always faced the evil with righteous thoughts. She also promoted Dafa with the compassion of a Dafa practitioner.
Later, she walked out of the evil den and back into Fa rectification with all her body and soul.
20. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Xiangtan Practitioners Being Persecuted
Practitioner Xiao Zhixiang, a retired cadre of a gas company, was illegally detained in Xiangtan Detention Center because he went to Beijing to appeal in 1999. On November 7 2001, he was secretly sent to Yuanjiang Forced Labor Camp.
Practitioner couple Zhang Shengjia Tang Liping were arrested from their home by the evil forces and were detained in Xiangtan Detention Center. After 3 months, the evil forces transferred Zhang Shengjia to his hometown of Liuyang City. Even now, the authorities do not allow the couple the freedom to visit each other.
21. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Lawless Officials Set Up the Laughingly Named "38-60 Army" to Help Suppress Falun Gong
The evil forces of Jinan City wanted to arrest more practitioners. They assigned special agents, plainclothes policemen, thugs and security guards of work units to arrest and chase down practitioners. Recently, the authority hired a bunch of middle aged up to older aged ladies to be their accomplices. People make fun of this "team" and called it the "38-60 Army" [Note:"38" refers to March 8th, the women's day. In China, people often use "3 8" to refer to women. "60" implies that the ladies are in their 60's].
Other news from Jinan city:
- About 10 a.m. August 22, female practitioner Dai Xiangli, 38 years old, was working in a frame factory of the Jinan Automobile Company. Some policemen from Jinan City Police Department, Wangguanzhuang Police Substation, guided by staff of security department of the factory, came to the workshop and took Dai Xiangli away by force. The evil force also ransacked her house. The reason, they explained, was that Dai insisted on practicing Falun Gong.
- Around 7 p.m. September 15, a practitioner was kidnapped on the Shandong University West Campus by plainclothes policemen. The practitioner was abducted to the Jianzhu Xinchun Police Substation. The policemen took 3000 Yuan away from the practitioner and confiscated a motorcycle, address book and other possessions. The police also brutally beat the practitioner up and intended to send the practitioner to a brainwashing class. The practitioner was not afraid of the evil and kept strong righteous thoughts. The next morning, the practitioner walked out. This stunned the evil force.
