1. In the middle of June 2000, Zhang, the Chairman of the Longsha police station, and Wang, the Chief of the Security Section, tortured a 29-year-old female Falun Gong practitioner. She was forced to bend down with her legs widely separated and her hands cuffed backwards behind her legs. The criminal police team declared that this method of torture would not cause any obvious surface wounds. They used unbearable tortures to force her to give up her practice and to renounce Dafa and Teacher Li. A week after being sent to a detention center, her feet were still numb and she could not roll over in bed. She lost sensation in her thumbs for an entire month.
2. Wang, a male in his 40's, is in charge of the "6.15" office [An office created by the government to deal specifically with issues related to Falun Gong] of the Longsha government. In the "Reform Classes," he has insulted Dafa and the practitioners and has brutally beaten the practitioners many times.
3. Hong, the Chairman of the Shuanghe Labor Camp, allows the instructors and criminals to use brutal methods to persecute practitioners. He once said, "There are plenty of methods to cope with you. If you die, we just have to fill out a form and hand it over to a higher-level agency. We do not have to take any responsibility."
4. Lin, the Chairman of Qiqihar Number Two Detention Center, is famous for beating people. He has mercilessly beaten practitioners many times. He forced one group of practitioners to take off all their clothes except their underwear and whipped them more than a hundred times. Their buttocks were bruised dark purple. The practitioners sometimes were not given food, but were forced to wash the officers' clothing, including their underwear.

The Minhanglu local police station illegally took Practitioner Wang from her work unit without informing her family and accused her of distributing Dafa material. A particularly cruel policeman not only brutally beat her, but also put centipedes into her mouth and in her pants. When she shut her mouth, he stuck the bugs into her nose. Wang asked the policeman, "How can you do this! Don't you have brothers and sisters?" The heartless policeman replied, "I am a demon without any brothers or sisters." Wang was detained for 15 days. Finally her family paid more than 10,000 Yuan (the monthly salary of average workers in Chinese cities is about 500 yuan) and her work unit wrote a guarantee to bail her out. Her husband said, "We are lucky that the XX party is so corrupt. Otherwise she would not have been released no matter how much money we spent."

5. The police at the Wenhualu local police station in Jianhua district have used brutal tortures to persecute practitioners. They wrapped the practitioners' hands with towels and hung them up by their hands. Then two police each pulled one leg to form a ^ shape and suddenly let go, causing the practitioners to fall forcefully and sprain their arms and ribs. This is an extremely cruel torture. The practitioners' hands swelled badly and some remained numb for more than a month. Some policemen also burned practitioners' noses with a cigarette lighter.
6. He Bin, a policeman at the Hubin local police station in Jianhua district, has mistreated practitioners on many occasions.
7. Big-Beard Yan (a nickname, his real name is unclear) from the Tienan police station in Longsha district brought a group of practitioners to the station because they persisted in practicing Falun Gong. He cuffed their hands backwards to special chairs with two holes in the back. These chairs are used specifically as torture instruments, and most local police stations have them. Deciding the cuffs were not tight enough, he wedged a cup in between to make them bite into the flesh. He continuously slapped the practitioners' faces. When he got tired of beating them, he would go out to eat and drink, and come back to resume the beating again.
8. Liu Xiao X, the Chairman of the Tienan police station in Longsha district, instructed his staff to illegally arrest and beat practitioners several times. He told others, "Falun Gong is my worst headache. The criminals are a piece of cake. If you reason with them (Falun Gong practitioners), you can't win. If you use hard measures, they start hunger strikes. The XX party is also not reasonable. We have to pay a 2000 Yuan fine for every practitioner in our district who goes to Beijing to appeal."
9. Practitioner Guan Yaru was sent to the Minhang police station in Longsha district because she distributed Dafa materials. Guards there hung her up by her thumbs. A wicked policeman squeezed her neck, using newspapers as a cushion (to hide his fingerprints), until she lost consciousness. When she woke up, the police pushed her head inside the toilet, spread her legs wide, and bent her body over and cuffed her hands behind her. Guan lost sensation in her fingers and legs for two months. Guan could not tolerate the torture and gave two practitioners' names to the police. The police then beat those two practitioners in a room downstairs. Hearing their crying, Guan Yaru felt her heart breaking. When the TV station came to tape her, they hid her bruises with a pair of sunglasses in order to conceal the truth of the persecution. She is now locked in the Shuanghe Labor Camp.
10. Currently, more than 200 practitioners are locked up in the Shuanghe Labor Camp in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province. They are from Harbin, Daqing, Qiqihar, Mudanjiang, and other places.
