(Clearwisdom.net) At the July 25, 2006 La Mesa City Council meeting, the Western US Falun Dafa Association made a presentation regarding the atrocious practice of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in China’s labor camps. The City Council was appalled and saddened by these atrocities. On September 5, Mayor Art Madrid wrote a letter to urge Congressman Duncan Hunter to continue addressing this very serious issue at the federal level. Below is the text of the letter.

Dear Congressman Hunter:
At the July 25, 2006 La Mesa City Council meeting, the Western US Falun Dafa Association made a presentation regarding the atrocious practice of harvesting organs from live Falun Gong (also called Falun Dafa) practitioners in China’s labor camps. The group requested a resolution condemning China’s persecution of Falun Gong. Because of the international nature of their concerns, we felt that this issue would be best handled at the federal level.
The presentation also brought to the Council’s attention that in April 2006, 81 US Congress members co-signed a "Dear Colleague" letter initiated by Congressman Dana Rohrabacher urging President Bush to investigate these incidents in China.
We are appalled and saddened by these events, and as one of the co-signers of the "Dear Colleague" letter, I am writing to you today to urge you to continue addressing this very serious issue at the federal level.
We appreciate Western US Falun Dafa Association’s efforts to bring attention to this critical problem and encourage them to continue this course.
