In A Few Words: Please Pay More Attention to Selecting Truth-Clarifying Materials Overseas

June 02, 2007 |   By a practitioner outside of China

(Clearwisdom.net) During a discussion on how to resolve some people's notions of "Falun Gong is getting political," and how to clarify the facts about Falun Gong better, we found a problem. Practitioners who pass out materials at airports, tourist spots and Chinese embassies and consulates do not have enough materials that directly clarify the facts about Falun Gong. They often pass out the Epoch Times and other newspapers. The Epoch Times doesn't directly clarify the facts about Falun Gong, and has limited power in this regard. Additionally, other newspapers distributed by practitioners can give people who are deceived by the CCP, an impression that Falun Gong practitioners are getting political.

Airports, tourist spots and the Chinese embassies and consulates are important places for practitioners to clarify the facts and display the demeanor of cultivators. Not many Chinese people have more than one chance to visit a foreign country, so what they hear from overseas practitioners is very important for them. So we suggest that those practitioners who clarify the facts at such places pay more attention to their choice of truth-clarifying materials. We suggest that they pass out materials that directly inform about and clarify the facts about Falun Gong, such as Minghui Weekly's overseas version, information on the "April 25" Peaceful Appeal, the facts of organ harvesting, clarifications about "getting political," the truth about the "self-immolation," the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and information on quitting the Chinese Communist Party. We should put more effort in helping people understand the facts, not just simply telling them the facts. We should avoid situations that require a lot of money and time, as people can develop a wrong impression that we are getting political. Our manpower and time are very limited, so we should try our best to give the Chinese tourists systematic and comprehensive information on Falun Gong.

Above is the outcome of our discussion. We hope that fellow practitioners will address this issue regarding what materials they distribute to people.
