Shanwei City 610 Office arrested three Falun Gong practitioners and sent them to Sanshui Brainwashing Center in Guangdong Province.

June 3

Ms. Zhang Sulan and her son are both Falun Gong practitioners. In the past few years, they have been homeless for seven years due to the persecution . On the afternoon of April 12, 2008, they were arrested by the police in Linghe District, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. Currently, they are both detained in forced labor camps.

June 4

An elderly farmer is sentenced to one and one-half years of forced labor for practicing Falun Gong.

As part of a 'pre-Olympic' crackdown, practitioners are being arrested, including those who have been persecuted in the past.

June 5

Mr. Cui dies soon after his return home from his third labor camp experience.

In April 2008 Ms. Zhang and other Falun Gong practitioners were given 5 year terms. She has already suffered long term imprisonment and torture.

June 6

Ms. Xu Jiarong dies soon after her release from a long detention.

When a detention center will not accept a disabled man, the authorites arrest his wife instead.

An elderly Falun Gong practitioner, previously released for poor health, is re-arrested.

June 7

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Yunqin is the head nurse at the Chinese Medicine Hospital in Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province. On April 15, 2008, she was taken by police from her workplace and detained for 15 days. During her detention, she was subjected to physical and mental torture.

June 8

Mr. Lu Quan died in prison. His family members found bruises on his body, but prison authorities refused to take autopsy and did not allow them to take the body back to his hometown.
