(Clearwisdom.net) On August 9th and 10th, Falun Gong practitioners from Belgium held an activity at the International Folklore Festival in Edegem. The aim of this festival was to bring people from all over the world together to celebrate their culture through music and dance. Countries that took part in the festival this year included India, Mexico, Uzbekistan, Spain, Turkey, Senegal, Serbia, Zimbabwe and Brazil.
At the Falun Gong booth, people could receive information about Falun Gong and learn about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Visitors could also learn how to make paper lotus flowers and listen to the story about Jane Dai and her daughter Fadu. Young people in particular were eager to make paper lotus flowers. Practitioners gave demonstrations of the Falun Gong exercises. This festival was a very good opportunity to promote Chinese culture along with Falun Gong. Some people said that they had attended the Divine Performing Arts Spectacular last year and enjoyed it very much.
The older man in the picture above (on the right) is an artist. He practices yoga for relaxation. The practice of Falun Gong attracted him so he took diverse materials about Falun Gong with him. Because he is an artist, he said he would definitely visit the Falun Gong Art website.
An agent for the International Red Cross who organizes activities in Antwerp every year was very interested in Falun Gong and asked if practitioners would be interested giving workshops.
Other people who received Falun Gong information were very interested in the practice and said that they would get more information on Falun Gong websites.
A man and a woman from India who visited the Falun Gong booth were traveling
around the world to sing. They were interested in the ancient Swastika symbol
which makes up Falun Dafa's Falun (Law Wheel) symbol. They told a practitioner
that in India, the Swastika symbol is a source of strength and the
representation of Lord Buddha. They hadn't heard about Falun Gong before, but
were very interested and took a lot of material with them. They were astonished
to see the Buddha symbol here.
