On August 4, 2008, Ms. Yuan Jieling and Ms. Liu Huirong went to Xieji Town to clarify the facts about Falun Gong but were illegally arrested by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel. On August 19, both of them were taken to a Brainwashing Center and their family members were prohibited from seeing them.
During the Olympic Torch Relay in Anyang City, Henan Province, disabled Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xiao Yunying was subjected to more persecution, and was unlawfully sent to prison on July 23, 2008.
On July 16, 2008, personnel from Tiebei Prison in Changchun City, Jilin Province, along with Jiaonan City Police Department in Shandong Province, arrested Liu Zhaojian, while he was visiting his hometown. The police claimed that he still had six months to serve on his sentence. Therefore, Mr. Liu had to return to prison.
The authorities released her on medical bail only after receiving a signed statement they would not be held responsible for her treatment or condition.
Mr Li developed suffered severe mental and physical problems after torture early in his imprisonment beginning in 2001. He was nevertheless continuously imprisoned until July, 2008 without treatment. His family is trying to help him cope with conditions such as brain atrophy.

Mr. Xi Changhai was arrested the third time on September 4, 2008, because the police suspected that he supplied computer and printer to a fellow Falun Gong practitioner.
