The illustrations indicates the tortures that Ms. Liu Dan suffered in the Heilongjiang Women's Prison. Ms. Liu Dan has staged several hunger strikes to protest the persecution.

Ms. Guo Chuanshu had been detained six times: twice sentenced to forced labor camps, twice sentenced to prison, and became paralyzed as a result of torture. She died in prison on August 9, 2009.

Witness testimony was submitted in written form and there was no opportunity to cross-examine witnesses.

On August 19, 2009, Ms. Li Chenghua from Fengrun District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor. She had been protesting her brother's arrest and had been forewarned not to appeal for her brother, Li Chengshun.

Mr. Jiang, a previously healthy farmer, entered Suihua City Labor Camp on October 30, 2008. The Camp Administration recently notified his family that he had fallen into a coma. His family saw him in Beian City Hospital with both legs covered with bruises and at the brink of death. Only a few days later, he died on August 26, 2009.

After Yang Guiquan died at Xindi Detention Center in Fuxin City on July 5, 2009, his friends tried to hire an attorney to investigate the circumstances of the death. However, no attorney has dared to take on the case.

Mr. Zhao Shoujin, a practitioner from Changtu County, Liaoning Province, was the deputy supervisor of Shibajiazhi Township, Changtu County, and a well respected cadre. He was illegally sentenced to three years in prison and taken to the Kaiyuan City Mental Hospital, where he has been tortured.

To force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their belief, guards at the forced labor camp tortured them with electric shock, forced feeding and sexual assault etc.
