Dance Group President: Amazing Choreography

Kaohsiung's County Labor Recreation Center was again honored by Shen Yun's amazing revival of ancient Chinese Culture. Among the audience members, Ms. Chuang Ying-Hsun, owner of Wisteria Dancing Arts Center and President of Cuckoo Dancing Group, came with her mother, younger sister and four dancing partners to watch Shen Yun Performing Arts' New York Company.

This was Ms. Chuang's 3^rd year attending Shen Yun. She said in an excited voice, "The choreography of the entire performance is truly amazing. The backdrop is extraordinary. The costume design, on-site musical accompaniment and the atmosphere are really excellent."

Ms. Chuang loved and was impressed with Wu Song Battles the Tiger. She said, "In addition to the dancing part, the contents and the storyline of the drama are excellent, too. The choreography is so nice that the director's professionalism is truly amazing. Within a short time span, the entire story of Wu Song Battles the Tiger was fully illustrated. Their facial expressions and body gestures are superb, making the audience feel as though they are experiencing it all in person."

"The backdrop is fabulous!" said Ms. Chuang, turning her thumbs up, complimenting the cutting edge way the background is shown. She believes this added to the effect of the dancing. "The skills of the dancers are outstanding. The display of emotion is lifelike. They are really good."

Ms. Chuang could not say enough good things about Tibetan Dance of Praise, saying "The dancers fully demonstrated the bold character of Tibetans, who live in the snow-covered plateau. Whether it is the collocation between dances and costumes or the overall coloring and music, every aspect of the piece is perfect. Especially, the male dancers presented boundless vigor. It is truly astounding."

The singing of soprano Ms. Huang Pi-ju also deeply touched Ms. Chuang. She explained, "The vocalist was incredible. Regardless of high-pitched or low-pitched, the resonance in her voice is very powerful. It moved me."

She added, "Every piece of the program was very good. The time passed by so fast. Even though the performance lasted more than two hours, I felt I had not seen enough. I really would like to stay and continue to watch."

Ms. Chuang said she sincerely looks forward to another Shen Yun performance next year.

Fine Arts Association President: 'Every scene as beautiful as a painting'

Wang Shixian is president of the Kaohsiung Caifeng Fine Arts Association. He was so impressed by Shen Yun, saying he had never seen anything like this before. He added that the effect created on stage by the dancing and high tech backdrop was unlike anything he had ever seen.

He said, "I think the program Wu Song Battles the Tiger was very successful. For ordinary shows, there might be fighting on the stage, but this show is different, as it illustrates with traditional dance."

Mr. Wang is also a long time painter, which gives him an eye for beauty. "The coordination of costumes and colors was marvelous. Take the program Flowing Silk for instance. It was very elegant and beautiful." After pausing, he praised every scene, saying they were all "as beautiful as a painting."

Mr. Wang concluded by saying, "The application of Hi-tech to the backdrops, the coordination of the backdrops and the performance, as well as the design of the stage, made the show very successful. Take Splitting the Mountain for instance. The coordination was perfect. As to Handkerchiefs, the difficult action of tossing handkerchiefs into the air and then grabbing them with one hand immediately was not easy. All in all, it was very creative, and indeed really wonderful."
