(Clearwisdom.net) On September 25, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Luo Meijun was informing the public about the truth of Falun Gong in Huaian County, when he was reported to the police. Luo Meijun was then beaten by Li Yanwen, the Director of Huaian Police Station and policeman Hou Guodong.
On July 20, 1999, the CCP launched a large scale persecution against Falun Gong. Luo Meijun wanted to tell others the truth about Falun Gong, and displayed some posters about Falun Gong. The Secretary of the CCP in Yiduqiang Village Li Jinming, (who has since passed away), and former Director of the Toubaihu Town Police Station detained him for fifteen days. The former Director of the Huaian County Police Station, Zhang Zhiqing and former National Security Team leader Qu Rong, extorted 5,000 yuanfrom him. In the detention center Wang Wanfu extorted 2,000 yuan. Afterward people from the Toubaihu Town and Yiduqiang Village Committees harassed Luo Meijun at his home many times.
At around 8 a.m. on July 25, 2008, about fifteen people from the Toubaihu Town Police Station surrounded his home, confiscating a satellite dish, a receiver, and Falun Dafa books.
On September 25, 2009, Luo Meijun went to Huaian for business, and explained the truth about Falun Gong in a retail store. He told the people 'Falun Dafa is good and quitting the CCP could save their lives'. He was reported. The Director of the Huaian Police Station, Li Yanwen, and policeman Hou Guodong surrounded his car. Under the guise of checking his driver's license, they deceived Luo Meijun into going to the police station. The searched him and confiscated a few truth clarification materials, and 140 yuan cash with words about Falun Gong written on them. They also confiscated 1,200 yuan cash, which was for his business. They put shackles on Luo and and beat him. When Li Yanwen got tired, Hou Guodong continued. Policemen took recordings from him to collect for so- called evidence. They took him to the Huaian County Public Security Bureau to take photos, and then sent him to the Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou for fifteen days.
A team leader in the National Security Team in Huaiai County, Sun Yongjun and other policemen extorted 8,000 yuan from him before releasing him.
Luo Meijun's relatives went to the Huaian Police Station to retrieve their own car, but Li Yanwen fine them another 1,000 yuan and confiscated a new container of motor oil from the car.
The Director of the Toubaihu Police Station, Zhang Qing, and the Director of the Local People's Congress, Ye Changqing went to his home to ransack it and confiscated an MP4 and other Falun Dafa books, greatly disappointing Luo Meijun's old parents, a young child and other family members.
