(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces. In this report, 7 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 practitioners were "illegally arrested".
1. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Bai Sanyuan Force-fed in Lanzhou Prison
When Mr. Bai Sanyuan's family went to the Lanzhou Prison to visit him early in the morning on August 11, 2010, they were told they would meet him at 2:30 p.m. Mr. Bai was carried out at around 3:40 p.m., appearing weak with a very pale, deformed face. He could barely speak. The family's conversation through a telephone was cut off in less than 20 minutes. Mr. Bai was carried back.
Practitioner Bai has been on a hunger strike for nearly three months to protest his illegal detention. Lanzhou Prison officials brutally force-fed him every day.

2. [Tianjin] Ms. Song Yunling on a Hunger Strike; Currently in Life-threatening Situation
Ms. Song Yunling has been on a hunger strike since June 22, 2010, following her arrest at the hands of Nankai Police Department agents. She is currently in a life-threatening situation, often losing consciousness. Nankai Police Department officials covertly sentenced Ms. Song to seven years of imprisonment, which was reduced to three years' imprisonment and three years in a labor camp.
However, both prison and labor camp officials refused to accept Ms. Song due to her poor health. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
3. [Shanghai] Elderly Practitioner Ms. Fang Suzhen Arrested
Elderly practitioner Ms. Fang Suzhen lives in the Changning District, Shanghai. She was arrested when she was deceived into coming to the Huawu Neighborhood Administration Office at Huayang Street on August 10, 2010. Her whereabouts are unknown. Ms. Fang had previously served one year in a labor camp several years ago, having first been held in the Changning Detention Center and was then transferred to a brainwashing center.

4. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Yunfen in Tiegan Township, Shenze County, Arrested and Sent to a Brainwashing Facility on August 12, 2010
5. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Kong Qinghong and Two Other Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Kong Qinghong is a practitioner in her 40s. Liuxiang Police Station agents broke into her home, arrested her, and stole personal items from her home on August 12. They also confiscated her car and parked it at the Liuxiang Police Station.
Mr. Zhang, in his 60s, is a retiree from the Northern China Electric Power Plant. Liuxiang Police Station officials broke into his home and stole personal property. Mr. Zhang was arrested and is still in detention.
Mr. Ma, in his 70s, a retiree from the Shanxi Machine Factory, lives in the factory dorm on Jin'an West Street, Dunhua North Road. Liuxiang Police Station agents broke into his place, arrested him, and stole personal items from his home.
6. [Yanbian City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yan Caixia Arrested and Sent to Longjing Brainwashing Center
Ms. Yan Caixia is a Falun Gong practitioner in Tianqiaoling Town, Wangqing County. She was sent to the Longjing Brainwashing Center following arrest at her place of work on August 15, 2010.

8. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Song Shuying Arrested and Detained
Ms. Song Shuying is an employee of the Lingyuan Chinese Medicine Hospital. While she was clarifying the truth on August 13, retired deputy Party secretary Li Jinsheng from Lingyuan Town beat Ms. Song and reported her to the police. Beijie Police Station agents arrested her and kept her at the Dahenan Detention Center.

9. [Baoding City, Hebei Provine] Ms. Yan Xinpu Illegally Detained at Brainwashing Center
Ms. Yan Xinpu is detained in the Xiaobailou Brainwashing Center. She does not have a change of clothes or everyday necessities. Four other Falun Gong practitioners are also detained at the Xiaobailou Brainwashing Center.
10. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Shan Hanru and Ms. He Shufang Arrested
Mr. Shan Hanru and Ms. He Shufang were arrested on August 10 as they clarified the truth at the Tianning Temple and at another outdoor spot, respectively. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
11. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Police Arrest Ms. Jiang Xiuling
Ms. Jiang Xiuling is a practitioner in Xin County. Xin County Domestic Security Division official Zhang Hua and other agents went to Ms. Jiang's laundry shop and home. They arrested Ms. Jiang and confiscated personal property including Dafa books, and a picture of Master Li, and several truth-clarification DVDs. Ms. Jiang is currently held at the Xin County Detention Center. This is her second detention.

12. [Luancheng County, Hebei Province] Update on the Illegal Detention of Ms. Hao Xinxia and Ms. Gao Ruiqin
Ms. Gao Ruiqin and Ms. Hao Xinxia each were sentenced to a one-year labor camp stay. However, Ms. Hao's physical examination disqualified her from forced labor, and she was able to leave detention with righteous thoughts. Ms. Gao was sent to the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp on July 13, 2010.
13. [Guantao County, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Lanying Arrested
Ms. Sun Lanying was arrested the morning of July 27, 2010. Personal property was confiscated at the time of her arrest. She is now at the Guantao County Detention Center. Police also went to harass practitioners Ms. Ban Xiuling and Ms. Wang Jiangyan at home. Ms. Ban was not at home. The police confiscated a picture of Master Li.
Domestic Security Division official Li Junshan brought police officers to Ms. Ban's home again after July 27, attempting to arrest her. Ms. Ban was again not at home. Li Junshan ordered Ms. Ban's husband to report to the police. Li Junshan recently attempted to extort 10,000 yuan from Ms. Ban's husband, but was refused. He also attempted to extort 10,000 from Ms. Sun's family members.

Ms. Xu Shengqun is a practitioner in the Junshan District, Yueyang City. Officers from the Jinpen Police Department in Yueyang City arrested her on March 13. A court hearing will be held soon.

Police arrested the following practitioners at 10 a.m. on August 12, 2010: Mr. Zhang Xiuzhong, Mr. Gu Qiang, Mr. Liu Gairong, Ms. Zhao Fengzhen, Ms. Yuan Guihua, Ms. Xing Guozhi, Mr. Chen Po, Ms. Huan E, Ms. Zhang Lianrong, and Ms. Fan Xifeng.

Ms. Gao Ruiying, in her 30s, lives in Luan County. She was arrested around August 10, 2010 while clarifying the truth to people.
17. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hua Yuxiang and Ms. Sun Yanfang Arrested
Ms. Hua Yuxiang and Ms. Sun Yanfang went to post truth-clarification materials in the Fanghuayuan Community, Chujia, Laishan District. Officers from the Chujia Police Station arrested them about 8 p.m. on August 13, 2010. They are now in the Nanjiao Detention Center.
