(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in nine provinces. According to this report, 20 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Mr. Liu Wenjiang and Ms. Yu Rong were arrested on the evening of December 1, 2011 in Leting County. Officers from the Tingliuhe Town Police Station made the arrest and took them to the Leting County Detention Center. Police ransacked the practitioners' homes the next day.

2. [Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Han Lei Held in the Jinnan Brainwashing Center

Ms. Han Lei, 40, from Chenjia Village, Shengjing Town was arrested on October 13 as she was speaking with people about Falun Gong on the street. Officers from Shengjing Police Station made the arrest, and held Ms. Han in the Zhangqiu City Detention Center for two weeks, before she was sent to the Shandong Province No. 2 Forced Labor Camp Brainwashing Center. In late November, Shengjing Police Station officers extorted 2,000 yuan from Ms. Han's family before sending her to the Jinan Brainwashing Center.

3. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Shuzhen and Others Arrested

Ms. Li Shuzhen, about 60 years old, along with a practitioner in her seventies, were arrested on the morning of December 6, 2011 as they were speaking with people about Falun Gong. They are currently in the Donghuan Road Police Station.

4. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhou Xiangdang and Ms. Li Xiangling Couple Sent to Langfang

Among five practitioners who were arrested on November 21, Mr. Wang Xiaojun and Ms. Zhu were taken to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City where a physical exam disqualified them from being incarcerated. They have since been released. Another male practitioner was severely beaten and his family has taken him home. Mr. Zhou Xiangdang and his wife, Ms. Li Xiangling were sent to Langfang on November 30.

5. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Shulan and Ms. Liu Yan Illegally Sentenced

Ms. Liu Shulan and Ms. Liu Yan were detained by officers from the Huantai County Domestic Security Division on December 8, 2010. Their homes were ransacked. Huantai County Court officials put the two practitioners on trial on May 17, 2011, and illegally sentenced Ms. Liu Shulan to four years in prison, and Ms. Liu Yan to three and a half years of imprisonment. Both practitioners appealed their cases to the Zibo City Intermediate Court on September 23, 2011. The court rejected their appeals on November 9, and upheld the original sentences. Ms. Liu Yan, 55, is currently in the Zibo City Detention Center. Ms. Liu Shulan, 65, was released on bail because of her high blood pressure.

7. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Peng Haifeng Taken Away from Home and Sent to Wuhan Brainwashing Center Early on the Morning of December 1

8. [Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Ziming Faces Forced Labor Term

Mr. Li Ziming was arrested on the afternoon of October 23, 2011 by officers from the Dongxiaokou Police Station in the Changping District. He was taken to the Changping District Detention Center in Beijing. His family learned on November 2 that the police attempted to subject Mr. Li to two years of forced labor.

9. [Dunhua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Changhua, Ms. Li Changli, and Ms. Zhu Yanwen Being Held in Dunhua City Detention Center

10. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Li Ping Subjected to Forced Labor Once Again After Previous Term Expired

Mr. Liu Ping was fired from his job in 2009, and made a living by selling books. He was arrested as he was speaking with people about Falun Gong, and subjected to two years of forced labor. After his term expired, he was given another two year forced labor term. Whether he is alive is currently unknown.

11. [Meihekou, Jilin Province] Ms. Lin Shuyuan Died As a Result of Frequent Harassment and Persecution

Ms. Lin Shuyuan from Hongmei Town has frequently been harassed by local police since 1999. The political head of the local police station, along with Domestic Security Division head Zhang Junwei and others, broke into Ms. Lin's home many times between April and September, 2011. They searched her house, threatened her, and confiscated her books and materials. Ms. Lin was devastated both physically and mentally. She subsequently became ill and bed-ridden, and died on November 25, at the age of 76.

12. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yingqi Robbed by Police

Xixia Domestic Security Division officers, along with officers from the Songshan Town Police Station, arrested Ms. Wang Yingqi in Hanqiao Village, Songshan Town on the morning of November 30. They took Ms. Wang's computer, eight copies of Hong Yin Volume III, 300 copies of informational materials, and other personal belongings.

Ms. Li Rong from the Chengxin No. 2 Residential Area was arrested on November 25 by officers from the Donghu Police Department. She has not eaten anything for the last eleven days.

18. [Beijing] Elderly Mr. Zheng Jinzhi Arrested

Staff from the Xiluyuan Residential Area Neighborhood Committee in the Fangshan District arrested Mr. Zheng Jinzhi, who is nearly 70 years old, on the afternoon of November 25. Mr. Zheng had lived away from home to avoid the persecution after an attempt to subject him to forced labor was unsuccessful on July 20, 1999. He had been taking care of his wife who had difficulty taking care of herself. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

19. [Linghai, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Yazhi Arrested and Held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center

Ms. Liu Yazhi from Jincheng Town was arrested and taken to the Jinzhou City Detention Center on the evening of November 28. Her home was ransacked.

20. [Shanghai] Ms. Qiu Jianying Arrested

Ms. Qiu Jianying from the Pudong New Area was arrested on the afternoon of December 6, 2011 as she was distributing information about Falun Gong in a residential area.

21. [Mengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Dang Ruimei and Ms. Hao Yun Arrested

Practitioners who were recently arrested included Ms. He Rong from Hongxing Village, who was arrested in March but had been released, and Ms. Li Juxiang from Wutong Village, who was arrested in October.

Ms. Dang Ruimei from Wutong Village and Ms. Hao Yun from Huaishu Village were arrested on December 2 as they were posting information about Falun Gong.

22. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Rongxian Arrested

Yi County Domestic Security Division officers broke into Ms. Wu Rongxian's home in Gaojiajie Village, Chengguan Township on the morning of December 6, 2011. They arrested Ms. Wu and took her to the county's police department.

23. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Su, Mr. Zhang Weijie, and Mr. Xiong Weiming Arrested

Mr. Zhang Su, Mr. Zhang Weijie, and Mr. Xiong Weiming from Wuhan were arrested in April and May, and have been held in the Hubei Province Brainwashing Center for more than six months. They were taken to the Wuhan City No. 2 Detention Center on October 24. Mr. Zhang Su was physically weak as a result of physical abuse and mistreatment, and his blood pressure was above 200. The detention center refused to admit him three times, but the Wuhan City Police Department insisted on holding him in the detention center. The three practitioners were arrested again on December 1.
