(Clearwisdom.net) Our apartment building is located in an up-scale quarter of the city; those who live in our building are affluent and influential. None of the thirty families in our building is easy to deal with. Before practicing Falun Gong, I believed that “people tend to bully those who are kind-hearted.” As a result, I never let anyone take advantage of me and had conflicts with almost every single person in our building, never losing to anyone in those conflicts. Hence, my neighbor gave me a nickname – the “evil witch.”
After cultivating in Falun Gong, I began to monitor my every word and behavior according to the teachings of the Fa so that I could improve and be a good person. I was able to endure insults and bullying. From then on, my neighbors treated me with respect, because they believed that I had changed into a brand new person.
Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to persecute Falun Gong in July 1999, the CCP’s slander and lies about Dafa poisoned people’s minds, and my neighbors’ attitudes toward me also changed; many of them dared not talk to me anymore. The Neighborhood Association assigned two persons to monitor my whereabouts at all times.
Being a Falun Gong practitioner, I must do the three things well; therefore, I began to clarify the truth to my neighbors. Some older ladies in my building are fond of shopping, so to clarify the truth to them, I would go shopping with them. While chatting and laughing, I told them the truth about Falun Gong.
I told them, “We laugh and have fun together. There is nothing that we cannot talk about, and at the same time, we’ve forgotten any unpleasant things. Don’t you all feel comfortable?” These ladies jumped and walked like little kids; one of them told me that her feet stopped hurting and another said that her back did not hurt anymore. I asked them, “Currently there are so many natural disasters and accidents. Do you have any idea how to avoid them?” I then told them to sincerely say to themselves, “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” They were all very happy to hear that. I told all the residents in the building to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
Once, the wife of the person who was assigned to monitor me fell and hurt her back. She was in severe pain and had to be bed bound. I told her the facts about Dafa, and said, “If you sincerely recite ‘Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ you'll be able to walk in seven days.” And just as I had predicted, seven days later, she was able to walk. Her husband was amazed, and said, “That Falun Gong lady is miraculous.”
A few days after that, the light bulb in his living room burned out. He put a chair on the top of a table, a stool on the chair and then climbed up to the stool to change the light bulb. However, before he could stand still on the stool, the chair slipped and he fell. He hurt his back and broke his hip, and was bed bound. He asked his wife to call me for help several times, but she felt bad for what they had done to me and was hesitant ask for my help. One day, he told his wife to invite me over to their apartment as I was passing by. When I entered, I saw him groaning. He said, “I told my wife several times to ask for your help. I trust what you told us before.”
I told him, “If you do what your wife did last time – sincerely recite the words showing your belief in Falun Dafa, you should also heal quickly.” Just as I expected, he also healed, though not as quickly. When I passed by his apartment a few days later, he called out to me from his balcony, “Look,” he said, raising one of his crutches, indicating to me that he was still not able to walk very well. I said to him, “Throw those crutches away, and walk downstairs now.” When I came back later, I found out that he really did let go of his crutches and walk downstairs. He gave me the thumbs-up when he saw me, showing his happiness and support for Falun Gong. I knew that Master was very compassionate and merciful; when he truly believed that Dafa was good, Master healed him.
From then on, this couple told everyone that Dafa is magnificent and miraculous because they had experienced it themselves. After hearing them, the ladies in our building all began to believe in the goodness of Dafa, and they have experienced the benefits of Dafa. They are always very happy to see me, and they now understand what we practitioners are about.
Two older residents told me, “You must cultivate well because we all rely on you!” Hearing that, I was startled. I realized that Master had used their mouths to tell me that if I did not cultivate well, I would not achieve consummation; then where would all these people end up? I must solidly trust Master and the Fa, and fulfill my historic vow.
