(Minghui.org) Four elderly Falun Gong practitioners from Longtang Village, Yunmen Township, the Hechuan District, were arrested and taken to the police station for reading Falun Gong books in their home on March 26, 2012

Several young police officers surrounded 75-year-old Mr. Zheng Kaiyuan and slapped and verbally abused him. Their families went to the police station to get the practitioners released. Mr. Zheng Kaiyuan and his 83-year-old brother were released, but two elderly ladies—Ms. Zeng Xianhui (Zheng Kaiyuan’s wife) and Ms. Li Faxiu—were taken to a detention center.

Over the last ten years Mr. Zheng Kaiyuan has been arrested twice and his home ransacked six times. The village Chinese Communist Party secretary and the deputy Party secretary led the way, with Yang Qilong, Zhao Gaobin, Zhang Hongrui from 610 Office and police from the local station, to ransack his home five times over the years. Party secretary Wang Yue and deputy Party secretary Ming Defu participated personally in one of the ransackings. Each time they took away Dafa books and Falun Gong truth clarification material. In this latest ransacking they confiscated three copies of Zhuan Falun, two MP3 players, five amulets(1), one cell phone, and paper currency with the facts about Falun Gong printed on the notes.

On the morning of March 26, 2012, Mr. Zheng Kaiyuan; his brother, Mr. Zheng Peigen; his wife, 66-year-old Ms. Zeng Xianhui; and a neighbor, 60-year-old Ms. Li Faxiu, were studying Falun Dafa books at Mr. Zheng Kaiyuan’s home in Longtang Village. At approximately 9:00 a.m. Party secretary Wang Yue and deputy Party secretary Ming Defu broke into the home. Yue shouted, "The government does not allow you practice Falun Gong. You are still doing it." The practitioners tried to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to them, but they would not listen and called the Yunmen Township Comprehensive Administration Office (formerly known as the 610 Office) and Yunmen Police Station.

At 10:00 a.m. six officers—including Yuan Xianlun and Du Bing from the police station and director Zhao Gao Bin and Zhang Hongrui from the Comprehensive Management Office, who have been participating in the persecution for a long time—arrived at Mr. Zheng’s home. They grabbed the Falun Gong books, ransacked the house, and illegally arrested the practitioners. They handcuffed Mr. Zheng Kaiyuan, then pushed and dragged the four elderly people into two police vehicles and drove them to Yunmen Police Station.

Two big plainclothes police officers from Hechuan were waiting for them to arrive. They forcefully searched the four practitioners, and locked them separately in small rooms on the third floor of the police station for interrogation.

Mr. Zheng Kaiyuan refused to answer any questions and refused to have his picture taken. Several young police officers surrounded him and slapped his face hard and verbally abused him. Mr. Zheng refused to have his fingerprints taken. They beat him and pried open his fist to get his fingerprints. Mr. Zheng’s hands, wrists, and arms were injured, and his left eye was blue and black. They also poked the practitioners' fingertips with needles to get blood for testing. The practitioners were not allowed to use the restroom. When they could not hold it any longer and wet the floor, the police forced them to take off their clothes to wipe it up.

In the evening, when their families heard about what had happened, they went to the police station at 7:00 p.m. and asked for the practitioners to be released. The police refused to comply and also would not allow them to see them. Mr. Zheng Kaiyuan's son, Xiao Zheng, questioned the police: "My parents reading at home is not illegal. Why did you arrest them?” Director Zhang Yong shouted, "My superiors said that Falun Gong is illegal!" Xiao Zheng asked him to show where in the Chinese Constitution, laws, or related documents it says that Falun Gong practitioners are to be arrested. They could not provide anything. They finally handed Xiao Zheng a “regulation regarding the Huidaomen” from several decades ago. After reading it, Xiao Zheng said, "Falun Gong is not mentioned here." The police said, “That is our interpretation.” Xiao Zheng replied, “I would like you to write your decision and sign it with your name and your department's seal and I will take it to your superiors to see what they say.” They did not dare to write anything and therefore had no more excuse to detain the senior individuals.

The police then threw the four family members out of the police station. The relatives went to the home of Village Party secretary Ming Defu and asked him why he had called the police to arrest their parents. Ming Defu said, "We have been monitoring your parents' home for a long time. Once anyone comes, they will report to us. We have to report to our superiors. I am the dog of the upper levels.” When Ming Defu saw they weren’t prepared to leave, he chased them out of his house.

Xiao Zheng rushed back to the police station again but the gate was closed, and the police inside ignored their calls. Around 11:00 p.m., they saw two Ms. Zeng Xianhui (Xiao Zheng's mother) and Ms. Li Faxiu (Xiao Yang's mother) being escorted by police into a police vehicle. Xiao Zheng and Xiao Yang hurried to the entrance and asked, "Where they are taking our mothers in the middle of the night?" The person who opened the door quickly locked it and replied from behind the door, "We are sending them to Hechuan for an exam." They asked, "They are fine. What are they being examined for? Where are the others?" He replied, "They will be released in a while.”

Police handed a document to the two men at Hechuan to review. They said it looked okay, and there was no need to redo it.

About 11:30 p.m. Xiao Zheng took Mr. Zheng Kaiyuan home. Zheng Peigen (his family did not know his situation) was taken home by the police. The police took Ms. Zeng Xianhui and Ms. Li Faxiu to the detention center for further persecution.
