(Minghui.org) On April 20 and May 5, 2011, the Wuhan Municipal Public Security Bureau National Security Service arrested nine Falun Gong practitioners. Their names are Mr. Feng Zhen and his brother Feng Yun, Mr. Zhang Su, Mr. Zhang Weijie, Mr. Xiong Weiming, Mr. Xia Yang, Ms. Zhu Chunlian, Li Guohua, and Ms. Han Shuhua. Illegal trials will be held against them in Wuchang district court in Wuhan city.

Feng Zhen, Feng Yun, Zhang Su, Zhang Weijie, and Xiong Weiming have hired lawyers from Beijing to defend them.

Currently, the above five Falun Gong practitioners are held at Wuchang District Detention Center. The four others were released on bail. But on April 17, 2012, Xia Yang was arrested again, and Li Guohua, Han Shuhua and her family has been harassed by Wuhan City Public Security Bureau ever since.

On April 4, 2011, Xia Yang, Zhu Chunlian, Li Guohua, Han Shuhua, and Xiong Weiming were arrested and taken to Erdaopeng brainwashing center, where they were not allowed to sleep for five days and were tortured in order to force them to give up cultivation and identify other Falun Gong practitioners. Eventually, one after another, each was transferred to Beihu Farm Brainwashing Center in Qingshan District or Hubei province's brainwashing center for continued persecution.

In June 2011, Xia Yang, Zhu Chunlian, Li Guohua, and Han Shuhua were released on bail awaiting trial. Feng Zhen and his brother Feng Yun were first detained at the Wuhan City Second Detention Center and later transferred to the Wuchang District Detention Center.

Zhang Su, Zhang Weijie, and Xiong Weiming were held for six months at Hubei province Brainwashing Center for “transformation,” then transferred to Wuhan City Second Detention Center, and later transferred to the Wuchang Detention Center.

Zhang Su was so maltreated at Hubei Province Brainwashing Center that he is in danger of dying at any moment. Wuhan city's Second Detention Center refused to allow him to be transferred on three occasions for fear that he would die there. However, the Second Detention Center, under pressure, reluctantly accepted Zhang Su. When he was taken to Hong Shan prison hospital for treatment, the authorities refused to admit him.

After obtaining “evidence,” Hubei provincial 610 Office wanted the Procuratorate to prosecute these Falun Gong practitioners. But the trumped-up evidence had no corresponding legal provisions, which caused the Procuratorate to eventually reject their cases.

In early October 2011, the Procuratorate was once again urged by the 610 Office to prosecute the practitioners. The request was again rejected by the Procuratorate. On December 19, 2011, agents of the 610 Office forcibly instigated, on orders from Zhou Yongkang, an attempt to cook up “major cases” so that the Wuchang District Procuratorate would prosecute the nine Falun Gong practitioners.

Wuchang District prosecutor Zhang Wei, in charge of these cases, has repeatedly refused to meet with lawyers and families of the nine detainees, and has also refused to let lawyers see any files.
