(Minghui.org) Ms. Cui Hai, 64, was recently arrested and is being secretly detained by the Domestic Security Division of the Wuhan Police Department. This is the fifth time that Ms. Cui has been arrested for her belief in Falun Gong. Her family is very worried about her safety.
After Ms. Cui had been missing for almost two months, her family received a call from the Domestic Security Division of the Wuhan Police Department, saying that she had been arrested. The police asked the family to deliver clothes for her. The family member who delivered the clothes was not allowed to see Ms. Cui, and details on where she was being detained were not disclosed.
Ms. Cui Hai is from Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. She served in the military and was transferred to a civilian job at the Wuhan Chemicals Import and Export Company. She was once posted to Guangzhou as a general manager because of her abilities. She was a great contributor to the company. Later on, she was diagnosed with gallstones, as well as severe gastric and gynecological diseases. She tried many treatments but her health did not improve. She began practicing Falun Gong in 1996. Soon after, all of her illnesses disappeared. After that, she plunged into work with a healthy body and more energy and enthusiasm. She was greatly admired by both her company leaders and colleagues.
Illegal arrest
On the morning of September 6, 2012, someone intentionally cut off the electricity to Ms. Cui's home in Qianshuiwan, Xianggang Road, Hankou, Wuhan. Once the electricity was restored, there was a constant knocking on her front door. That same day, her electricity was cut off three times. The next morning, it was cut off again and never restored. Ms. Cui realized that someone downstairs was monitoring her, and she was forced to leave her home.
Afterwards, the CCP personnel searched the area, seeking to illegally arrest Ms. Cui. In October 2012, her son and daughter were threatened and harassed by the Wuhan 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division of the Wuhan Police Department. On the night of October 17, 2012, the police searched her home and her younger sister's home. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and a computer. After this event, Ms. Cui went missing.
Thirteen years of persecution
Over the past 13 years, Ms. Cui Hai had been repeatedly arrested, detained, and sentenced because she refused to renounce Falun Gong. After being held in prison for three years, she was fired from her job, and thus lost her salary and benefits. She is now being secretly detained and tortured again.
Ms. Cui was detained at the Hanyang Second Detention Center twice by the First Section of Wuhan Police Department (now the Domestic Security Division) because she went to the Hubei Provincial Government to appeal for justice for Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. She was detained for more than three months. The police department extorted 5,000 yuan from her family before releasing her.
Ms. Cui was arrested at Tiananmen Square on May 13, 2000. She was taken back to Wuhan by the Wuhan Police Department Beijing Office and detained in the Wuhan First Detention Center. Later on, the Jianghan District Court sentenced her to three years in prison. She was detained in the Wuhan Women's Prison.
In prison, Ms. Cui was often forced to stand for days and nights at a time by chief guard Chen Ying because she would not give up her belief. One day, Chen Ying had her stand under the hot sun. This lasted into the night. Ms. Cui was tormented by mosquitoes at night. It had been a hot day, but she was not allowed to shower or sleep. After two days and nights, Chen Ying handcuffed Ms. Cui and hung her from the window bars. She was not allowed to sleep for eight consecutive days after she was taken down. Her legs below the knees were terribly swollen, and her feet were so swollen that she could not wear shoes.
Later on, the guards forced Ms. Cui to do heavy farm work. She had to work under the hot sun when it was about 40℃. The guards subjected her to brainwashing tactics at noontime and in the evening. They ordered seven or eight prisoners to besiege her. She was not allowed to rest until 2 a.m., even though she had to get up at 5 a.m. This torture lasted for about four months during the summer.
After Ms. Cui was released from prison, personnel from the local 610 Office frequently harassed her. During the 2008 Beijing Olympics, officers from the Wuhan 610 Office and the Wuhan Police Department went to her relatives' home and tried to arrest her. They also threatened her relatives. Then, before the 18th National Congress, CCP personnel arrested Ms. Cui again. They are secretly detaining her under the pretext of “maintaining social stability.” This is the fifth time that Ms. Cui has been arrested for her belief in Falun Gong. Her family is very worried about her safety.
