(Minghui.org) With the Chinese New Year approaching, Falun Dafa practitioners held activities near the Vancouver Art Gallery to offer their greetings to their respected Master, Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa. While there, the practitioners took the opportunity to raise awareness about Falun Dafa to passersby.

The Elderly Mr. Zhang Plays the Cymbals

With a rosy complexion, Mr. Zhang played large cymbals in the Vancouver Falun Dafa Waist Drum Team. He walked at the front of the Team and the cymbals flew up and down in his hands agilely. Most people would find it hard to believe that he was 78 years old. One time a tourist in Vancouver saw the performance of the Team and said, “They are so energetic—that kind of vitality comes from within.”

Mr. Zhang did not start practicing Falun Dafa until 2008 when he was 74 years old. He said that it was the most fortunate event of his life. Most of his friends are either ill or have passed away, but he is almost 80 and is in great health. He participates in many activities to help raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China. He wanted to take this opportunity to thank Master for his good health and improved moral character.

Change of Heart After Practicing Falun Dafa

Ms. Yu, dressed in a traditional Chinese costume, stood on the street quietly distributing informational materials to passerby. She just came from China six months ago and is a student at the University of British Columbia. She knew about Falun Dafa since she was little because some of her family members were practitioners. She had misunderstandings about Falun Dafa after the persecution started in 1999 when the Chinese regime launched its propaganda campaign against Falun Dafa. It was not until two years ago in 2011 that she began to read Falun Dafa books. Thus, another door had opened for her and she became a practitioner. Her insomnia disappeared and she became very healthy. “Falun Dafa, it is amazing!” she said.

Young Practitioner Graduates and Finds a Job with Ease

Mr. Duan came to Vancouver after high school and became a student at the University of British Columbia. He got a job right after he graduated. Things seemed to work out for him very well. According to him, many of the students from China failed their classes because they were drawn to the decadent things of modern society. Mr. Duan said that through practicing Falun Dafa, he was able to recognize the negative social phenomena. He avoided such things and quickly completed his studies and found a job in Canada. His supervisor was very impressed with his performance at work and his father was happy with his choice of career. He wanted to thank Falun Dafa for teaching him the true meaning of life and bringing him onto the path of returning to his true self.
