(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Meiping, a former judge and Falun Gong practitioner, is facing another illegal trial on February 27, 2014 at the Mei County District Court in Guangdong Province.
Ms. Li has been detained at the Fuda Detention Center in Mei County since her arrest on December 11, 2013. Her attorney has managed to visit her there for about an hour. She was diagnosed with cervical vertebrae spondylosis on January 24.
Ms. Li's case case, upon being submitted to the Mei County District Procuratorate, was rejected at the end of December. However, officer Luo Zhanxiong at the Domestic Security Division did not give up. He fabricated evidence and resubmitted the case. Ms. Li is now facing trial.
Ms. Li’s elderly mother has tried to rescue her by repeatedly visiting the Mei County District Police Department, the Procuratorate, and the 610 Office.
Ms. Li was a judge at the Meijiang District Court in Meizhou City. She has been arrested and persecuted many times for refusing to give up the practice of Falun Gong. She has been wrongfully imprisoned for a total of at least seven years.
While doing the Falun Gong exercises on January 1, 2000, with a group at the Meizhou City Cultural Park, she was arrested by police from the Meijiang District and taken to the Qinhuang Detention Center. She was later taken to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in Guangdong Province, where she was tortured for three years.
On November 10, 2004, Ms. Li was on her way to distribute Falun Gong flyers in Meizhou City when she was arrested and later sentenced to five years in prison.
Ms. Li was severely tortured at Guangdong Women's Prison. Under the name of gynecological examination, toxic drugs were injected into her vagina, which led to bleeding and the loss of her menstrual cycle for two months. She had difficulty getting out of bed for more than two weeks. The upper part of her body was sore, especially her back. She was released from prison sometime around August 2009.
Ms. Li was taken away from home on November 1, 2012. Her Falun Gong books, a computer, and other personal belongings were also confiscated. She was detained at the Qinhuang Detention Center in Meizhou City and then sent to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center. She was released on January 28, 2013.
