(Minghui.org) Like their counterparts in other countries, Falun Gong practitioners in Peru reach out to the public to introduce the benefits of this ancient cultivation practice and to raise awareness of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China.
Commemorating 15 Years of Peaceful Resistance
Practitioners in Lima, the capital of Peru, held a group practice in Soldier Park on July 20, 2014 to mark the 15th anniversary of peaceful resistance against the CCP's persecution.
The practitioners then moved to Chinatown. Passers-by accepted flyers and asked for more information about the persecution after seeing the banner worded “Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners.” The practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises on Calle Capón in Chinatown.

In the evening, they held a candlelight vigil at the Chinese Embassy to commemorate their fellow practitioners who have lost their lives as a result of the persecution in China.

Bringing Falun Gong to a Popular Home Expo
A home expo was held in Lima from July 24 to August 10, and the Peruvian Falun Dafa Association participated in the event. The “Journey of Falun Dafa” photo exhibition drew the attention of many visitors on the opening day of the expo. The photos included images of large scale group practice in China before July 1999, group practice outside of China and awareness-raising events in Peru.

The peacefulness and serenity of the practitioners' stall created a marked contrast to the noisy bustle of the home expo. Many people stopped by to learn more and to ask questions. A number of people signed a petition protesting the persecution and condemning the CCP's atrocity of forced organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.
Vendors from other stalls also came forward to ask for information about Falun Gong and several expressed interest in joining the group exercise practice in a local park.
During the last two days of the expo, the practitioners distributed color newspapers with news and information about Dafa to all of the participating business groups at the expo.
