By a Falun Gong practitioner in China

I met a farmer when I went out one day to talk to people about Falun Gong. I told him about how over 180,000 people had filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist regime, for launching and directing the persecution of Falun Gong.

The farmer thought the lawsuits were very important and said that Jiang is truly vicious.

“When he was in power we were unable to reach government targets even by giving away our entire annual crop yield,” he said.

He added that members of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are scoundrels, and that many of the common Chinese people were led astray by Jiang's corrupt leadership.

Another day I was talking about Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Gong and one of my relatives said that Jiang is so cruel that he turned not only Falun Gong, but also the entire nation against him.

“What’s wrong with Falun Gong anyway?” another person added. “It is wonderful for people to practice, especially since its fundamental principles are Truthfulness- Compassion-Forbearance. Jiang Zemin is just too evil. He even ordered the harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit.”

Officers Listen, Understand the Facts

About six Falun Gong practitioners in my area were called by local authorities, and some were harassed after they had filed criminal complaints against Jiang.

They mailed their complaints at the post office through the Postal Express Mail (EMS), but their letters of complaints were confiscated in Beijing and Langfang.

About four practitioners' homes were visited on September 8 by a couple of local government level staff members from the police station, street committee, and neighborhood committee.

A young man said that they were told by their senior officers to find out if the practitioners had filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. He asked that the respective practitioners sign letters of guarantee that they would not file any more lawsuits. Yet, even if they had no intention of suing Jiang, they still had to sign the statement.

One practitioner admitted that she had filed a complaint against Jiang Zemin. Before she continued, a young man stuck up for Jiang. He asked her if she knew that Jiang used to be president of China and if she seriously wanted to say something good about Falun Gong.

Another young man joined in the conversation and told her that it was none of their business if she thought that it was a good thing to practice Falun Gong.

“Yes, it’s indeed none of your business,” she said. “But why is it impossible for you to allow us to practice Falun Gong in the public park? I began to practice Falun Gong 18 years ago when I was at death's door. After I began to cultivate I became healthy again and I have not taken any medicine or visited a doctor since then. You can see how much medical expenses I have saved for the country.”

She continued: “Jiang launched the persecution of tens of millions of Falun Gong practitioners, which has lasted for 16 years, and practitioners are still forbidden to practice openly. And how many of them have been tortured to death or disabled?”

The young man who started the conversation said, “Auntie, I know what you mean now.”

They got up and left without another word.
