(Minghui.org) According to the Minghui editorial “Notice Regarding Suing Jiang,” published on September 7, 2015, “For practitioners participating in reporting Jiang's crimes, if your identity has never been exposed, then do not include your personal information. You may use a pseudonym. For practitioners who have been directly persecuted in mainland China, you can file a lawsuit using your real name.” Practitioners in my region had all kinds of reactions after reading the notice.

Some did not understand, and wondered, “Why were we initially asked to file lawsuits, but not anymore?” Some thought, “All practitioners should file lawsuits, whether or not their identities have already been exposed.” Some, who were afraid and did not dare to file a lawsuit, felt relieved after reading the notice. Some thought that Minghui wanted a large number, and that we needed to increase the number of lawsuits.

The reactions varied among practitioners whose identities had not been previously exposed. Some had filed lawsuits anyway for the sake of saving face or on impulse, and they now felt resentful and argued that using pseudonyms was not being truthful. Those who did not use their real names out of fear when filing lawsuits now thought they did right and cultivated well. They felt content and slacked off.

Some, who had been exposed previously, insisted that it would only be fair if everyone used their real names to file lawsuits, subconsciously thinking that “if the sky falls, everyone should die together.” Some even resisted distributing the notice to all practitioners, and only did so after reading the affirmation by Master.

After reading the editorial notice and discussing with fellow practitioners, I realized that practitioners' having various understandings of the notice was due to the attachment of jealousy.

Suing Jiang Zemin is done to save sentient beings. Details in the lawsuits filed by those practitioners who were not persecuted are not as touching and persuasive as those filed by persecuted practitioners. Their lawsuits merely add to the total number, at the cost of exposing themselves and compromising the security of the projects on which they work. Therefore, for the sake of saving people, they should not expose themselves.

If practitioners file lawsuits with the attachment of achieving consummation, saving face, or simply out of impulse, their actions are actually based on selfishness. After reading the editorial notice, these practitioners had regret, held grudges, or became jealous. How can divine beings respect these practitioners? Suing Jiang Zemin is a very solemn action. Therefore, we should rectify our understandings accordingly and look at things from the perspective of saving sentient beings.

Master taught us,

“The issue of jealousy is very serious as it directly involves the matter of whether you can complete cultivation practice. If jealousy is not abolished, everything that you have cultivated will become fragile. There is this rule: If in the course of cultivation practice jealousy is not given up, one will not attain Right Fruit—absolutely not.” (Zhuan Falun)

Master also said,

“Today I am telling practitioners that you should not keep yourselves in the dark without being enlightened to it. The goal that you intend to achieve is to practice cultivation toward high levels. The attachment of jealousy must be relinquished, so I have singled out the issue in this lecture.” (Zhuan Falun)

We must follow Master's teachings, be alert to the attachment of jealousy, and eliminate selfishness, thereby saving sentient beings effectively.
