(Minghui.org) As more and more Falun Gong practitioners file lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, local authorities across China have escalated their efforts to suppress the movement. Police are ordered to harass practitioners at home, and even to arrest them. Faced with police questioning, many practitioners are able to turn the tables and use the interrogation as an opportunity to explain why Jiang must be brought to justice. The following are two examples.
Well-Prepared Criminal Complaint Convinces the Police
When I prepared the criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, I held strong righteous thoughts that the document would help everyone, so I did serious research and listed key facts of the persecution.
After it was mailed out, more then ten police officers broke into my home and arrested me. They also ransacked my home. At that time, my computer, printers, printing papers, and more than forty Falun Gong books were right in front of their eyes. I was not afraid, nor did I think about anything besides sending righteous thoughts. It was truly amazing that the police did not notice any Falun Gong books or truth-clarification materials. It was as if they weren't even there.
In the police station, they brought out the criminal complaint that I had submitted, and asked me why I filed the lawsuit. I knew that the criminal complaint itself had all the answers, so I asked them to read it to me, so that I could answer their questions if anything was unclear.
The police officers indeed started to read the criminal complaint and to ask me questions. The document recorded the relevant facts and the legal basis, and they were organized in a logical way.
When they read the part about suing Jiang Zemin himself, instead of those who carried out the persecution, the police officers were relieved. “Suing Jiang Zemin himself? That's fine!” said the head officer. He walked out to make a phone call to his supervisor. Within a minute, he told me, “You can go home.”
My family members waiting in the hallway heard two police officers chatting, “Citizens can file lawsuits against anyone. It's legal. China ought to have human rights.”
After I was released, I visited everyone who participated in the arrest to make sure they understood the truth behind the persecution. All of them received me politely. Some of them promised that they would not persecute Falun Gong practitioners any more.
Jiang Zemin used the police to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. If every practitioner carefully prepared his/her criminal complaint, wherever the document was delivered and read, it would help save people, including the police officers who tried to harass or arrest us. From the criminal complaints, the police would learn what Falun Gong is and why the persecution is illegal. They would realize that they were breaking the law by persecuting practitioners. It gives them a chance to position themselves on the side of justice and have a better future.
Clarifying the Truth about Falun Gong to Police Who Came to Harass Me
Several police officers and local officials came to visit my workplace on August 25. They brought a criminal complaint filed by another practitioner in our village on June 10, and said that they would like to verify some facts. I was not sure if they already knew that I also filed a similar criminal complaint, but I was determined to use the opportunity to clarify the truth to them about Falun Gong.
I prepared tea for them and told them that I would tell them about Falun Gong, but they must not play tricks on me by collecting evidence for further persecution. They immediately stopped taking pictures and notes.
I told them that I also filed a similar criminal complaint because my brother died as a result of the persecution. I also told them that more than 100,000 Chinese people have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, following the legal procedure. I said our lawsuits only target the perpetrators, and it was time for them to position themselves.
After these police officers and government officials better understood what I was doing, they appeared to be much less hostile. The whole conversation was peaceful. When they left, they wished me good luck.
Looking back on the whole process, although I did not get to explain all the facts, because of the wisdom and strength from the Fa, I conducted myself in a firm and dignified manner. I think every practitioner should take this step to assist Master during the Fa rectification.
