(Minghui.org) I filed charges against Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate on May 31, 2015. As I found additional information, I re-submitted my criminal complaint against Jiang to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme People's Court on July 7.
Both documents were received and I was sent an acknowledgment. My husband called me on August 4, and told me that the police wanted to meet with me that afternoon at my workplace's security office.
A Bad Impression
A district police officer, the deputy director of the security office, and my husband had come to the security office in the afternoon and read my complaints. The police officer asked where I had procured my materials, and if I had met with others or downloaded the materials from the Internet. I was a little irritated by the confrontation, developed a competitive mentality and sense of resentment during the conversation, and was left with a very bad impression.
On our return home, my husband asked for a divorce because he was frightened by the police intimidation. I talked with a fellow practitioner who helped me find some of my attachments and omissions. I realized that it was irresponsible that I wrote complaints for fellow practitioners, and I did not clarify the facts about Falun Gong to my family members thoroughly enough.
Officer Violated Law Provisions
A Practitioner showed me the Minghui article “Citizens Having Filed Complaints Against Jiang Zemin Are Protected by Law.” This spurred me to do some additional research and I found “The Supreme People's Procuratorate Provisions on the Protection of the Rights of Citizens” from the Procuratorate's website. These documents reiterated how the police officer violated my basic rights during our encounter.
For instance, the Provisions state that the content of the complaints and the identity of the filer must be kept strictly confidential, and that the identity of the filer must not be exposed during investigations. It also prohibits the disclosure or transfer of relevant information about the complaints and its filer to his/her workplace, and it also does not allow showing originals or photocopies of the complaint during investigations. However, the police officer took my complaints to my workplace and shared it with my boss and my husband. He violated many rules this way.
“With Master and the Fa here, what is there to fear”
To help fellow practitioners understand the situation, I printed the Minghui article, made copies of the Provisions, shared them, and recounted what had happened.
Some practitioners suggested that I go to the police station to clarify the situation so I could subdue and stop the persecutors, as well as further clarify the facts about Falun Gong and save people.
I felt some anxiety. I was worried that I would irritate the police officers and face retaliation. However, this selfish thought disappeared with fellow practitioners' strong righteous thoughts and encouragement. Some practitioners went with me to the police station while some practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts at home.
A veteran practitioner encouraged me on the way to the police station. She told me to ask Master for help so I would only say what I was supposed to say, hold my tongue about things that I should not say, and so that no individuals or elements were allowed to interfere. I calmed down and told myself, “With Master and the Fa here, what is there to fear?”
Another Visit with the Police Officer
My fellow practitioners remained in the car to send forth righteous thoughts while I entered the police station and met with the police officer who had contacted my workplace and my husband.
I showed him the Provisions, pointed out all the violations he committed, and told him that his violations had caused serious consequences. I warned him that if my workplace or my husband decided to harm me in any way, I would file charges against him.
He was quite contemptuous, said that he was not afraid of any charges against him. He further threatened that he could restrict me from leaving the country at any time, and said that I was on the list of those to be monitored.
He badmouthed Falun Gong and told me that I could not talk to people about this cultivation practice. However, I told him that the so-called policy and orders that persecute Falun Gong are short-term, whereas the law has permanent power to prosecute. I told him not to violate the law in following the so-called orders, as he would have to take responsibility for all his actions in the end.
He seemed to have accepted my last point, but still said that he still could do what he wanted and that he did not care.
The Turnaround
I explained to the officer the significance of filing charges against Jiang, and that his job was to verify information, not to claim that the complaints were rejected, as ordered by his superiors. I said that every single complaint is powerful.
I also used everyday people's principles and said that besides using legal means to protect our basic rights as a citizen, filing charges showed our faith in the current administration as well as “The rule of law.” When the number of filings has grown to a certain point, it will be discussed in the People's Congress, and will be handled accordingly. I said that it is up to the high-ranking officials to decide what to do—all we were doing was expressing our wish for justice.
The officer then asked some questions about Falun Gong, including why practitioners do not take medicine, and I answered him in detail. I recited Master's poems, “An Upright Person” from Hong Yin, and “For the World's People” from Hong Yin III. In turn, he asked me if he should quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). I joked that it was his “faith” and that he had sworn to “believe” in atheism. He denied it, and said he only did it as a job. I smiled. I believe he understood the truth about Falun Gong and has positioned himself well.
The policeman called my husband and told him that there was nothing to worry about. He added that he would call my workplace if they were to give me any more trouble.
A Cultivation Breakthrough
During our meeting, I was not frightened or anxious but felt relaxed. I knew it was because my thoughts were righteous and Master strengthened me. I needed to break though my own obstacles to save the person in front of me, and, fellow practitioners' encouragement helped greatly.
With fellow practitioners' help and encouragement, I let go of my attachments. I understood that filing charges against Jiang is not an individual matter; it is part of our esteemed Master's compassionate arrangement to save more sentient beings during the process.
I also came to understand that most of the participants in the persecution do not understand the truth. If we clarify the facts to them effectively and rationally, they will be moved and understand.
Given our present understanding, my fellow practitioners decided to write a truth-clarification letter about filing charges against Jiang and mail it along with the Provisions to every police station, or pay a visit to them in person to remind them of their duties in this matter so that they can be responsible for themselves.
