(Minghui.org) There is a Chinese saying that goes, “A person needs a face, like a tree needs its bark.” To us, this proverb means that a person should live respectfully and with dignity, but I hadn't really thought about its other meaning.
There used to be two ash trees in front of my apartment complex that I liked very much.
However, one of the trees later died. I wondered why, and found out that someone had removed the tree's bark. In the past, my neighbors complained that the ash trees were too big and tall, and were blocking out the sun, but I didn't expect this to happen.
I then thought about the proverb, and obviously, a tree needs a bark to survive. Then I thought about “a person needs a face.” I can now relate this to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Ever since I was a child, I was told the how important the Communist Party was for our nation and how devoted the Party was to the people – This was the CCP putting on a face.
Although many people died during its political campaigns, or were even executed by the Party, being labeled “enemies of the state,” it seemed like they deserved what they got.
My views began to change as I grew older however, as I learned that the CCP attributed the famine in the late 1950s to a small group of officials, and shirked responsibility for the Cultural Revolution by blaming the “Gang of Four.” Even the democratic movement by students in 1989 was labeled a riot and was suppressed.
It wasn't until the persecution of Falun Gong that I came to fully recognize the nature of the CCP. Why would a group of peaceful practitioners be arrested, detained, tortured or killed for their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance?
After reading theNine Commentaries on the Communist Party, I learned that the CCP carried out all these persecutions and campaigns for its own interests, using ruthless violence and deceiving people by government-controlled propaganda.
In reference to the proverb - The CCP is trying to hide behind the face while carrying out its own agenda.
The CCP has penetrated all levels of the Chinese government and hijacked the entire nation to pursue its own agenda. Tens of millions of people have lost their lives. By persecuting Falun Gong and spreading hate propaganda, it has pushed people to act against their own consciences and accelerated the moral decline in our nation. Among its worst crimes is organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.
I believe that this will lead to the collapse of the Party.
More than 220 million Chinese have renounced their membership from the CCP's organizations and many officials responsible for the persecution have now been arrested with various charges. Over 200,000 criminal complaints have been filed against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the CCP, for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong.
The CCP will soon become a historical term, one associated with violence, lies and a force that opposed humanity as its true face is revealed.
