(Minghui.org) At least seven Falun Gong practitioners are currently incarcerated in Kangjiashan Prison in Shenyang, Liaoning Province.
Formerly the site of the Kangjiashan and Yinjia Forced Labor Camps, Kangjiashan Prison is a municipal prison under the jurisdiction of the Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Justice.

Besides Mr. Han Chunlong, Mr. Qi Yufu, Mr. Wang Shouchen, Mr. Xu Guangshu, Mr. Zhao Chenglin, Mr. Liu Junbo, and Mr. Du Changyin, additional practitioners are brought in every other month.
Kangjiashan Prison has four wards and a hospital. The first, second, and third wards house an average of 130 inmates. The fourth ward is meant for elderly and disabled inmates, and has relatively fewer detainees. There are between 400 to 500 total inmates serving terms of five years or less.
Coercion and Close Monitoring
When a Falun Gong practitioner first arrives at the prison, the inmates usually take him to a room without a monitoring camera to threaten him to renounce his belief. If he refuses, he is tortured.
The most common forms of torture include:
-Shocking with multiple electric batons-Savage beatings, especially on sensitive parts, with plastic bottles filled with sand-Splitting the legs-Sleep deprivation or starvation-Standing against a wall in a torturous position-Sitting motionless on a small stool for a long time

Usually, each practitioner is monitored around the clock by four inmates. They are surrounded by the inmates even when they sleep or eat. They aren't allowed to talk to anyone or make phone calls to their family members.
An inmate from the second ward once said that one practitioner was tortured to death in the third ward for not giving up Falun Gong, but the prison never suffered any repercussions.
Family Visits Strictly Regulated
The prison has strict regulations regarding visits from practitioners' families, who often have to wade through layers of approval before being allowed to meet with a practitioner.
After the practitioner’s family arrives at the prison, security at the entrance has to inform each ward. One guard tells the family to fill out a special sign-in form, only for Falun Gong practitioners, including the practitioner’s name, “crime,” and term. All family members also have to write down their ID numbers and verify whether or not they practice Falun Gong themselves. If they do, they are not allowed in.
The finished sign-in form is then sent to the warden, then to the administration office, and finally to the head of each ward. Even after the visit is approved, guards closely monitor the entire meeting.
Forced Labor
All of the Falun Gong practitioners and inmates at Kangjiashan Prison are forced to do manual labor for long hours each day without pay. The 1st and 2nd wards mostly make shopping bags that are exported to Japan, South Korea, Russia, England, and Mexico. The 3rd ward makes light bulbs.
The guards beat or electrically shock anyone who can't finish the daily quota. Many inmates suffer from long-term health problems as a result of excessive fatigue.
