(Minghui.org) Our local practitioners have talked to people about Falun Dafa for years at Changchun Shrine, a tourist site in the Taroko National Park, located in Hualien County, Taiwan.
One day, a tourist guide made an off-hand remark. He said that the practitioners only targeted Chinese tourists, which was a wake-up call for us. We soon started handing out fliers in Korean, Japanese, English, and other languages.
Then, we awakened to the fact that many Taiwanese had not heard about the persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners. They did not know that Dafa teaches people to improve their moral character. Thus, we decided to target townships throughout Taiwan.
Inspired by the car tour that called for an end to organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in Sydney, Australia in August 2016, we decided to launch a car tour of our own. We started our journey in October and distributed Dafa materials in different areas.
I visited mayors and their representatives and told them about Dafa. When the locations and best times for our petition drive against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime, were decided, we selected the groups for this task.
So far, we have covered eight townships, each consisting of several villages. Many practitioners who had not come out for a long time gradually joined this effort. Some practitioners who used to be hesitant to talk to people face to face became more confident and eloquent.
Our efforts were warmly received, and many people thanked us for letting them know about the persecution. It came as a surprise to us that no one had ever heard about Dafa and the persecution in one village.
I noticed last month that the directions on our petition sites were not very clear. After I informed the coordinator, practitioner A criticized me and addressed the issue during our group Fa study.
Recalling complaints from fellow practitioners since I became a coordinator, I suddenly felt resentful. The feeling grew stronger and I ended up having breathing problems. I sent forth righteous thoughts and recited Lunyu to calm myself down.
Then, I looked inward. I realized that I had kept problems to myself and did not try to actively resolve it.
After I started cultivation, I didn't interact much with non-cultivating friends and associated mainly with practitioners. We did the exercises, studied the Fa, and clarified the facts together. So I was emotionally attached to fellow practitioners.
I also realized that I had the attachment of jealousy, which is the root of resentment. I discovered that I had been jealous of this practitioner because she seemingly had unquestioned support from our local practitioners.
Once these attachments were removed, this practitioner and I shared how we had felt and spoke of our cultivation experiences. We both thus improved on the Fa and became more mature.
Now, I understand that a coordinator must encourage practitioners to come forward and work well with them. When practitioners do not understand or have different thoughts on any issue, the coordinator should first look inward for shortcomings and then listen, be tolerant, and respect all practitioners in his or her respective group.
