(Minghui.org) Mr. Hu Biyou went missing on the night of May 13, 2017, and his family looked everywhere, eventually finding out that police had ransacked his home and taken him to Lengjiang City Lockup.
Mr. Hu's family knew that he was targeted again for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Back in 2002, he was arrested after being reported for talking to his students at Hunan Chemical Vocational Technology College about Falun Gong. He was later sentenced to 4 years in prison and suffered brutal torture at the hands of the prison guards.
Mr. Hu's family hired a lawyer for him following his latest arrest. The lawyer defended his constitutional right to freedom of belief during his trial on September 7, 2017. The case remained dormant afterward until news broke recently that Mr. Hu has been sentenced to 1.5 years in prison.
It was learned that officer Yang Haizhou was assigned to the case, but more details regarding Mr. Hu's arrest and prosecution remain to be investigated.
