(Minghui.org) I am a 24-year-old male practitioner from Beijing who has cultivated Falun Gong for 13 years. For almost a year, I have been working in the medical instruments industry and have been able to interact with my colleagues and tell them the facts about Dafa.
Breaking the Firewall
There are five people in my department, including a manager. When I was hired, I did not tell anyone that I practiced Falun Dafa. Instead, I treated everyone kindly, worked hard, and mastered the skills needed to do the job.
The Dafa principles were my guiding principles and I thought of everyone else's needs first when dealing with my colleagues. I used my money to buy detergent, soap, and curtains for everyone to use. When my colleagues told me to get reimbursed, I said that this was not necessary. My supervisors think that I am very kind, meticulous, and patient.
I also bought fruit and cookies to share with everyone. Everyone got along well with me because they realized that I was not shrewd. Thus, they helped me familiarize myself with the workplace environment.
After reading interesting information from abroad, I shared it with my coworkers. I told them that I had software to break through the firewall. Everyone was very interested, so I gave the software to my three colleagues, which they installed on their cell phones. They wanted to find out the real story behind different incidents, such as the “June Fourth” Massacre of student democracy activists or the living conditions abroad.
One colleague told me that when he asked the customer service agent in a shopping mall to help him log onto the mall's public WiFi, he noticed the software and said “You are using this, too? Everyone here uses it as well.”
Introducing Falun Dafa to Colleagues
On the eve of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) 19th National Congress, the public security personnel conducted a nationwide “harassment” of Falun Dafa practitioners and broke into my home. My neighbor called me and said that the police had ransacked my home and confiscated a picture of Master.
Upon hearing this, I applied for afternoon leave. When my colleagues asked me if something had happened at home, I told them that I practiced Dafa and was persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the past. Given the 19th National Congress, the police went to my home and confiscated my picture of Master. I had to go and ask for it back.
My colleagues were very curious about me practicing Falun Dafa and asked me many questions, such as about the Tiananmen Square Self-immolation hoax, the next day. I answered them all and told them how Jiang Zemin used the self-immolation hoax to slander Falun Dafa.
“I have classmates who practice Falun Dafa,” Cheng said. “I've seen the analysis video of the self-immolation.”
Then I told them to break through the firewall and search for facts about Falun Dafa. They did and learned that Dafa teaches people to be kind and good.
My supervisors also knew that I practice Dafa, but had not asked me anything. Instead, he said, “I don't think anyone still believes in the CCP.”
Receiving Dafa Informational Materials
A few days later, I saw some co-workers chatting at the gate with truth-clarification materials in their hands. Also my colleagues in my department were reading the materials.
My colleague, Xiao Gong, told me that the materials were under the wipers of his car and thought of taking them to work for everyone to read. But everyone else had also received the fliers.
I was very touched and thanked Master for the arrangement and the selflessness of the practitioners who distributed the materials. My colleagues now had a better understanding of Falun Dafa.
Then, I showed my colleagues some truth-clarification DVDs on my phone, and they were very moved and felt respect for Master.
When they saw the introduction and reports on Shen Yun, they said that the Chinese culture is too magnificent; and hoped to watch it sometimes.
My colleagues were very interested so I told them about Zhuan Falun. However, when they wanted to read it, I was reluctant to give them the book and told them to read the e-book. I was afraid they would not cherish it and might damage or dirty the book. I finally gave a book to each of them after they had requested it several times and had promised to cherish it.
After reading three pages, Cheng said, “This book is really good. If everyone follows this, the world would become a better place.”
My other colleague said that “Master is remarkable,” adding that he would take the book home and keep it once he finished reading it. Colleague Cheng added that he would leave the book for his son and let him read it when he got older.
Quitting the CCP
Everyone has heard the song “Falun Dafa is Good” as I would use a small music player to play it every day. We also listen to the music, “Pu Du” and “Ji Shi.” Everyone supports me in practicing Dafa.
As I felt that everyone understood the facts about Dafa, I decided to tell them about quitting the CCP. However, they said that I was anti-CCP when I mentioned the evil nature of the CCP and I argued with them. They refused to quit the Party.
They said, that Master is a good person and Falun Dafa teaches people to be good. But they claimed that I was against the country. They believed that the CCP was changing for the better.
Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime persecuted Dafa. These sins are to be attributed to him. They said that they supported me in filing complaints against him but disagreed about quitting the CCP.
I remembered that they disagreed, and even said some disrespectful words. I was angry and argued with them.
Then Xiao Mu said, “Do you believe it if I report you to the police?”
I was shocked when he said this. I was not afraid that he would call the police as I knew that he thought Dafa was good, but why did he say that?
I kept quiet and started to send forth righteous thoughts. After I looked within, I realized that I was wrong. I did not live by the Dafa principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I even argued with them. This was my attachment to the competitive mentality.
I asked Master to strengthen my colleague's righteous thoughts.
After a while, I told him, “You are very kind. You won't report me. But please don't say that again. It is illegal for the CCP to persecute Falun Dafa. The police are no longer following Jiang Zemin but are still committing crimes. They knew the current situation of Jiang Zemin and he will be prosecuted soon.”
Xiao Mu did not say anything and went out to play games. I was very sad that I did not do well and caused the evil side of him to surface. He returned a while later and invited me for lunch. Usually I buy the food. This was the first time one of my colleagues asked me to join him. The good side of him had surfaced and this was his way of apologizing to me.
After he returned from getting food, he said, “I often argue with you, but don't take it to heart. I can't help it when I feel like arguing. I wanted to say that I know the CCP is evil and everyone else knows it, too. If I argue with you again, scold me or don't bother about me. I will be fine.” I was truly moved by this change.
During the new year, I distributed small red packets to everyone and one colleague sent me a photo of the truth-clarification bill. I didn't pay much attention at that time.
After work, that colleague asked, “Have you seen that photo?” It was the phone number for quitting the CCP. He thought that I should quit the Party, so I said, “I have already done it. There is nothing left for me to quit even if I call the number.”
He wanted me to call and just say that I would quit. I said, “Cultivators can't lie. The figures on the Epoch Times website that shows the number of people quitting the CCP is real. You are allowed to use an alias since Buddhas and Gods look only at one's hearts. Quitting it can keep one safe.”
He said, “Then make that call and I will quit the Youth League and Young Pioneers. If the call is answered, I will quit them.”
I called the number and a woman picked up after 10 seconds. She said, “This is the Tuidang Service Center. Do you want to do the three withdrawals?”
I gave my colleague's alias. She thanked me and asked me to give her blessing to my colleague for choosing a good future. She also told us to remember “Falun Dafa is good.”
I told her we had already memorized it and at that moment, one of them started singing the song “Falun Dafa Is Good.”
Creating a Cultivation Environment at Work
Colleague Cheng is the only one who has yet to do the three withdrawals although he broke through the firewall to surf the Internet every day and also reads Zhuan Falun.
Moreover, I have yet to talk about quitting the Party with my manager although he always listens when we talk about Dafa. He also talks about traditional values like “heaven is looking at everything” and “a person's fate is arranged by heaven.”
Recently, the company wanted to give us a pay raise. When I first started working, my salary was higher than Xiao's even though he had worked in the company for over five years. When he found out, he went to the Human Resource (HR) department to complain.
HR lowered my pay a little, which was not in accordance with our contract. I did not raise this with HR or my supervisors. I also did not blame Xiao Mu because I am a cultivator and should consider others first. Anyway, having a few hundred dollars less would not affect my daily life, and I did not want my colleague to be unhappy or trouble my supervisor.
I told my manager that I would not protest if he increased others' salaries. My manager did not expect that I would react this way and was very happy that I was not a calculating type of person.
The company is also my cultivation environment. Everything is arranged by Master.
I will cherish this cultivation environment, cultivate solidly, and bring the wonderfulness of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to those around me.
