(Minghui.org) Ms. Sun Zhongfang, an 80-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, was sentenced to 4 years in prison by the Beijing Fengtai District Court.
Personnel from the court came to Ms. Sun's home at 9:30 a.m. on December 28, 2018 to announce the verdict. Ms. Sun is planning to appeal.
Arrested At Home
Ms. Sun Zhongfang lives on Majiapu West Road. She and six other Falun Gong practitioners (including four who were over 80 years old) were studying the Falun Gong teachings at her home on May 8, 2018. A group of police officers broke into her home and took them to the Fengtai District Police Department. Because of her high blood pressure, Ms. Sun was released that day.
False Allegations
Ms. Sun received a telephone call from the Fengtai District Court on October 9, 2018. She was notified that she would be tried at home at 4 p.m. on November 1, 2018.
Court judge Hu Chunsheng, a female clerk, and four other unidentified persons arrived at 2 p.m. on November 1, 2018. They read the prosecutor's indictment to Ms. Sun.
Ms. Sun argued that none of the allegations were based on facts and that even her birth date was wrong. The judge instructed her to wait for the verdict.
