(Minghui.org) We all know from Teacher Li's Fa lectures that the purpose of being a Dafa disciple is to tell people about the goodness of Dafa. More specifically, it is to do the three things well and help Teacher rectify the Fa and save sentient beings. But we often do not remember this when we are faced with tribulations. We end up taking fighting against the persecution by the old forces as our basic purpose.
Dafa disciples by no means cultivate to fight against the old forces' arrangements. The purpose of our rejecting the old forces' arrangements is to eliminate obstacles while validating Dafa so that we can save more people. In other words, saving people is the basic purpose of our existence.
The mindset that resisting the old forces' persecutions is our main purpose seems to mostly manifest in the following areas:
When faced with illness karma, some practitioners do not take the opportunity to look inward, elevate their xinxing, and rid themselves of any old force interference. Instead, some take ending the illness symptoms and achieving personal relief as the goals. We are in reality circulating within the old forces' arrangements to cultivate when we take ending illness symptoms as our purpose. We are trying to deny the old forces' arrangements while recognizing the old forces' arrangements.
When a practitioner is arrested, some practitioners take ending being persecuted as the goal. They do not take it as an opportunity to elevate themselves, eliminate the evil, and save sentient beings. That is, these practitioners do not take validating Dafa and saving sentient beings as the main purpose of cultivation. When we take ending the persecution as our main goal, we are putting the old forces in the position of a persecutor and ourselves in the position of a victim. We nicely acknowledge the old forces' arrangements.
There are many other ways that practitioners exhibit taking denying the old forces' arrangements as the fundamental purpose, instead of validating Dafa as the fundamental purpose. For example, when a practitioner exhibits illness karma, how do the surrounding practitioners view the situation? Another example is how other practitioners who participate in getting practitioners released from detention view the situation when a practitioner is arrested.
As Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples, we must clearly recognize our true wish at the time that we came to this world. We must understand our mission and duty and not be swayed by the old forces and get lost.
Teacher said:
“No matter what big things are happening, pretend nothing is going on and just go about, as usual, doing what a Dafa disciple should do. This is the path you're taking today, and this is the [legacy of] mighty virtue you are leaving.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Washington DC Fa Conference”, Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. VI)
I realize from Teacher's lecture, that no matter what arrangements the old forces have made, we should treat symptoms of illness as “illusions of illness karma” and not take them seriously. We should ignore them and do whatever we originally wanted to do. This way, we follow the path that Teacher has arranged for us and do the three things well.
Actually, the way to truly deny the arrangements of the old forces is to not take it seriously. We should ignore them and just follow Teacher's requirements and arrangements. When we properly follow the path laid out for us by Teacher, we naturally negate the old forces' arrangements. We will also be accomplishing the historic mission of a Dafa disciple.
A number of elderly female practitioners have done especially well in telling people the facts about Dafa. Their common feature is a pure and peaceful heart when talking to people. They don't have the notion of fearing persecution. All they think about is saving people. Whoever it may be, even if it is a uniformed police officer or a plainclothes officer, they tell them the facts about Dafa as usual. The effect is very good, and they remain safe. No one can hurt them. Such practitioners have had a big impact on saving sentient beings.
