(Minghui.org) Five Meizhou City, Guangdong Province residents were harassed in late August 2019 for practicing Falun Gong, a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Woman Held in Custody for Hours
Ms. Li Qiongying was taken away from her home on the afternoon of August 20, 2019 by a group of officers from Mei County Domestic Security Division and Baohua Police Station.
The officers claimed that Ms. Li was found distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, photos of the founder Falun Gong, as well as 4,000 yuan in cash and Ms. Li's ID and home keys. She was held at the police station until 11 p.m.
Family of Three Has Biometrics Collected
Ms. Fu Yanling was arrested around 4 p.m. on August 28, 2019, by 14 officers from Mei County Domestic Security Division, local police station and Guangdong Province 610 Office (an extralegal agency created specifically to persecute Falun Gong).
The officers brought Ms. Fu home, ransacked her residence and arrested her husband, Mr. Xia Xianqiang and son, Mr. Xia Zhengpeng.
Ms. Fu and her son were then brought to Chengjiang Police Station, and her husband to the Domestic Security Division. The police interrogated them, took their photos and collected their fingerprints and DNA samples.
The police took Mr. Xia Xianqiang to the hospital for a physical examination around 9:30 p.m. He was found to have high blood pressure and some conditions in his heart and other internal organs so he wasn't suitable for further detention.
The family of three were released around 11 pm.
Once Imprisoned for 12 Years, Man Harassed Again for His Faith
Mr. Xie Hanzhu was harassed by Deng Chenghua, the deputy director of Meijiang District 610 Office and a few officers from Chengxi Police Station, on the afternoon of August 30, 2019. The officers asked him what he had been doing recently and left afterwards.
This is not the first time that Mr. Xie has been targeted for his faith. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison following his arrest in 2005.
