(Minghui.org) An Anguo City, Hebei Province resident suffered a stroke five months after she was arrested for her faith in Falun Gong. Ms. Ma Huixin is now in an intensive care unit, her life hanging by a thread.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since 1999.
Ms. Ma (also known as Ma Xinying) was arrested on June 13, 2020 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in a residential area. She was sent to the Baoding Detention Center on the next afternoon.
On November 7, 2020, Ms. Ma’s family was informed by the detention center that she was in critical condition after suffering a major cerebral hemorrhage. They were asked to immediately come to the hospital and provide information about her health insurance.
The detention center claimed Ms. Ma had a preexisting condition before her detention and pressured her family to sign a document with fabricated evidence about her condition.
Ms. Ma’s son refused to sign the document and said she had never had the alleged preexisting condition and asked: If she was indeed sick at the time she was arrested, why did the detention center still accept her?
Ms. Ma’s family is now in the process of filing complaints against the officers in charge of her case.
