(Minghui.org) According to information reported on Minghui.org, 21 elderly Falun Gong practitioners in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, are still incarcerated for their faith at the time of writing.
Since the Chinese communist regime ordered the persecution of Falun Gong, an ancient spiritual discipline, in 1999, Liaoning has been one of the provinces with the highest numbers of arrested, harassed, and sentenced practitioners.
The 21 practitioners, all 70 or older, are: Mr. Ma Ruitian, Mr. Xia Yuanxin, Mr. Liu Xiyong, Mr. Hao Fukui, Ms. Wang Weizhen, Ms. Qin Shulan, Ms. Wang Riqing, Ms. Zhang Guimin, Ms. Wang Xiuxiang, Ms. Li Gang, Ms. Cheng Yurong, Ms. Xie Huixian, Ms. Yu Yinghua, Ms. Gu Xuezhen, Ms. Ma Guizhen, Ms. Liang Shengmei, Ms. Song Xuecun, Ms. Xu Changlan, Ms. Zhao Zhenhua, Ms. Qin Shumin, and Ms. Li Furong.
In particular, Mr. Liu and Mr. Hao are both in their 80s.
Some of them have been repeatedly targeted for their faith, such as Ms. Xu, 70, who has served six years behind bars and was given three more years in late 2019.
Ms. Wang Xiuxiang, 77, is still serving a three-year term in Liaoning Women’s Prison and was unable to be with her son, Mr. Zhang Wei, when he died on October 6, 2019, at the age of 52. Because he practiced Falun Gong, Mr. Zhang served ten years between 2005 and 2015 and was subjected to relentless torture for refusing to give up his faith.
