(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 97 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
On December 29-31, 2020, the Gulin County government instructed officials in various townships, towns, villages, work units, and communities, accompanied by police officers carrying guns, to visit Falun Gong practitioners who insisted on practicing. These people kicked the doors to break in, and rummaged through boxes in search of Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, printed materials, and audio products.
They threatened that if they did not “transform” and sign paperwork, it would adversely impact the future of all three generations in their families, who would not be allowed to go to college, join the army, or find a job.
Work units were ordered to suspend practitioners’ children from work until they could talk their parents into being “transformed” and signing paperwork before they could go back to work.
Three officers from the Taiping Police Station and seven or eight officials from the town and village went to Mr. Luo Guoqiang’s home in Zouma Village at noon on December 31, 2020. They asked Mr. Luo whether he still practiced Falun Gong. He answered yes. They then ransacked his home and tore up “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good” calligraphy artworks. They pressured him to sign statements renouncing Falun Gong, but he refused.
Three officers and five or six officials from the town and village went to 76-year-old Ms. Liu Daiqiong’s home in Zouma Village at around 4:00 p.m. on December 31, 2020. Outside her home, they saw that she was heading out with a bag on her back. They immediately pushed her to the ground, grabbed her bag, and took all of her printed materials. They then pried open the door, entered her home, and ransacked the place. They pressured her to sign paperwork, but she refused.
Several people including police officers and community staff members from Gulin Town talked to Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Xingqin on December 29 and 30, 2020, pressuring her to sign paperwork. She refused. The officers asked leaders at Ms. Zhang’s daughter’s workplace to tell her that unless she could talk Ms. Zhang into signing the paperwork she would lose her job. Under such pressure, Ms. Zhang’s daughter signed and fingerprinted the paperwork.
Mr. Zhou Mofen, in his 80s, was repeatedly harassed and pressured to sign paperwork by community staff members.
Practitioners Liu Faqiong (over 70) and Xu Wenxia, Han Biqin, Chen Qizhen, and Song Guangcai (all over 80) were also harassed. (Their genders are unknown).
The Changde City Domestic Security Division in collaboration with local police stations arrested practitioners Wen Chunhua, Wen Juxiang, Yin Hong, Yang Biqiong, Fan Ying, and Fan Congrong on the morning of December 16, 2020. Most of them were released. Fan Ying is still being held in the Changde City Detention Center.
Beginning in July 2020, the Suzhou District Domestic Security Division, various police stations, and community personnel began to harass Falun Gong practitioners over the phone and at their homes.
The campaign escalated to “zero-out” operations in October and November. These people repeatedly went to the homes of Falun Gong practitioners to threaten and intimidate them, and pressured them to sign paperwork promising to give up their practice.
Practitioners who were harassed included Ms. Jia Yanxia, Ms. Liu Suping, Ms. Zhao Cuilan, Ms. Qin Shixiu, Ms. Ru Huiqin, Ms. Xu Lixia, Mr. Shun Jun, Ms. Xie Hongying, Ms. Fang Ping, Ms. Fan Xiuling, and Ms. Liu Ruixian.
Ms. Jia’s family was harassed three times. These people also went to the work units of her son and daughter-in-law. To put pressure on her they collaborated with work unit leaders, and threatened to have her son and daughter-in-law’s job terminated and prevent her grandchildren from going to school.
Besides the threats, they also resorted to monetary enticement. All were rejected by Ms. Jia.
Ms. Fang Ping’s husband was often threatened by his work unit leaders. Later, seven people went to her home and introduced themselves as secretary Zhao and secretary Liu from the provincial, city, and district Political and Legal Affairs Committees. Ms. Fang did not cooperate.
Those people went to Ms. Ru Huiqin’s home four or five times. They went to Ms. Xie Hongying’s home to harass her, and stayed for the entire day. Her non-practitioner husband finally forced them to leave.
Ms. Yan Ling, 74, from Tongzhou District, was arrested by officers from the Tongzhou District Domestic Security Division, the 610 Office, and the Chengzhong Police Station in July 2020. She has been held in the Nantong Detention Center.
Ms. Kang Naiyi, 78, from Tongzhou District, was released on bail for one year for clarifying the truth. After the one-year period, she was taken into custody for not admitting “guilt” for practicing Falun Gong. She remains in custody. She refused to sign any paperwork.
Top leaders in Nantong City, along with officials from various areas, township police stations, village committees, and residential committees in Tongzhou District, harassed Yu Xiucheng, Xu Qiping, Jiang Qi, Zhang Suzhen, Zhu Wenru, Wang Hancheng, Xu Jianru, and Ms. Ding. They pressured practitioners to sign statements renouncing Falun Gong.
Dafa practitioners Ms. Zhong Yingchun and her husband Mr. Pan Suichang from Bao’an District have been persecuted as part of the zero-out campaign since December 2020. Ten people engaged in the persecution, including Lu Heli, secretary of the local Political and Legal Affairs Committee, Party secretary Xiong of the Sub-district Administration Office, and Director Zhou of the Gongle Police Station.
They started by implicating family members to force Mr. Pan to write guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong. They then applied pressure on Ms. Zhong. They also asked leaders of her brother’s work unit to force her brother to talk her into writing guarantee statements.
They forced leaders of her work unit to persuade her to write guarantee statements. She was told that if she did not write the statements, she would lose her house and household registration, and her child would not receive a college diploma.
They often showed up at her workplace and disrupted her work. Seeing that Ms. Zhong was unmoved, Lu Heli cursed at her and shouted, “If you do not sign the statement, I will tell the police station to summon you at any time.” He boasted that he embodied the law and could lock up anyone regardless if they were good people.
Ms. Zhong has left home and become displaced.
Ms. Li Fumin was arrested by six officers from the Qingyun Town Police Station and Yanshan County Police Department at her rented home on the morning of December 17, 2020. She had been harassed numerous times but she refused to cooperate.
Ms. Li was locked up in the police station overnight in freezing temperatures. She was then transferred to a room in a privately owned bath and breakfast, where the staff and people from the town government took turns watching her.
Ms. Yang Limei from Dadong District was arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong on the street last week. Her home was ransacked.
Mr. Yan Xiuhong was arrested on October 29, 2020. He was officially placed under arrest on November 12. His case was brought to the court on December 24.
Four people from the Pengzhou City 610 Office, along with Zhou Pingkuan from Mengyang Town, went to Dafa practitioner Ms. Fu Shunju’s home on the morning of December 11, 2020. She was not at home, so they threatened her family.
Ms. Fu returned home in the afternoon, and her family forcibly took her to the community office. The community staff members and her family tried to “transform” her, but she refused. They said that if she did not “transform” they would come to her home at any time. Ms. Fu left home and became displaced.
Ms. Lu Mingxia was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center by officers from the Xingfu Road Police Station on December 23, 2020.
Ms. Lu’s daughter Ms. Zhang Wei is still being harassed by people from the community and sub-district administration office. The sub-district administration office sent people to live in Ms. Zhang’s home around the clock to monitor and “transform” her.
They made up an excuse of performing nucleic acid tests and took Ms. Lu and Ms. Zhang’s national ID cards away. They also took Ms. Lu’s pension payment card.
Ms. Lu’s current whereabouts are unknown.
Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Rui was reported to the police on December 20, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Four or five officers from the police station and Domestic Security Division ransacked his home. He is being held in the Chengde County Detention Center.
Dafa practitioner Mr. Liang Yi from Macheng City took Dafa practitioner Mr. Luo Yaxiong, whose life was in imminent danger, from a hospital in Wuhan City to his home in Wuhan City on January 2, 2021.
The police rushed to Mr. Liang’s home and arrested both practitioners and ransacked the place. Mr. Liang was directly placed under administrative detention. Mr. Luo’s whereabouts are unknown.
Two officials from the Pengzhou City Political and Legal Affairs Committee led by Liu Guanghua from Longfeng Town 610 Office went to Ms. Wang Daoqiong’s home on October 27, 2020, and told her to hand over her Falun Dafa books. She said no. After December, they continued to harass her a few more times.
Practitioner Wang Yu, 52, gender unknown, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and arrested on the afternoon of January 2, 2021.
Dafa practitioner Ms. Zou Liumei was arrested at home by officers from the Lidu Police Station and the Jinxian County Domestic Security Division on December 30, 2020. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
She had been harassed several times before December 30. Details are as follows:
Seven or eight officers from the Domestic Security Division and the police station went to her home and ransacked the place on the morning of November 15. They confiscated a copy of the book Zhuan Falun and three copies of Hong Yin. Four or five people from the police station and the Lidu Town government went to her home that afternoon and tried to talk her into quitting Falun Gong.
Four staff members from the residential committee went to her home on November 16 and pressured her to sign paperwork.
Five officers from the Jinxian County Police Department and two officers from the Lidu Police Station went to her home on November 18, and told her to have a talk in the police station. They took her to the county Domestic Security Division instead, where they pressured her to sign paperwork, but she refused. She was taken home that evening.
Four people from the police station and town government went to her home on November 20 and pressured her to sign statements renouncing Falun Gong. She refused. They applied pressure and tried to coax her into signing the paperwork. They threatened that if she signed the statements, they would grant low-rent housing to her second daughter, and if she did not, her second daughter would not get a housing benefit. Her second daughter suffers from severe postpartum depression, is not able to work, and lives with Ms. Zou. Ms. Zou’s pension has been suspended since August 2020.
People ransacked her home at noon on December 28, and pressured her to sign paperwork. She refused.
Practitioner Zhao Qingshan (gender unknown) was arrested by the Shuangshuinian Police Station in February 2020. After that the police have harassed Zhao at home several times, which caused a lot of stress to the family.
On December 31, Zhao was taken to the police station for interrogation. The officers threatened and intimidated Zhao for over an hour before taking Zhao home.
Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Xiufen was harassed by a residential officer in the Wangha area in early November 2020. The officer said that he would go to her daughter’s home and ask her daughter to sign paperwork and take photos and videos. He threatened to arrest Ms. Yang if she did not sign the paperwork.
Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Jinlan, nearly 70, was arrested by officers from the Duanzhou District 610 Office around December 28, 2020. She is being held in the Duanzhou District Detention Center.
Elderly Ms. Zhao Xiuyun has been officially placed under arrest.
Dafa practitioners Yan Chengjun, from Huanxiling Village in Dongguo Town, and Tong Xianchun, from Shixin Town in Panshan County, [both practitioners’ genders are unknown] had been previously sentenced to prison for spreading the words of Falun Dafa. Their wages have been suspended since August 2020.
One person from the Dazhu Town Comprehensive Management Office, Zeng Lingtao (a clerk in the state owned land section), and three officers from the Dazhuhe Police Station went to practitioners’ homes in Lianhua Community and harassed them several times in December 2020.
They went to the homes of Ms. Liu Zhaozhen (93 years old), Ms. Tan Yuzhen (78 years old), Ms. Chen Fuzhen (76 years old), Ms. Chen Xueqiong (73 years old), and Ms. Tang Yuting (68 years old), took photos of them, questioned them, and pressured them to sign paperwork.
They broke into Ms. Tang’s home, harassed her, and confiscated an MP3 audio player on the morning of December 17. They also attempted to arrest her. She firmly refused.
Ms. Shen Yanxia, Ms. Zhou Aizhen, and Ms. Zeng Jinqiu were arrested and taken to the Liandu Police Department Case Handling Center by officers from the Liandu Domestic Security Division on the morning of October 27, 2020.
The Domestic Security Division resorted to violence when making the arrests. The officers forcibly broke doors, ransacked the practitioners’ homes, and confiscated laptop computers, Falun Dafa books, cash, paper currency marked with Falun Gong messages, cell phones, SD cards, and printed materials.
Ms. Shen was placed under criminal detention the following day. She was taken to the Lishui City Detention Center. Her case was turned over to the Procuratorate.
Ms. Zhou and Ms. Zeng were released the following day. The day after their release, they had to undergo brainwashing. They were pressured to write guarantee statements, press fingerprints, and give up their belief.
Several days later, staff members from the sub-district administration office and community went to several practitioners’ homes and pressured them to write and fingerprint the three statements documents renouncing their belief.
In 2020, the Chinese Communist Party’s political and legal system carried out a nationwide “zero-out” campaign and systematically went after Falun Gong practitioners.
Officers from the Lixin Police Station repeatedly went to the new home of Ms. Kou Weixiang’s daughter. She was not at home. These people staked out near the building.
At around 7:00 p.m. on November 19, officers noticed that a light was turned on in the room of Ms. Kou’s daughter. They pretended to be property management staff, and claimed to be conducting a census. They tricked the family into opening the door and harassed them.
Several days later, officers called Ms. Kou to go to the police station to get her national ID card. She went there, and officers pressured her to sign the three statements.
Prior to this, Ms. Kou and her family had been harassed numerous times.
Seven officers from the Wangbuzhuang Town Police Station jumped over the wall into Ms. Wang Chunhua’s courtyard and entered her home on the afternoon of January 11, 2020. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, printed materials, three audio players, and two video players. Ms. Wang was taken to the police station for interrogation. She was released at around 10:00 p.m.
Several officers, who claimed to be from the Tianjin State Security Department, broke into the residence of Ms. Wang’s parents on the afternoon of June 22. They took a TV set, and smashed the TV receiver.
Since November 2020, all township and town police stations in Baodi District have joined forces with sub-districts and village committees to harass Dafa practitioners in a coordinated campaign.
In addition to the common practice of recruiting relatives to apply pressure on practitioners, they resorted to a deceptive trick this time: Practitioners could write anything with a pen, and they could even write “Falun Dafa is good” as long as they cooperated with the director of the police station or were photographed.
The harassed practitioners from Huogezhuang Town included Liu Guihua, Dang Xiangxin (couple), Zhang Hongmei, and Wang Jianxin.
Zhao Zijun, Zhao’s younger sister, Yang Shufen, and Bai Dianshuan from Fangjiazhuang Town, along with four female practitioners from Siligang Village were pressured to sign paperwork.
The harassed practitioners from Wangbuzhuang Town included Zhang Yuzhen, Wang Huiqing, Zhang Zhenyan, Bai Fengling, Liu Enyong, Zhang Hongyan, Zhao Junling, Yu Boqun, Wang Zhixiong, Ma Guiying, He Bin, Kong Zhaojie, Wang Qingyun, Wu Baohui, Zhang Yuxia, Zhang Qiaoling, and Yang Zaibo.
Dafa practitioners in Dazhongzhuang Town, Lintingkou Town, Dakoutun Town, Niudaokou Town, and various township and downtown areas in Baodi District were harassed.
