(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 26 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Four or five people, including secretary Wu Shimin of the Gaoxing Town Political and Legal Affairs Committee, director Feng Xianghai of the Gaoxing Town Stability Maintenance Office, and the secretary of the Zicuiyuan Residential Committee, went to knock on the door of Ms. Xu Xiaoyan’s home on the morning of February 24, 2021. They wanted to enter her home and talk to Ms. Xu, but her mother sent them away.
Mr. Chu Tongchun from Fujia Village was arrested by five police officers in early February 2021. The officers confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun. He was taken home that evening.
Officers from the Beicheng Police Station went to Ms. Yan Jing’s work unit around October 1, 2020, but she was not there. Officers from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the 610 Office went to her work unit again on January 1, 2021, but still did not find her. Before Chinese New Year’s Day, February 12, they went there again. Ms. Yan’s manager told them that she had quit and left.
Ms. Yan Ying, 56 years old, disabled, lives in Lingwu Farm. She runs a watch repair, cell phone repair, typing, photocopying and photography shop. About twelve police officers broke into her home and ransacked the place on February 10, 2021. They asked her how many copies of Falun Gong printed materials she'd given to others. The officers ransacked her home for nearly four hours and confiscated three computers used for typing, reproducing, and printing photos, which effectively disrupted her business.
Her husband asked the authorities to return their computers, but to no avail.
Ms. Yan was arrested at home on February 21.
Ms. Yu Lanfang from Weifang City, Shandong Province, was arrested at her daughter’s home in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, by seven or eight officers including Jiang Dawei from the Fengqiao Police Station in Suzhou City on January 28, 2021. The officers confiscated her cell phone and all her Falun Dafa books.
Ms. Yu’s son-in-law was also arrested. He was released 24 hours later. Ms. Yu has been held in custody for nearly a month. Family members are not allowed to visit her.
The Taibaozhuang Police Station issued a summons certificate to Mr. Chu Qinghua on February 23, 2021, and told him to report there at 11 a.m. that day. Mr. Chu left home and became displaced.
Mr. Chu’s father, Mr. Chu Liwen, was sentenced to eight years in prison on February 10, 2021. He was released for health reasons.
In late December 2020, officers from the Yuanshan Police Station used the census as an excuse to harass Ms. Zhong Qiuxian, who was in her 70s. They also called and deceived her eldest son into returning from Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, where he works. People from the Lianping County Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the police station went to her home, pressured her to sign paperwork, and photographed her.
During the summer vacation in 2020, director Qiu Xufeng of the police station, under the orders of the county Political and Legal Affairs Committee, began to harass Ms. Zhong’s husband and cousin over the phone. Qiu told them that if they signed three statements renouncing Falun Gong, their names would be removed from the CCP's blacklist. Qiu called Ms. Gong’ husband again on January 1, 2021, threatening and pressuring him to sign the paperwork.
On December 31, 2020, the county Political and Legal Affairs Committee officials and director Xie Penghua of the 610 Office ordered local police and community committee personnel in the Jiangmen area to go to the home of Ms. Zhong’s daughter and harass her.
Ms. Wan Xin’er was arrested and her home was ransacked in mid-May 2019. She was released on bail after being held in custody for over 30 days.
Ms. Wan was tried by the Xuanwu Court in late October 2020. She has been held in custody ever since.
Mr. Zheng Jiajin, in his 80s, and Ms. Zhu Fenglan, 66, were arrested at a rented home by officers from the Xinxiang City Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of August 28, 2020. The officers ransacked the place and confiscated a computer, a printer, and a large number of personal items.
Mr. Zheng was released for health reasons. Ms. Zhu has been held in the Xinxiang City Detention Center. She was tried by the Huxian City Court on the morning of February 23, 2021.
Ms. Luo Yuanying and Huang Hongwei (gender unknown) from Jiang’an District were reported to the police by plainclothes officers on the morning of February 22, 2021 for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing cards with QR codes for uncensored Internet access. They were arrested and taken to the Tangjiadun Police Station, where they were interrogated.
Three officers and two staff members from the community ransacked Ms. Luo’s home that afternoon, and confiscated her Falun Dafa books, DVDs, and printed materials. Both practitioners were taken to the Erzhigou Detention Center.
Ms. Zhu Muzhen and Mr. Fan Zirong from the Petrochemical Refinery were suddenly surrounded by a group of police officers on Baiyun Avenue leading towards the Nantai Food Market on the morning of February 4, 2021.
They were arrested and taken to the Longquan Police Station. The officers took turns interrogating them. They body searched them and rummaged through their bags. The two practitioners’ homes were ransacked. Mr. Fan was released late that night. Ms. Zhu was detained for 15 days
Officers led by director Liu Aijun of the Xihu Police Station broke into Ms. Xia Jingze’s home and ransacked the place on February 20, 2021. They confiscated a computer, a printer, DVDs, five sets of photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a set of Falun Dafa books, and printed materials.
Ms. Xia, her daughter, and practitioner Zhang who was visiting them, were arrested and taken to the police station. They were not released until 2 a.m. on February 21.
Ms. Lu Guiqin was arrested at home by division head Wang Shuguan and other officers from the Dunhuang City Domestic Security Division on August 11, 2020.
She was tried on December 10, and was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan by the Dunhuang City Court on January 21, 2021. She has appealed.
Members from the Social Organization and Service Center of Dalianwan Sub-district called Ms. Li Chenying, Ms. Liu Xingge, and Mr. An Xiangyu on February 20, 2021. Over the phone, they told Ms. Li, Ms. Liu and Mr. An to go to the sub-district office to sign paperwork regarding whether they were still practiced Falun Gong.
Ms. Shi Yanying from Tiexi District was arrested at work on January 19, 2021. The police confiscated her computer and printer from her home. The police did not leave her home that day; instead they waited for other Falun Gong practitioners who would come to visit.
Mr. Bai Xuesong and Ms. Lou Yan went to Ms. Shi’s home the following day and were arrested. Mr. Bai is being held in the Anshan City No. 2 Detention Center. Ms. Shi is being held in the Yiuyan Detention Center. Ms. Lou has returned home.
Ms. Wang Shubo was arrested at home by officers from the Songlin Police Station, Jiamusi City, on February 20, 2021. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated all her Falun Dafa books, a computer, and other personal belongings.
Mr. Bai Yufu and his wife Ms. Zhang Lixin were scheduled to be tried by the Zhangwu County Court of Fuxin City, on March 5, 2021.
