(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Peru gathered at the Plaza de la Democracia in the capital, Lima, to mark the 22 anniversary of the April 25 Appeal, and to tell people about Falun Dafa. They hung up banners, displayed posters and held a candlelight vigil to expose the true nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and call for an end to the persecution.
Practitioners tell people about Falun Dafa and the persecution.
Practitioners used speakers to introduce Falun Dafa and explain why they held the activity. On April 25, 1999, more than 10,000 Falun Dafa practitioners appealed to the National Appeals Office in Beijing. They requested that practitioners illegally arrested in Tianjin be released, and sought the confirmation of their lawful right to practice their belief. Not long after, on July 20, 1999, the CCP initiated a nationwide suppression and began arresting practitioners.

Many passersby stopped to ask where they could learn the practice. Practitioners explained that Falun Dafa was taught free of charge and that there were 13 exercises sites around Lima and other cities in Peru.
Practitioners hold a candlelight vigil.
As nightfall came, practitioners held a candlelight vigil to solemnly remember those who have been persecuted to death during the 22-year-long persecution.
