(Minghui.org) On February 18, 2021, my son and I made plans to go to the dentist at 8:00 the next morning. Then a friend invited him over that night, and they drank too much. The next morning he couldn’t get up. “Mom,” he begged me, “let me sleep some more.” Around 10:00 a.m., another friend called and invited him out to eat. My son then asked his friend to take us to the dentist. I was getting quite irritated, but I didn’t say anything.
After we met up with his friend, I couldn’t contain myself any longer and complained to his friend about how my son always went out and drank too much. My son was embarrassed and talked back to me. I was very upset even though I didn’t show it.
On our way home, just as I was about to ask his friend to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations, my son said to him, “They (Falun Dafa practitioners) are very kind.” Then he said to me, “Mom, help him quit the CCP.” His friend ended up quitting the CCP without hesitation.
The next morning, as I was just finishing up the exercises, a huge character “Ren” (Forbearance) appeared before my eyes. It was silver and very shiny. Then the character “Zhen” (Truthfulness) appeared below the “Ren.” The “Zhen” character moved up and then down. As “Zhen” moved down, the character “Shan” (Compassion) appeared and also moved up and down. It then stopped below “Ren.”
I saw them very clearly and was shocked. I realized that Master Li was giving me a hint that I should have more compassion for my son. Given the way I behaved, I had neither Compassion or Forbearance. My son’s behavior was really just helping me improve my xinxing.
Master said,
“Therefore, Zhen consists of Zhen-Shan-Ren, Shan consists of Zhen-Shan-Ren, and Ren also consists of Zhen-Shan-Ren.” (“A Brief Explanation of Shan,” Essentials for Further Advancement)
I was determined to cultivate my xinxing and remember to have Forbearance when encountering things.
A fellow practitioner had been experiencing sickness karma for six months. She had severe pain around her anus, her legs were numb, and she would shake whenever she stood, so she couldn’t do the standing exercises. Not only that, she could see clearly with only one eye and couldn’t read Master’s Fa; she only listened to the audio version of the lectures.
I went to visit her and brought her the 1,000th edition of Minghui Weeklyon March 17, 2021. I read her an article titled Viewing the End Time from Another Perspective: How Long Master Should Wait for Us? We then shared our understanding about it, and I asked her to do the exercises more. I suggested, “Just do them for as long as you can, even if it is for only 5 or 10 minutes. Perhaps as soon as you do them, Master will remove some karma from you.”
Master said, “Cultivation is itself a form of eliminating karma.” (Falun Gong)
But she said, “I’ll do them when I get a little better.” Even though I didn’t say anything, I felt a bit upset inside. I remembered that, in the past, she also made excuses, such as “I can’t bear the hardship,” “I have not encountered this before,” and “I don’t understand it.”
As I was leaving, she said, “Come visit me when you have time.” Without thinking, I tersely replied, “I’ve lost confidence in you!” Then I immediately realized that I should not have said that and apologized, “That was too harsh. Don’t be mad at me.”
The next morning, when I was at the end of the sitting meditation, I saw a relatively large character “Ren” (Forbearance) rotating on my left side. It was there for about a minute and then disappeared.
I understood that I also need to cultivate myself when helping fellow practitioners. Master again hinted that I should have a broader heart. Otherwise, I won’t be able to fulfill my historic mission, disappointing the countless beings that I represent and our compassionate Master. In the little time that’s left, I’ll be more diligent and cultivate myself well.
