(Minghui.org) Mr. Xin Yuliang, an 88-year-old resident of Jilin City, Jilin Province living on his own, was arrested in 2020 when he went out with three other practitioners to hang up banners with information about Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
After he was released on bail the next day, the police submitted his case to the Chuanying District Procuratorate, which then indicted him and moved his case to the Chuanying District Court.
Mr. Xin was tried in August 2021 and sentenced to one year by Judge Li Zhongcheng. The bailiff first took Mr. Xin to the Jilin City Detention Center, which denied him admission due to his health condition. He returned home later in the day, only to be taken to a hospital for a physical examination a week later. He didn’t return home after the hospital visit, and it’s not clear where he is now detained.
