Chen Chien-hua at the Shen Yun performance in Tainan on June 17
Chen Chien-hua, the chairman of a water damage repair and prevention company, saw Shen Yun in Tainan on June 17.
“Shen Yun is very incredible. Its artistic level is very difficult to reach. At the same time, it can display the virtues of human nature, such as kindness, sincerity, and forbearance. This is very difficult to complete without a tremendous amount of effort... I believe that in this world, only Shen Yun Performing Arts is able to achieve this!” Mr. Chen remarked.
“[Shen Yun] isn’t like the pompous expression of modern society. It’s very inspirational and has content. After I see it, there’s a feeling of the heart being cleansed. That’s why the tears just came down right away,” he said.
Speaking of the first dance number where divine beings followed the Lord Buddha to descend to the mortal world, Mr. Chen said, “I tell myself, I came with a mission!” He said that there’re many kinds of missions, and he believes that the most important is the inner kindness of a person and how he continuously thinks about how to fulfill his mission, bring kindness to other people, and influence the environment.
“Right after watching it, my whole person felt very energetic. I felt that a very strong energy weakened my recessive feelings. My mind and energy are different now. I even very much look forward to the arrival of a new day!” he said.
Huang Nan-hai and his wife at the Shen Yun performance in Tainan on June 17
Huang Nan-hai, a renowned award-winning vocalist, and his wife saw Shen Yun in Tainan on June 17.
“The solo performance of the soprano, especially the high note part, was very resounding and clear. She did not use a microphone. That brightness and penetrativeness was a very outstanding way of singing. It should be related to the vocal method that has traditional eastern elements,” Mr. Huang said.
“The human body is a small universe. It makes clear sounds, and when they match with the harmonics of the greater universe, they produce resonances and that’s how [she] could have a singing voice that resounding and bright. This is a very special method. The penetrativeness of the vocal music goes deep into the heart.
“Shen Yun is the benchmark of art. People who study art can improve their level of appreciation by coming to see Shen Yun. There would be expandability for them especially toward their idea about eastern dance and singing method,” he said.
Kuo Ting-chen at the Shen Yun performance in Kaohsiung on June 21
Kuo Ting-chen, the former director of the Kaohsiung Instruments Commercial Association, saw Shen Yun in Kaohsiung on June 21.
“If you listen to a concert, it’s just a concert. But if you see this show, it’s both a concert and a dance drama with a great plot. There’s culture, art, as well as technology. This technology is also something that you’ve never seen in regular shows,” Mr. Kuo said.
“I feel an invisible righteous energy that is able to push forward changes of the world! I believe that Shen Yun is humanity’s hope. It came to the human world with a mission!”
Mr. Kuo said that he felt from the beginning piece that people came from the heaven. “Humans should have this concept. If you deviate a bit from it, it would be like all communism and atheism that would completely turn the world upside down... Shen Yun was really sent by the heavens. This is sent by the heavens!” he said.
Gao Shujuan at the Shen Yun performance in Kaohsiung on June 22
Gao Shujuan, the founder and director of the Chu-Yin Culture and Arts Troupe, saw Shen Yun in Kaohsiung on June 22.
“Shen Yun is an all-around grand production of art. The complicated degree of its refinement and meticulousness is hard to imagine. To use words or one sentence to describe it, it’s impossible to describe it,” Ms. Gao said.
She said she saw a spirit of “I have to dance it well” in every dancer. “It’s like a pride, but not pride for themselves. They were blending into that scene as if they were the people in that scene,” she said.
Ms. Gao also felt that Shen Yun’s dances contained deep meaning. “Some people only see the meaning of the first layer when they watch it. They’ve only enlightened to the first layer. Some people realize after seeing the show that ultimately in this big universe, there must be a bigger power among us. That power needs to be [known] by more people,” she said.
“Some people think that the details can just be treated lightly. But [Shen Yun] on the contrary treat many details in an amplified way. Shen Yun didn’t only achieve an incredible artistic realm. Some people might be at eight points; some people might only be at five points, but Shen Yun has to accomplish ten points, and reach optimal perfection.
“Before [watching Shen Yun] I was worried about some things [in life]. After watching it, my mood became more at ease, my heart felt cleansed, and the complicated mood was soothed. The kind of peace when the Buddha light appeared in the last scene made me feel very happy. I’m going home full of the feeling of being moved,” Ms. Gao said.
Yang Ya-ting (second to the left) and friends and family at the Shen Yun performance in Kaohsiung on June 23
Yang Ya-ting, the chairwoman of a biotechnology company, saw Shen Yun with friends and family in Kaohsiung on June 23.
“After seeing the first performance [in Kaohsiung], I felt that there was very strong energy on site. It felt very comfortable and had strong after-effects. It made me want to come back to watch it after I went home and to submerge in the compassionate and warm Buddha light of the divine,” Ms. Yang said.
“I brought over ten friends and family to see [Shen Yun’s] first performance. Today I also came with over ten different friends and family to watch it.
“I feel that after seeing it, my heart is very calm, happy, and excited. This kind of purification and cleansing by the all-illuminating Buddha light and being in this kind of pure righteous energy field can purify our heart, which goes down with each passing day,” she said.
Speaking of the last scene, Ms. Yang said, “I was immersed in that radiance emitted when the Falun (Law Wheel) was spinning. That light, that energy, submerged me in a strong energy field... My body and mind were cleansed numerous times. I felt that everything negative was cleared out. After watching it, I felt that the whole person was purified and all karma was eliminated. I felt this way!”
Her seven-year-old son also shared his feelings, “I like Shen Yun. Shen Yun is great. My favorite is the last scene... I feel like it gave me very strong energy!”
Lin Yu-sheng at the Shen Yun performance in Kaohsiung on June 25
Lin Yu-sheng, chairman of the Grand Hotel, saw Shen Yun in Kaohsiung on June 25.
“Every member of this team, not only the performers, but every participant, is using the strongest persistence and bravest power to complete their role in the team,” Mr. Lin said.
“This dedication is due to Shen Yun artists having very steadfast care and love for this world and humanity. With this love, they can produce the most sincere performance. I think this kind of performance can touch many people. Because this is a display of strength. This display comes from our care for this world and for other people.
“In this day and age, Shen Yun isn’t just art. It encourages us to cherish and reminds us to together pay attention to a universal value that has been hurt but thought by everyone to be very important. The importance of this message is no less that the artistic performance itself. In other words, the Shen Yun performance shared Falun Dafa’s anticipation for the human world, which is Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance.
“Excellent performances like Shen Yun are hard to come by and very worth cherishing. Being full of energy like this, I think not only for entrepreneurs, but people in various fields would be greatly benefitted in this process of being charged. It is the satiation of the spirit and the feeling similar to the body being healthy and full of energy,” he said.
Lin Shih-mao at the Shen Yun performance in Kaohsiung on June 25
Lin Shih-mao, the director of the Pingtung County Lodging Association, saw Shen Yun in Kaohsiung on June 25.
“So perfect! ‘heaven and earth’ and ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance’ combined together – this is humanity’s highest spiritual realm and spiritual food!” Mr. Lin said.
“From the first piece to the ending, Shen Yun interlocks everything and combines heaven, earth, and man together, exhorting the brightness and heart of humanity to the highest realm. I can’t use regular programs to describe it.
“[Shen Yun] represents a spirit. From the whole aspects of art, culture, and spirituality, this is something that’s almost nonexistent in performing arts troupes at home and abroad that I’ve seen. What I admire even more is its ability to take care of every detail, body language, including the matching between the backdrops and the performers. It brought audience members through time space, like what people say, sixth dimension, seventh dimension, and even higher dimensions,” he said.
Regarding the ongoing pandemic that worries many, Mr. Lin said, “With faith in heart, these pandemics would definitely not invade you. Shen Yun’s energy is very strong. Its righteous faith and righteous mind gave me very positive help. People who haven’t seen Shen Yun have to come next time. You have to see it at least once in your life. It is so perfect!”
Wilhelm Breiter at the Shen Yun performance in Kaohsiung on June 25
Wilhelm Breiter, the Asia Pacific business representative of Siemens, saw Shen Yun in Kaohsiung on June 25.
“Beautiful colors, beautiful dancing. All the elements are not easy but they make it seem so easy and so smooth. There must be very rigorous training behind the scenes,” Mr. Breiter said.
“There is the ongoing misfortune of cultivators being persecuted in China. There are also conflicts taking place in many places of the world. It is saddening.
“What Shen Yun talks about is divinity. I’m sure we all came from the heavens, but our divinity has been buried, so we have to rediscover the dignity of divinity in our cells and allow our divinity to resurface. This can be called a task. Many people say that they must look outward for divinity, but actually divinity is in our inner being. We all came from heaven, but we have forgotten, and have even built fences around the divinity and buried it further,” he said.
Shen Yun continues its 2022 tour with upcoming performances in Changhua, Taiwan, July 3; Miaoli County, Taiwan, July 5–6; Taipei, Taiwan, July 8–10; and Washington, D.C., July 15–17.
