(Minghui.org) At the Great Texas Mosquito Festival in Clute, Texas, July 28-30, 2022, people had a chance to learn about Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) and how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is persecuting it. This annual festival in Clute Municipal Park has fun activities for the whole family.
“Falun Dafa Is Good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Is Good” banners decorated the booth set up by Falun Dafa practitioners. There were small booklets and flyers about Falun Dafa and beautiful handmade hanging keepsakes with a lotus flower on display that people could take with them. They could also watch an informational video about Falun Dafa.

Introducing Falun Dafa at the festival
The Falun Dafa booth attracted a steady stream of visitors, some of whom wanted to learn more about Falun Dafa, while others were very interested in the exercises and wanted to learn the movements right away. Several people asked about the Falun Dafa practice site. A significant number wanted to know the truth about the CCP persecution of Falun Dafa and signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. Many people liked the handmade lotus flower keepsake with the messages “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” and “Falun Dafa Is Good” on the attached card.
A young lady stopped by many times. A practitioner gave her a Falun Dafa flier and talked to her about Dafa cultivation. The lady said, “This is what I have been searching for. I have always felt that people come to Earth not just to live their lives, so I have always been searching for something.” She said that she had done a meditation before, but when she brought it up to her family, they did not understand. That troubled her, so the Falun Dafa booth made her very happy. She even asked if there is a permanent practice site she could go to.
There were hundreds of booths at the festival. Most were local or nearby organizations but a few were from other states. Practitioners visited the other booths to tell them about Falun Dafa and give them a flyer. Many signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution.
One of the booth owners stopped at the Falun Dafa booth to tell a practitioner that she also liked to meditate and was pleased that Falun Dafa practitioners were there to tell people about their practice. The practitioner told her that Falun Dafa is taught free of charge and that all the books, recordings, and videos can be downloaded from the internet for free. That made her smile.
Jerry, who manned another booth, was very interested in Falun Dafa and asked the practitioners if they had a church. A practitioner told him, “We do not have a church. We are just a group of people who gather voluntarily to do the exercises.” The practitioner showed him a copy of Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Dafa, and said that he could go online to download the book for free. He seemed very interested and said he would go online to read it.
When another booth owner asked what “CCP” stood for, a practitioner told her it was an abbreviation for the “Chinese Communist Party” and that it has tried to wipe out Falun Dafa in China. The woman said she knew the CCP was evil and about some of the terrible things it has done, including harvesting organs from Falun Dafa practitioners while they were still alive and persecuting the people of Xinjiang and Hong Kong. She shared some of her homemade candied fruit with the practitioners.
At another booth that was selling drinks, a practitioner gave the owner a card that read “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, Falun Dafa Is Good” and advised her to say the phrases whenever she ran into difficulties. The owner said she was having surgery the following Monday and was very worried about it. She said she felt very helpless and almost started to cry. The practitioner told her to recite the words on the card and that it would definitely help. The practitioner also told her that she could get more information at their booth or visit the Falun Dafa website.
