(Minghui.org) I have met predestined people in all kinds of circumstances while I was clarifying the truth. Over the past several years, I’ve come across many former practitioners who gave up cultivation for a variety of reasons.
Master arranged opportunities for me to help them return to cultivation. My daughter helped make materials and copied videos and audio for me to deliver to those practitioners who needed them so terribly.
Former Practitioners Reconnect with Dafa
One day, I came across a middle-aged woman in a park. She looked like she was not local and had a small shopping cart with her. I chatted with her and learned that we were from the same town. We became instant friends. I naturally led our conversation to Falun Dafa. She said that she’d practiced Falun Dafa in the past, but when she came here to look after her grandchild for her daughter several years ago, she didn’t dare to bring Falun Dafa books with her. Her husband objected to her practicing and there was no cultivation environment. She didn’t know any practitioners, so she stopped cultivating.
I felt very sorry for her and told her, “It is really a pity that you stopped. The Fa-rectification is near the end. What will the sentient beings in your kingdom do? They are longing for your return. If you quit, you will destroy them as well as yourself. Furthermore, you have a kinship with Master. Master purified your body and sowed thousands of seeds in you so that you could cultivate. If you stop midway, are you worthy of Master’s saving grace and compassion? You cultivated for many years and knew the principles; you should think it over and look within to see where you fell short. Is it fear or some other attachments that were taken advantage of? The evil used your excuse that you didn’t have time to drag you down.”
We talked as we walked. She found many attachments and was willing to take this opportunity to resume cultivation. I asked for her address and told her I would prepare some materials and Dafa books for her. I went to see her a few times as agreed. I kept sending her Master’s lectures, experience sharing articles, and other materials and shared cultivation understandings with her. She finally returned to Dafa. She is diligent now and very thankful for my help.
Her daughter later learned about our encounter and how I helped her mother. She was touched and thankful. Regarding how we should look for former practitioners, Master said:
“That should be done, it still should be, but you need to keep safety in mind.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2015 West Coast Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XIII)
We are all Master’s disciples and are immensely blessed. That’s the expectation and trust that Master has bestowed upon us.
On another occasion, another practitioner and I went to the supermarket to clarify the truth. I saw an elderly lady picking out toothpaste. She couldn’t see the ingredients on the label, so I read them to her. She wanted a particular toothpaste that helped cure tooth disease. As I tried to pick out one, I clarified the truth to her. When she heard that I practiced Falun Dafa, she got excited and said, “Finally, I found the person I am looking for!” I asked what kind of person she was looking for. She said that she also practiced Falun Dafa but didn’t understand a lot of things and had many tribulations. She didn’t know what to do and couldn’t find any practitioner to share with. She was very happy to have found me.
The three of us sat down and shared a bit. She told us her home address and phone number. I understood that she wanted us to visit her.
I prepared all the materials and books and went to see her several days later. As soon I arrived, she told me the difficulties she faced at home—how her daughter-in-law mistreated her, how arrogant she was, and that she looked down on her and thought she was dirty. She complained about her daughter-in-law a lot.
I knew she didn’t put the Fa principles into practice. She only read the Fa but failed to cultivate. She didn’t follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a genuine practitioner. She was not even up to the standard of being a good person. She didn’t know to look within.
I shared with her my understandings of the Fa principles and the requirements Master set for practitioners. I pointed out that she looked outwardly and found other people’s faults in the conflicts with her daughter-in-law. She didn’t look within or behave according to a practitioner’s standard. As a practitioner, she should comply with the high-level principles of Falun Dafa and see where she was wrong.
She agreed and felt that her mind was freed.
I also shared with her about sickness karma. She had treated her health issues like ordinary illnesses. She said she still had lower back pain and there was a medicine that would cure it. I told her not to think about it. As a practitioner, she shouldn’t think of needing medicine to treat illnesses. A practitioner doesn’t have sickness, a practitioner has karma. As long as she regarded herself as a practitioner, I believed that Master would purify her body.
She gradually recognized her own shortcomings after I had shared with her several times. She realized that she was not on the Fa on many issues and had wasted so much time. She learned to look within. Her relationship with her daughter-in-law improved as a result. Her xinxing was upgraded as well; she changed a lot in that year.
Regrets
I went to a trade fair with a practitioner to clarify the truth after the 2023 Chinese New Year. We saw an elderly couple with their grandson sitting on the steps and went to talk with them. The grandfather was very talkative and told us about his big family. They all had boys, not a single girl in the four generations in their family. We were surprised to hear that. It was indeed very unusual. I told the grandmother that she looked young and might still be working. She said that she was not young anymore and was 65 years old and she had all sorts of ailments.
I took this opportunity to tell her about the beauty of Falun Dafa and its amazing health benefits. She told me that she had practiced Falun Dafa in the past and that all her Dafa books were at her youngest son’s home. She came to the big city to look after her grandson but didn’t bring the books with her, so she stopped cultivating. I was concerned and asked her if she’d met any practitioners in recent years. She said that she met some who talked about Dafa briefly but not in as much detail as I did.
I told her how Dafa had spread around the whole world and about the many articles Master had published. I also told her that Master published the article “How Humankind Came To Be” before the Chinese New Year and this article told everyone in the world the heavenly secret about the connection between the universe and humankind and that people were reading it. They agreed to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. They listened to us and asked questions. They seemed very happy and thanked us repeatedly. I told them to thank Master instead of me because Master arranged for us to go there and wake them up.
If they didn’t hurry and catch up in their cultivation, how could they fulfill their life vows that they had signed with Master? What would they do on the day when other practitioners reached consummation? We urged them to come back to cultivation because Master was eagerly awaiting them. We urged them to hurry up and not lag behind because they had a certain innate foundation for cultivation.
We decided when we would meet next. I told them that I would get together all the Dafa books she needed and bring them the next time. I gathered the books Zhuan Falun, The Great Way of Spiritual Perfection and Hong Yin, Master’s new lectures over the past three years, Master’s audio lectures and exercise instructions, Minghui Weekly and other truth-clarification materials, and a USB stick. I also wrote some notes on sending forth righteous thoughts, studying the Fa, and practicing the exercises.
The other practitioner and I went to where we’d agreed to meet ahead of time and waited for her for two hours but didn’t see her. We then clarified the truth to people nearby while still waiting for her, but she never came.
My daughter asked me how things went after I came home. I told her that the practitioner didn’t show up. She said that something might have come up or that the woman might have been afraid and did not dare to practice again.
We went to that place several times but never saw her. We were so sorry that she had missed such a great opportunity. Will she ever get another chance? We hope that she will meet other practitioners in the future and return to cultivate and become a Falun Dafa practitioner again.
All of us have a kinship with Master. I have made up my mind to live up to Master’s trust, continue to do the three things well, assist Master in rectifying the Fa, and save sentient beings so that they will have a good future.
