(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Guili Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Wang Guili was sentenced to three years and six months in prison by the Jinzhou City Court on August 3, 2023. Ms. Wang refused to accept the decision and appealed to the Shijiazhuang City Intermediate Court. The intermediate court upheld the original verdict.
2. [Shifang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhou Yubao Faces Trial
Mr. Zhou Yubao was scheduled to be tried by Shifang City Court at 3:30 p.m. on October 19, 2023.
3. [Dongning City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xiao Hua’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate
Ms. Xiao Hua, 63, was arrested by the Dongning City Police Department. Ms. Xiao developed symptoms of high blood pressure, with readings as high as 210 mmHg, and was taken to the supervised ward on the 17th floor of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Mudanjiang Medical College, also known as the Public Security Hospital. A sign reading Mudanjiang Detention Center can be seen on the door.
Ms. Xiao’s family learned that her case was turned over to the Hailin City Procuratorate by the Dongning Police Department.
4. [Puning City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhao Dexiu Held in Detention Center
Ms. Zhao Dexiu was arrested at home by officers from the Chengbei Police Station on the afternoon of June 19, 2023. At that time, Ms. Zhao was taking care of her one-year-old granddaughter at home. The officers called her husband to pick up the baby at the police station. Afterwards, the police ransacked her home. They confiscated Falun Gong books, practitioners’ experience sharing materials, and issues of Minghui Weekly. Ms. Zhao has been held in custody for four months. Her family received a detention warrant, but did not know why she was detained.
It has been learned from other sources that Ms. Zhao was transferred to the Jiedong Detention Center.
5. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Yuzhong Held in Detention Center
Mr. Zhao Yuzhong from Shizhong District was arrested by officers from the Gao’er Police Station while distributing Falun Gong materials on October 8, 2023. His home was ransacked.
It was reported that Mr. Zhao was taken to a detention center. He was told that he would be held there for a month before a decision would be announced.
6. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Held in Custody for Several Months
Ms. Lin Jinxiu, Ms. Wang Wenqin, Ms. Liu Shuhua, and Ms. Chen Xuefen have been held in Weifang City Detention Center for several months.
7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Chen Qi Remains in Custody
Chen Qi (gender unknown) from Yanshou County was reported to the police while distributing Falun Gong materials on the afternoon of September 27, 2023. Officers from the Yanshou County Domestic Security Division and the Chengbei Police Station arrested him. They ransacked his home, and used a saw to cut open the storage area in his home. They confiscated over 100,000 yuan in cash, a computer, a large booklet, and other items. Chen was taken to Harbin City on the morning of September 28.
8. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Kang Yongcui Officially Arrested
Kang Yongcui (gender unknown) has been officially arrested. Charges have been brought against Li Zhongxia and Li Sulan (genders unknown) by the procuratorate. Chen Li (gender unknown) was arrested on September 20, 2023, and released four days later.
9. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Li Lianqing Arrested
When Li Lianqing (gender unknown) from Yangwu Village, Huangzhuang Town, went to a farm market in neighboring Dachang County on the morning of September 13, 2023, to tell people about Falun Gong, Li was grabbed by two plainclothes officers. After a while, a police car drove up and the officers took Li to the police station.
At around 10 a.m. five officers from the Dachang County Police Station went to Li’s home. They broke in and ransacked the place. The five officers took turns searching all the rooms and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, all the Falun Gong books, and printed materials.
Li was being held in the police station. It was not until about the end of the work day that the officers called Li’s son and asked him to pick Li up. The officers asked Li to sign the interrogation transcript and said, “If you sign it, you can go home now. If you don’t sign it, you will be detained for two weeks.” Li did not sign it. Li returned home at 8 p.m. that evening.
10. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Practitioner in Yuhua District Arrested
Chen Xuhua and seven other officers from a police station in Yuhua District broke into a practitioner’s home and ransacked the place on the morning of April 12, 2023. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, a printer, a computer, a cell phone, and paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them.
The practitioner was taken to the police station and held there for 24 hours. The officers interrogated the practitioner in the police station, who did not cooperate. The officers falsified evidence and took the practitioner to the Changsha City Detention Center for 15 days of detention.
11. [Chongqing] Zhao Chunfu Harassed Multiple Times
Three men from Danlong Community in Huayuanlu Sub-district, Nanping Town, Nan’an District, went to Zhao Chunfu’s home at 3 p.m. on October 12, 2023, and forced Zhao to sign “five statements” to renounce Falun Gong. This was the 31st time in the past two years that Zhao has been harassed at home, which has severely disrupted his family's lives.
