(Minghui.org) In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of International Human Rights Day, Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) practitioners participated in a rally hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Alliance for Victims of the Chinese Communist Regime, which was held on Town Hall Square in Sydney on December 10, 2023. A Falun Dafa representative gave a speech condemning the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) violations of human rights and urging the international community to end the CCP’s persecution of its citizens.
Mr. John Deller, spokesperson for the Falun Dafa Association of Australia, speaking at the rally
In addressing the rally, Mr. John Deller, spokesperson for the Falun Dafa Association of Australia, said that Falun Dafa wasn’t against China or the Chinese people, but spoke for all victims of the Chinese communist regime. He explained that Falun Dafa originated from China’s traditional culture while communism, which grew out of Marxist ideology, has nothing to do with Chinese culture.
“Traditional Chinese culture is based on the understanding of virtues. Being unselfish and putting virtues into practice naturally benefits everyone,” Deller said. “Falun Gong practitioners cultivate virtue. They strive to help the Chinese people quit the Chinese communist organizations, which helps them rediscover their inner strength, values, and freedom.”
Dr. Feng Chongyi speaking at the rally
Dr. Feng Chongyi, chairman of the Australian and New Zealand Alliance of Victims of the Chinese Communist Regime, renowned China scholar and Associate Professor of China Studies, University of Technology Sydney, said, “We should end the Chinese Communist regime as soon as possible. I have been a long-time supporter of Falun Gong. I admire their unyielding spirit in the face of the Chinese Communist regime’s persecution. Pursuing Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is a basic human right and cannot be suppressed. In the past over 20 years, Falun Gong practitioners have done so well putting their compassionate belief into practice. What they have done has inspired countless people.”
