(Minghui.org) According to the Minghui editorial “Confirmation,” over 400 million people in China have died during the past three-plus years of the pandemic. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) ditched its zero-COVID policy on December 7, 2022, and positive cases exploded across China. Despite the CCP’s cover-up of the facts and censorship, the crowded hospitals and crematories explained everything. In Shanghai, the largest city in China, for example, the crematories were so overburdened that the wait time for cremation was up to one month.
Instead of celebrating the Chinese New Year this year (January 22) as usual, many families were mourning the deaths of their loved ones. In the meantime, people are wondering how to stay healthy and safe. The CCP’s three-year zero-COVID policy did not help, and neither did the modern science of herd immunity. So, what can they trust then?
Seeking Health and Safety
Here are a few observations. On Chinese New Year's Day, over 50,000 Beijing residents went to the Yonghe Temple for blessings. Also known as Lama Temple, this place was the highest Buddhist temple in China during the middle and late Qing Dynasty, especially on affairs related to Tibetan Buddhism. Apparently many people continue to count on the divine for blessings.
More than 900 miles away in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, many people went to a local park to worship the statue of Huo Qubing, one of the most outstanding generals in the Han Dynasty. The word qu bing in Chinese means eliminating illnesses, so people worshiped Huo Qubing in hopes of getting good health. Visitors young and old lined up, one by one walking up to the statue to touch the name of huo qubing before touching their own head.
In addition, there was a couplet (a type of poem that includes two vertical lines and one horizontal line) circulating online in China. The two vertical lines read “Hu Qubing” and “Xin Qiji,” and the horizontal line read “Kang Youwei.” Xin Qiji was a poet, calligrapher, and general in the Song Dynasty. The word qiji in Chinese means getting rid of diseases. Kang Youwei was a prominent scholar and politician during the Qing Dynasty and kang means health.
People may have different interpretations of these phenomena, but three observations are apparent. First of all, many Chinese people are desperate for good health. Second, they do not believe the vaccination is as effective as they were told. Third, they turned to traditional culture and ancient wisdom in their pursuit of health and safety.
Interestingly, even under the totalitarian rule of the CCP, nearly no one went to the Party History Museum or Mao Zedong’s Memorial Hall for a blessing. Deep inside people’s hearts, they know that the divine, not communist ideology, will help them.
Incidents That Science Cannot Explain
Just like a person learns from his or her own mistakes, mankind as a whole could gain new understandings after major disasters such as the pandemic.
A report released by faith-based research group Barna Group showed that 44% of American adults were “more open to God” due to the pandemic. This conclusion was based on a survey of 2,000 adults between October 21 and 31, 2022. More specifically, 77% of the survey participants said they believed in a higher power while 74% hoped to grow spiritually.
Even in communist China, many incidents have occurred that are beyond the scope of modern science.
Buddha Statue Saved a girl
In Jingyang County of Shaanxi Province, there is a pagoda called Chongwen Tower. Built in the Ming Dynasty, this tower is 87.22 meters tall with 13 stories. Every year on January 15 on the Chinese lunar calendar, a large festival is held there with many locals coming to worship the Buddhas.
During the festival in 2002, an 8-year-old girl wiggled out of a gap between the slats in the railing on the 12th story and tumbled down.
About 1,000 people were attending the festival at the time and they were shocked by the girl’s free fall; yet, they had no time to do anything. At that critical moment, however, one Buddha statue on the second floor in the southwest direction extended his arm and caught the girl. Over 100 people who were at the bottom of the tower witnessed this while the girl continued crying in the Buddha statue’s arm. To everyone’s surprise, when the girl’s family took her down, they found she had no injury at all.

The girl’s parents placed a red ribbon in the Buddha statue to express their gratitude. The ribbon can still be seen today and this is the only Buddha-statue on this tower who has a red ribbon.
Surviving Wenchuan Earthquake in 2008
Nearly 70,000 people lost their lives during the Wenchuan Earthquake in Sichuan Province in 2008. Lingyan Mountain near Dujiangyan City was also severely damaged. Although the landslide buried some roads, no one in the region died of the earthquake. In addition, the dozens of Bodhisattva Guanyin statues on the mountain also remained intact. Many people who saw this believe in divine existence.
According to a Minghui article, one Wenchuan resident remembered her parents-in-law telling her that reciting “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” would help one remain safe. Both she and her coworker survived the earthquake by reciting the phrases.
Deyang City was also hit hard during the earthquake. One community officer, also a Falun Dafa practitioner, did not immediately rush out for his own safety. Instead, he stayed in the building for over 40 minutes guiding everyone to escape before exiting himself.
Hints from Miracles
After the CCP took power in 1949, it dismissed the traditional culture and indoctrinated the people with its atheist communist ideology through brutality and propaganda. Still, miracles occurred from time to time.
A Goose Egg with Words on It
Liu Xueshun, a retired employee of Qixing Farm in Jiansanjiang Land Reclamation Bureau, Heilongjiang Province, raised geese at home. His wife Gao Zhongqin found one special egg one day. The egg had five Chinese characters on it. Four of the characters were on the sides and read: shen yi lai dao (the divine has arrived) while the fifth character wang (king) was at the bottom of the egg.

A professor from Northeast Agriculture University examined the egg and ruled out the possibility that the characters were from human manipulation. The local television station interviewed Liu and his wife but were not allowed to broadcast the report.
Boulder with words
Wang Guofu, a village Party secretary in Pingtang County in Guizhou Province, found several Chinese characters on a giant boulder in the local tourist site: zhong guo gong chan dang wang. The first five characters mean “Chinese Communist Party” and the last character “wang” means dead (or doomed).
Archaeologists from Guizhou Province said this 100-ton boulder has a history of 270 million years. These characters were formed naturally. In fact, this boulder fell from a cliff on the river bank and broke into two pieces, with one of them showing the characters.
According to archaeologists, several mass extinctions had occurred during the boulder’s existence, including Permian–Triassic extinction event (252 million years ago), Triassic–Jurassic extinction event (201 million years ago), and Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event (66 million years ago). Among them, the last one was believed to be caused by a 10-kilometer asteroid striking the earth.
Summary
Mr. Li Hongzhi, founder of Falun Dafa, published an article titled “How Humankind Came To Be” in January 2023.
“All of the madness now unfolding in the world was planned as such, for the final phase, by divine beings. Their goal was to test the lives here and see whether they were worthy of salvation, and give them a chance to, in the process, work off their sins and karma while going through difficult things. And all of this was done so that people could be saved and gain deliverance back to heaven,” wrote the article.
“The real purpose of building those up is to pave the way for you back to heaven. And that is what’s most crucial, not the brief round of happiness that they can bring you in this lifetime!” concluded the article.
We hope more readers could find this article helpful for them to find a path towards health and safety.
