(Minghui.org) Practitioners held a rally to support Chinese people who have quit their memberships in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations at Place Sun-Yat-Sen, a park in Montreal’s Chinatown on April 15, 2023. Many passersby said after learning the extent of the CCP’s brutal persecution: “Thank you, please keep exposing these atrocities.”
Practitioners held a rally to support the Quit the CCP movement at Place Sun-Yat-Sen on April 15, 2023.
Practitioners introduced the spiritual practice to passersby.
People signed the petition to stop the persecution.
Large banners with messages: “Quit the CCP,” “Stop Organ Harvesting,” “Falun Dafa is good,” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” were displayed at the rally. Practitioners told people about the CCP’s crimes against humanity and appealed to them to distance themselves from the regime. The Tian Guo Marching Band performed. One after another, people stopped to learn about Falun Dafa and expressed their support by signing the petition.
A passerby who formerly worked in the Quebec Province government said, “I am delighted to see them (Falun Dafa practitioners). I commend their efforts. This event is great.”
He said he worked in the Quebec government for many years before retiring and knew of the CCP’s infiltration in Canada. He expressed his concern and said, “The CCP is too dangerous.” He frequently saw practitioners holding events to expose the regime’s crimes and he was encouraged by their persistent efforts. Pointing to the rally, he said excitedly, “The TV station should come and report on such an important event and broadcast it to the public.”
He said he was a victim of the CCP too. Forty five years ago, he fled Cambodia’s communist government and came to Canada. He told practitioners: “Falun Gong is brave! We thank them. Please keep up your efforts!”
Yaya Komoro, an international student said, “Communism is an enemy of freedom and human rights. I support bringing down the CCP. I support this group in fighting for their freedom.”
Yaya Komoro is an international student at McGill University. It was the first time he saw an event held by practitioners. He said, “This group is courageous and should be respected. We support and stand with them.”

Issa Movurad, an international student at the University of Sherbrooke said this was the first time he heard of organ harvesting after reading the information a practitioner gave him, “This (organ harvesting) cannot be accepted, we must speak out. We salute these brave people (Falun Dafa practitioners) because we know they still have family back in China. They risk being threatened by the CCP when they stand out and protest against the regime.”
Ms. Wang gladly agreed to quit her membership in the Communist Young Pioneers using an alias after practitioners explained the importance of doing this. She said, “This is a declaration. I am no longer a member of the CCP organization!”
She said she got around the Internet censorship when she was in China and learned of the regime’s continued cover up of the truth and how it treats Chinese citizens. She said that what the Party has done is cruel. She hopes the CCP will collapse soon.
Yet, many people still do not realize they have been misled by the regime’s propaganda due to information censorship. She hoped rallies held by practitioners could help Chinese people learn the truth.
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 23 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
