(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 26 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Zhang Junying, 74, was reported to the police for posting “Falun Dafa is Good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good” stickers in 2020. She was arrested by officers from the Beijing Road Police Station in Chuanying District, where she was held for two days and one night.
Around 8 p.m. on February 18, 2020, Ms. Zhang was released after the police extorted 1,000 yuan from her family. Ms. Zhang was later forced to leave home.
Over the past two years, Chuanying District Procuratorate staff have been calling or going to her home to demand that she go to the procuratorate and sign paperwork.
In March 2023, the procuratorate called Ms. Zhang’s family again to harass them.
When Ms. Li Yaqiu went through the security check at the Jinan high-speed railway station around 9 a.m. on March 4, 2023, the security guards found and confiscated amulets and two audio players that she had in her bag.
Ms. Li was taken to the police station at the high-speed railway station for interrogation and was subsequently taken to the detention center for five days of detention. After a medical examination, the detention center refused to accept her due to her serious health condition.
Mr. Du Liqing was reported to the police for telling people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of January 19, 2023. He was restrained by four or five officers, pushed into a police car, and taken to the Banyang Police Station. The officers searched him and confiscated two amulets. They interrogated him and took him home at 8 p.m.
Ms. Wang Sumei, in her 70s, clarified the truth about the persecution to a person on the morning of February 16, 2023. The person turned out to be a plainclothes officer, who secretly video-recorded her.
Officers from the Xisaishan District Police Department and the Muyanghu Police Station broke into Ms. Wang’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and printed materials. Ms. Wang’s home was ransacked twice by police.
At noon on February 16, officer Wang Yi from the police department led several officers to rummage through Ms. Wang’s home again. Before leaving, the officers told Ms. Wang to go with them to the police department. They promised to give her a ride home. She refused.
Mr. Yang Yong was reported to the police and arrested for distributing truth-clarification materials on March 7, 2023. On March 9 and 11, the officer in charge of his case at the Yaojia Police Station twice notified Mr. Yang’s family to go to Jinan City Detention Center to deliver clothes to him.
In April 2022, after Mr. Yang was reported to the police while distributing truth-clarification materials, officers from the Yaojia Police Station in the Lixia District located his home via surveillance cameras. Mr. Yang was subsequently taken to the Yaojia Police Station by officers from the Lixia District Domestic Security Division and officer Yu Dezhao, who handled his case, at the police station. He was released on bail and was forced to pay a deposit of 5,000 yuan.
Around July and August 2022, officer Yu Dezhao called Mr. Yang several times and told him to go to the police station. Yu wanted Mr. Yang to be criminally detained and he sent the case to the procuratorate. Yu pressured Mr. Yang to sign paperwork, which he refused.
However, a few days later, the officers notified Mr. Yang that they would impose criminal detention on him. Mr. Yang was forced to leave home to avoid being detained.
Mr. Guan Wenlong from Feiketu Town was arrested again on August 4, 2022. He is being held in the Acheng District No. 1 Detention Center.
Mr. Guan was sent to a forced labor camp for eighteen months and sentenced to seven years in prison. He was previously incarcerated in four prisons: Xinjian Prison, Yuquan Prison, Harbin No. 3 Prison, and Mudanjiang Prison.
Ms. Liu Yuhong from Jimo District was reported to the police for telling people about the persecution on February 25, 2023. She was arrested by officers from the Mashan Police Station.
Ms. Ma Xiuyun and Mr. Tang Pingshun will be tried at the Chaoyang District Court at 9 a.m. on March 15, 2023.
Three officers from the Huachang Police Station broke into Ms. Xiao Jingrong’s home on March 10, 2023. After they got in, they started videotaping her and forcibly took her saliva samples for DNA testing.
Mr. Li Jinzhong from Donghenan Village, Hou Town, was reported to the police for clarifying the truth about the persecution on March 8, 2023. He was arrested by officers from the Daotian Police Station. He was held in the Shouguang City Detention Center. Two of his residences were ransacked.
Ms. Zhao Qin, about 68, from Shizhong District, was arrested by officers from the Weibei Road Police Station around 8 a.m. on March 7, 2023. She is being held in a detention center.
Officers from the Muping District Domestic Security Division and the Wuning Police Station broke into Ms. Liu Yingzhi’s home and ransacked the place at 4 p.m. on March 3, 2023. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, two computers, and two printers. Ms. Liu was taken to the police station and was released on bail the following afternoon. The officers recently forced her to go to the police station to write a statement promising not to practice Falun Gong.
Mr. Li Qingsheng from Yongling Town was reported to the police while clarifying the truth about the persecution in the Sandaobao area, Jiahe Village, Yongling Town, on the morning of March 10, 2023. He was arrested by officers from the Yongling Town Police Station. The officers ransacked his home at noon and confiscated one desk calendar and a few Chinese New Year paintings. Mr. Li was released that afternoon.
Mr. Feng Jingyou, 69, was arrested by the deputy director of the Xiaduopu Police Station and two other officers, who were already staked out in front of his house at 9 a.m. on February 21, 2023. He was taken to the Ningxiang City Detention Center at 8 p.m. that night for 10 days of detention.
At 8 a.m. on March 3, Mr. Feng just stepped out of the detention center, when he was grabbed and dragged into a police car by three officers from the Lijingpu Police Station who were waiting at the entrance. They took him to the police station.
In the police station, Mr. Feng was brutally abused. He passed out. The officers dragged Mr. Feng, who had lost consciousness, to the case handling center of the Ningxiang City Police Department, and threw him to the ground.
The officers also dragged Mr. Feng to a corner of the room and tried to make him stand up against the wall. They collected Mr. Feng’s personal information and interrogated him. Mr. Feng was not released until 4:30 p.m.
Ms. Pan Hanyu was arrested by officers from the local police station on March 7, 2023, for distributing information about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.
On the morning of March 6, 2023, officers from the Hetoudian Town Police Station in Laixi City went to Ms. Hu Cuixiang’s home in Xiaodiandong Village. When they learned that she went to the farmer’s market, they went there directly. Ms. Hu and her husband were busy making fried dough sticks, cooking fish, and serving customers. They arrested her.
Ms. Hu is being held in Laixi City Detention Center for 15 days of detention.
Multiple officers from the Bin County Police Department and the Shengli Town Police Station went to Ms. Song Yulian’s home in Weijiatun Village in Shengli Town around noon on March 3, 2023. They arrested her and took her to the police station.
These people first went to her husband’s (Mr. Shan Yonglin) workplace, where they found him and ordered him to go home. They forcibly took him home and arrested Ms. Song. They took her to Harbin that afternoon.
Ms. Zhang Fengcai was reported to the police for clarifying the truth on the morning of March 11, 2023. She was arrested by officers from the Gulou Police Station in the Nankai District. Five officers ransacked her home.
Five people, including Domestic Security officer Zhao Gang, broke into Ms. Xie Xianqiong’s home on March 8, 2023. They ransacked the place and arrested her.
Mr. Cheng Wei and Mr. Li Yuchun were reported to the police while clarifying the truth in Bajiazi Sub-district, Tiexi District, on July 24, 2022. They were arrested by officers from the Bajiazi Police Station. Their homes were ransacked.
Mr. li was sentenced to one year and six months in prison by the Lishan District Court. Mr. Cheng was released on bail on August 8 and is currently displaced.
Director Tong of the Xinli Town Police Station in Yushu City led two officers to break into Mr. Shan Zhenquan’s home in Shuangyu Village on the evening of March 11, 2023. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun and an audio player, on the grounds of collecting evidence. They arrested Mr. Shan and took him to the police station, where they questioned him and transcribed his answers before releasing him.
Zhu Yuxia and Liu Chuanrong (gender unknown) were arrested downstairs at Liu’s apartment on the morning of March 3, 2023. The two practitioners’ cell phones had been monitored for an extended period of time. Zhu was held at the Xiguang Police Station for nine days. Zhu failed the physical examination and was not accepted by the detention center. Zhu returned home on March 11.
Liu was taken to Changchun City Detention Center. The police photographed, and tested Liu’s blood, collected Liu’s saliva samples and fingerprints, and scanned Liu’s iris for biometric information.
