(Minghui.org) Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, is from Changchun City, Jilin Province in northeastern China. It’s also in Changchun that Master Li first taught the practice to the public in May 1992.
I reently met three people from Master’s hometown and they each expressed their respect and admiration for Master.
Fellow practitioner Mei and I came across Mr. Feng from Changchun in a park the other day. “Did you know a world-renowned master from Changchun?” Mei asked him. He looked at us, smiling. Mei continued, “I have been to many countries abroad, and saw many people practicing Falun Dafa taught by Master Li Hongzhi. It is very popular overseas, have you heard about it?”
“Of course I know about Master Li,” Mr. Feng said. “We served in the military together. He is an upright person, generous and low-key. He was always willing to help others. Master Li practices qigong and has supernatural powers. If anyone was sick and asked for his help, he would help them without charging anything. He is not political and isn’t interested in amassing a fortune. What is said on TV is all nonsense. The Communist Party has always manipulated and deceived people.”
Mr. Bing is originally from Changchun, but he has lived in Beijing for many years. He works with a family member of mine and they chatted about Falun Dafa and Master Li one day.
Mr. Bing said he got to know Master Li during the 1960s. He described Master Li as a kind and generous person, low-key, and relatable. He also said that Master Li did not engage in politics, nor did he care about material enrichment. He lived a very simple life and did not live in a mansion as propagated by the communist regime.
When they attended a gathering one time in the early 90s, Mr. Bing noticed that Master Li made a simple dish of cucumbers mixed with jelly noodles. The cucumber was finely cut, very refreshing. He also mentioned that Master Li was a person down to earth, never self-aggrandizing. He once asked Master Li: “Can Falun Dafa cure every illness?” Master said not really, because the cause of illnesses can be very different and complicated, and some were not easy to treat.
Mr. Bing added: “Master Li is a good man. Do not believe the lies and propaganda from the communist regime. During the June 4th Massacre in 1989, blood was spilled 0n Tiananmen Square, but the Chinese Communist Party said that not a single shot was fired. I have not believed the regime since.”
When Mr. Cai met Master Li, he was already a well-known qigong master in the country, but he was approachable, unassuming, upright, and kindhearted. He didn’t talk much and was always smiling.
Mr. Cai learned that Master Li had supernatural powers, and a friend invited Master Li to treat Mr. Cai’s teacher’s wife, who had been paralyzed for many years. She had sought medical treatment for many years to no avail.
After Master Li attended to the woman, she said she felt a warm current going through her body and she felt comfortable. She was able to sit up shortly after and had feeling in her limbs again. After curing her, Master Li didn’t charge a penny. He was nothing like the communist regime claimed on TV.
Mr. Cai said that the Chinese Communist Party is a tyrannical government. People that they wish to suppress are labeled as illegal organizations and controlled. He believes that is why so many people now seek to escape China.
