(Minghui.org) The Szent László Association of Oradea organized the 11th edition of its cultural festival, The Days of Saint Ladislau, in the Fortress of Oradea, Romania, from June 19 to 25, 2023. Event organizers invited practitioners to participate and tell festival attendees about Falun Dafa on June 24 and June 25.
The festival included cultural events, exhibitions, children’s activities, creative workshops, sports competitions, sports activities, a food festival and concerts. Practitioners taught the five sets of Falun Dafa exercises as a sports activity and ran lotus flower-making lessons as a creative workshop.
Both Hungarians and Romanians attended the practitioners’ events and were impressed by the benefits of the practice. Many people wanted to share the values of the practice, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, with other people, and said that the persecution practitioners face in China under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) should be stopped.
Practitioners participated in the festival and taught members of the public the exercises at the cultural festival, The Days of Saint Ladislau on June 24 and June 25, 2023.
Two Professors Emeritus Cherish the Values of Truthfulness-Compassion- Forbearance
Dr. Agneta Marcu is a professor emeritus at the University of Oradea, and was the Dean of the Faculty of Arts for 11 years before she retired. Her husband, Dr. Vasile Marcu, is also a professor emeritus at the same institution and won the Higher Education Excellence Award for his achievements.
Agneta Marcu and Vasile Marcu, professors emeritus, agree with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
They stopped by the Falun Dafa practitioners’ booth at the festival on Saturday, June 24, and had a long conversation with the practitioners to learn more about the practice.
“This is the first time I’m hearing about Falun Dafa, but I see the principles behind it, and I can say that we have always tried to live by them,” Dr. Marcu said. Regarding the persecution of Falun Dafa, Dr. Marcu said she was indignant that innocent citizens would be subjected to torture—or even forced organ harvesting—simply for their personal beliefs. “It is inadmissible,” she said.
A Second Meeting with Falun Dafa
One woman brought her sons to participate in the festival’s sports activities. When her children were young, she said she learned about Falun Dafa at a health fair.
One of her sons learned the first four exercises of Falun Dafa. After he was finished, he told practitioners that he, “Felt intense heat while doing the exercises,” and asked about the practice site in Oradea. “I want to come do the exercises again,” he said.

“May the Persecution End as Soon as Possible.”
For many festival-goers, this was the first time they heard about the widespread persecution of tens of millions of Falun Dafa practitioners in China. People who understood the situation expressed sympathy for the practitioners in China and some even expressed anger that such atrocities are still going on today.
One man expressed his dismay at the CCP’s behavior, and said it was a contrast with the peaceful nature of the Falun Dafa practice.
“I’m sorry that I have to hear things like that are ongoing in China, whereas here I feel a peaceful and benevolent atmosphere around you,” he said. “I wish you much success in your activities. May the persecution end as soon as possible.”
A woman walked past the lotus flower workshop and stopped to talk to a practitioner. He explained the benefits that Falun Dafa exercises can bring to those who practice them, as well as the persecution faced by practitioners in China for upholding their beliefs.
“I didn’t think this could happen nowadays. It seems I was wrong,” the woman said. “Those (persecutors) may be punished. God will not let them get away with it.
A woman expresses her anger at the crimes against humanity happening in China and said she hopes Falun Dafa practitioners will find justice.
Festival Organizers Join the Falun Dafa Activities
Two volunteers working for the festival organizer returned to the practitioners’ table several times during the two days. They repeatedly offered to help the practitioners with whatever they needed.
When the practitioners gave them each a copy of The Lotus Story, a children’s book, the two volunteers were very happy once they saw that the story was about Falun Dafa’s values.
“If all people followed these principles of Falun Dafa, I think we wouldn’t have so many problems in the world,” one of them said.
